Edmund Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 http://edition.cnn.com/2009/SPORT/07/26/cr...australia.bell/ It was inevitable but Bell has been confirmed as KP's replacement.
Corky Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Johnson's had another indifferent game, this time at Northampton. I can see Clark coming in for him on Thursday.
Joe. Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Yep, he'll get his standard 25-30, get admired for his brilliant technical ability and then get out cheaply.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 27 July 2009 Posted 27 July 2009 Is Lee back in the squad? No Good to see Ronnie Mac bat and bowl well in the tour match. His bowling was very underated in our series win in South Africa, he just bowls line and length medium pacers that are hard to get away. Wouldn't lose anything if we got him in the team. Could see North dropped for Mcdonald and Clark in for Johnson.
Matt Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Flintoff is fit for the next test. Just passed his fitness test apparently.
Benji Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Bell will be playing on his county pitch wont he? No excuse to not get a decent score really, should be ample replacement for pieterson. Glad about Brett Lee, if there's a chance he'll make tests 4 and 5 a win this week is crucial. Onions or Harmison? hmmmmm
Fox You Forest Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Doubt there will be much if any cricket if the weather stays like this much longer.
lou Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Doubt there will be much if any cricket if the weather stays like this much longer. Beat me to it... was just gonna say the chances of seeing any cricket are pretty much zilch
john_lcfc Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 forcast says the rain stops around 10 tonight and then the groundstaff will work all night to mop up the water and finish preparing the wicket. Play before lunch may be optimistic but i think we'll get in two sessions provided it doesnt rain again tomorow. forcast= sunny intervals.

Budweiser Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Got my ticket a while back to the 4th test, 5th day. Hopefully it will stretch to the last day. England about to win it round about then would be very nice.

Fosse Boy Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Feeling sorry for the poor Edgbaston ground staff who are at present working through the night to make this playable for tomorrow. Having seen some of the pictures of how it looked in the early evening I must say I doubt even a Test pitch and outfield will drain quickly enough for us to start on time tomorrow. Reminds me of last week when my team nearly went out to play on a Bitteswell wicket that had puddles on a length. I was really looking forward to having a bowl on that.

The groundman sounds like a top guy as well, looks like an older version of Tuffers too! Doubt there will be any play tomorrow, too risky for the players even if it is dry because the amount of rain there has been will not drain in time at all!

Sods Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Last thing we need is another rain ruined game Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.
