Uncle Albert Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 What a match last night! Murray's fight and determination was brilliant and he showed that when the cards are down he can pick himself up and fight back. Was brilliant to see. Fairplay to Wawrinka, he deserves alot of credit and after last nights performance he should be back in the top 10 easily. Murray's first serve last night wasnt upto scratch and he has said this was down to the conditions. Hopefully his match against Juan Carlos Ferrero doesnt go to a 5 setter, even though I can see it being an equally hard match. Was thinking last night if Murray gets to the Semi's who would he prefer Roddick or Hewitt? Hewitt yesterday was awesome.
Lovejoy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Don't tell Father Ted, but I see Nole Djokovic is creeping throught the draw quite impressively, thought relatively unnoticed. I wonder if the forgotten man of the "big 4" can spring a surprise assuming of course he meets Fed in the semis?
Benji Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 how rusedski just lost that doubles match i'll never know
AjcW Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Im currently watching the doubles pairing of bherami and lecont.... quality comedy television, the highlight of wimbledon alot of the time.

Haha yeah me too. Bahrami and Leconte are quite funny . Would also be good if one of the cameramen could keep up at what Bahrami does sometimes
AjcW Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Is it wrong to have a thing for laura robson, im nearly 19 ..... theres something about cute women and tennis

He's played a cracking couple of last matches but was poor at Halle in the warm up tournament and started Wimbledon shaky... but he is over that. It would be even more interesting if it was a Djokovic v Karlovic semi.

StanSP Posted 30 June 2009 Author Posted 30 June 2009 Is it wrong to have a thing for laura robson, im nearly 19 ..... theres something about cute women and tennis She's illegal. Technically, nothing stopping you. But consequences wouldn't be good. For you.
Jimmy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 the Yanks are moaning because apparently the BBC were "influencing" the order of play on Centre Court to make sure the women were selected more on looks then ability. it would obviously be nothing to do with the fact most Williams sister matches are boring as fook and last an hour tops and the tournament organisers actually want to give the fans on Centre value for money ...
Ultra Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 But it does seem strange that the No.1 women's seed, Dinara Safina, has only had one game on Centre Court. Note also how the Murray game was scheduled to take place in the evening when it could attract a peak TV audience..
Benji Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Tomorrow is going to be a great day of tennis Karlovic v Federer: will be interesting with the big man smashing a few down Murrary v Ferrero: Juan Carlos being the wildcard has done brilliantly to get this far and you'd expect Murrary to win but we often said that about Henman Haas v Djokovic: Novak has been very quiet in getting into the last 8 and being world number 4 you'd expect him in the next round facing Haas, chance to see if he's capable of going much further though Hewitt v Roddick: expecting this to be the best match of the day, if it clashes with the Murrary game at critical points I'd be struggling to choice one! Pimms cup!

Pimms cup! Understatement. Best tournament in the world and 4 ripping matches all 4 could really go any way, except Fed should win but Karlovic has been good on the grass. Ferrero is a deceptively good grass player aswell.

Now you've admitted that, get down the shops and buy a big bottle of Pimms and enjoy Hewitt beating Roddick in style
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Now you've admitted that, get down the shops and buy a big bottle of Pimms and enjoy Hewitt beating Roddick in style I've been watching it not with pimms tho........actually what is Pimms. Worse thing about Wimbeldon is the times it is on over here live coverage 11pm til 4am.....then up for work at 6am. Not good for me. May actually put a few bets and multis on instead. Yes it is the best tournament in the world Aussie Open is good, great atomsphere. But Wimbeldon has the prestige and the history that i think all players given the chance it would be number one on there list to win. I got to see centre court once was too tight to pay for the tour so made a decoy then snuck past security to get a few happy snaps of centre court.
Benji Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 apparently it's gin based but I hate gin and it tastes completely different, usually have it with lemonade (if you watch some wimbledon matches look in the crowd at people with orange colour drinks in plastic cups, its popular at the tournament and a great excuse to drink such a girls drink) basically just tastes like a fruity punch can't really compare it to anything

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 The Fed V Karlovic much just got 15/2 that there will not be a tie break in the match......too good a odds. In the Murray match the same bet is paying $1.80
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 But it does seem strange that the No.1 women's seed, Dinara Safina, has only had one game on Centre Court. And that was against the delectable Sabine Lisicki...
