purpleronnie Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I'd forgot who was in the final, now I know I'm even less interested.
john_lcfc Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 The Fa cup is still special to me. The fact my local teams will start their campaigns in 2 months to get to next seasons final makes me shiver with emotion, but then Im an old school person who loves traditional football

Semi-finals at Wembley Weakened Teams Domination by an ever more dominant Premier League elite who have little interest in winning it Restriction on the number of replays No instant replays
StanSP Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Right, I just hope no customers come in from 3 til 5pm so I can watch this
maddog Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Bet you wouldn't be saying all that if we got to the final. Well obviously not The only thing good about it is the chance of Europe if you win it, but Chelsea and Everton are already there anyway. If we were in it then it would be fantastic Playing the semi-finals at Wembley just ruins the feel of the final completely. And i don't think they had 50000 corporates, non fans back in our day of League Cup Finals.
Matt Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Free on Setanta . Is this the right thread? Hmmm, Marginally better than ITV Coverage, not much, think as its free i'll choose Setanta Coverage though. WTF has happened to El Tel? He's lost some chub and grew a beard.

Semi-finals at Wembley Weakened Teams Domination by an ever more dominant Premier League elite who have little interest in winning it Restriction on the number of replays No instant replays can i just add 25,000 allocations to that list. Although Im still in love with the FA cup. 3rd round weekend non league v Premiership. I love that weekend.
The Doctor Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 i don't think the cup is actually that intersting. if city got to the final then i would watch it but as it is i would rather spend cup final day the way i did today - watching the scottish cup final instead.
DB11 Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I didn't even know today was Cup Final day Got back from where I was reffing and went on SSN and saw Chelsea players with a trophy
willchafer Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 i think tbh for me it has been good but then all i do is football so slightly bias...looking from a city fan point of view i would say the thrill has gone down a bit where we havent had many big teams to go against recentyl or ones we have are jus plain boring
surrifox Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 my party piece was naming cup finalists , teams, scores and scorers from any year 1958 to 1986 now I have to think who are the current holders and wouldn't have a clue about the scores let alone who won it last year -I'm told this is an age thing rather than a lack of interest in the competition itself. I went to the 69 final with my dad it still hurts , we should never have picked glover who was unfit !
Fosse Boy Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 If Leicester ever win The Cup, I shall die a happy man. I can't stand watching Chelsea win Cup finals. I can't stand Chelsea full stop though.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I lose interest after City exit, although I like to see a couple of underdogs in the final. I watched Portsmouth v Cardiff in the pub last year for that reason, but last night I fell asleep on the couch before the game started. A Chelsea win? Who would have thought.
