Jimmy Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Ferrero gave up towards the end.Murray won't get past Hewitt or Roddick. He'll be too tired. he's cruised through in straight sets and they're having a long slog in the heat, Yeah Murray will be the more tired
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Bloody awesome 2nd set one of the best iv'e seen, just woke the house up when hewwy won it
maddog Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 I'm loving this Hewitt Roddick match. Wish i was on court one today instead of yesterday.
Simi Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Chin up Jovan Murray breases through, some delightful tennis today.
Joe. Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Hoping Hewitt goes through now, I think Murray would have a better chance against him than Roddick. Plus, who doesn't love a bit of Lleyton? P.s. Put down the Kleenex Father Ted.
maddog Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 I fooking hate Andy Roddick. This is easily the best match of the tournament so far by a mile, quality tennis. Especially the 3rd set tie break which Hewitt won 12-10.
Samilktray Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Murray will face Roddick then. If he can handle Roddicks serve I see no problems for our Andy.
Bert Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Murray will face Roddick then.If he can handle Roddicks serve I see no problems for our Andy. He beat him at Queens didn't he?
purpleronnie Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Going to be tough especially if Roddick serves well, better than playing Federer though.
Father Ted Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Chin up JovanMurray breases through, some delightful tennis today. Where's your Novak gone? Where's your Novak gone? P.s. Put down the Kleenex Father Ted. There's always next year
Benji Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Murray is the best returner in the world or at least joint with Federer, if Roddick was unbeatable he'd be world number 1 and so he should be massively confident of a safe win!
Jimmy Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Going to be tough especially if Roddick serves well, better than playing Federer though. Murray leads Federer 6-2 in head-to-head records, he has nothing to fear facing him, he has the same record against Roddick
Father Ted Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 But on grass? They've never played on grass against each other before I think.
Jimmy Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 no they haven't, a quirk of the draw is that Murray and Fed always seems to be opposite ends of it. If Murray were to win Wimbledon he would be only 5 rankings points behind Nadal, leap-frogging Federer, if Fed wins the tournament he goes back to world No. 1
Ultra Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Federer should stroll through the semi. Murray v Roddick could go to four sets, maybe five.
Joe. Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Murray leads Federer 6-2 in head-to-head records, he has nothing to fear facing him, he has the same record against Roddick Right, OK. Federer beats Murray when it really matters.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 There's always next year You still have the Water Polo mate.
martyn Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Murray's level must increase now, if he's have played like he did for the first 1.5 sets today against a Federer or even a Roddick, he'd likely be 2 sets down. Roddick is playing great tennis, his backhand used to simply be a shot to get the ball back into play, today it looked like a genuine weapon for large portions andof course his serve is second only to Dr Ivo. Think i'll be ready to strap myself in for a 5 setter before the winner is soundly disposed of in 4 sets by Federer in the final.
Jimmy Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Right, OK. Federer beats Murray when it really matters. I didn't say he can't lose i said he has no reason to fear playing them, he's won the last 4 meetings with Fed, who has as much pressure as Murray does to beat Samprass' record
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Right, OK. Federer beats Murray when it really matters. A fair point but Murray looks to have hit form at exactly the right time. He was absolutely magnificent today, and on that form he'll give R-Fed a run for his money.
Anish Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 He beat him at Queens didn't he? No, Roddick retired in his semi final against James Blake through injury. Murray should be confident against Roddick, he has a better head to head and as long as he returns the Roddick serve he's got every chance. Federer will destroy Haas and Murray in the final - only Nadal can get close to Federer in the slams.

He's the only one to me, that's never looked like he could go on and lose the match. Murray may be winning on head to head, but like Joe said, when it matters, Fed wins.
