Ultra Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 If one of the bowlers hits a purple patch tomorrow morning, the Aussies are in deep trouble. Credit to Prior, Flintoff and Broad for the way they batted today.
marko Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Just got back from Edgbaston and what a day. Freddie was awesome with the bat and Broad played some nice shots. Cracking atmosphere in the Eric Hollis stand and plenty of good natured banter. Let's just hope Freddie can be an inspiration with the ball tomorrow morning.
Corky Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Nicely poised, good batting from the later order, decent lead acquired. A couple of early wickets, like on Friday, could really set them back and hopefully we'll take advantage.
Bert Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Certainly winnable from this position. The good thing is we can't lose now, so the Aussies have two more tests to regain the ashes. They could easily do it, but the momentum is certainly with us at the minute.
Fox You Forest Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Still highly unlikely though, a couple of quick wickets would be nice in the morning to put them under some serious pressure.
Ultra Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Could really do with winning this one. Brett Lee should be back for Headingley, while Flintoff and Harmison are struggling for fitness.
Joe. Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Come on you bastardds....... ONIONS! Yes Graham. Bastard Ponting,
Brainy Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Has the headline "Onions makes Aussies cry" been used yet?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 According to Aggers on Twitter, Bumble has suspected swine flu.I blame 'Roo Fox
Fosse Boy Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 There's something very strange about listening to TMS in digital quality. It just doesn't feel right without loads of crackling in the background.
AjcW Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 So glad I stayed home to watch this today, 4 down, another before lunch and I reckon we can just sneak a win, either way its fine because a draw is hardly awful is it.
purpleronnie Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 A draw it is then, pity, on the other hand my massive £3.92p bet will be up. Still worried about those Aussies, I predicted 2-1 to the aussies, and you know what those Aussies are like.....

James. Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 In the interests of entertainment the Aussies should smash it about for half an hour then declare at tea.

Webbo Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 In the interests of entertainment the Aussies should smash it about for half an hour then declare at tea. Tbh I'm surprised they haven't declared now. There's no way we can score 240odd in the time remaining but they have a very slight chance of bowling us out.
Edmund Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Tbh I'm surprised they haven't declared now. There's no way we can score 240odd in the time remaining but they have a great chance of bowling us out. Corrected
Corky Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Bit of a shame we didn't win, but we're still in the lead and I'd have taken that after three Tests.
Joe. Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Seems that the prize wicket is swaying more towards Clarke than Ponting these days...
C-man Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 The boos that greeted Ponting were great but I heard that the commentators on SKY were fuming about it.
Flynny Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 The boos that greeted Ponting were great but I heard that the commentators on SKY were fuming about it. When was this? At the same time as it's funny to wind him up he's seemed nothing but decent since he got here this time (apart from moaning about Leicester).
Ultra Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 When he came out to bat in the second innings. Some of the brummies (or possibly day-tripping City fans) showed a lack of class, but English players down under would probably get similar treatment.
