Banks Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 I enjoy a night out in Terrace. Much prefer it to places like Yates's and Walkabout. Though me & my friends have had a bit of trouble with rugby players in Terrace. Agree, Terrace is far better than Yates. Much fitter girls in there as well which helps
Tevez Posted 8 July 2014 Author Posted 8 July 2014 Don't you need a Blazer and Fake tan to get in Terrace?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 That's another that gets my goat, people in blazers.
Soar Fox Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 That's another that gets my goat, people in blazers. The trainers or jacket?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 The jacket. It's not so much the actual item of clothing but the people who seem to wear them, I'm aware I'm tarring a steady group of people with the same brush here but they all seem like bandits to me.

Special occasions yes. Night in Leicester no.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 I gave Liquid, Lloyds and Walkabout recommendations on the first page of this thread. What an amateur, clearly 19 year old me enjoyed a good old gorp at some classy birds. Some things never change... THE AVIARY I got approached from someone giving me free entry in there, I said "no, not my scene". -"Why not?" -"I'm gay?" Yeah, I panicked. I went in the Queen of Bradgate on Saturday. What a change from what it was! It's a hipster drinkers paradise. I'm 26 and I'm firmly in the day drinking club now. Forgot nights out. Leo Sayer's are the way. Same age I turned as well, a Saturday all dayer beats a night out hands down now. I hear you brother's. Can't be dealing with these late nights any more. Plus I'm a tragic drink snob. Hit me up with some Goose Island IPA please.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 the aviary im spitting out my squash here
cambridgefox Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 the aviary im spitting out my squash hereMind your blazer.
Soar Fox Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 the aviary im spitting out my squash here Make sure your fake tan doesn't run.
Maybes Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 Anyone been in the Grapevine? It's the old Bar Sirius. Like walking into an episode of Towie. Helmets everywhere.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 If I go out of an evening I generally find myself in either Morrisons (Freeman's common), or if I'm really lucky, B&Q
Darkon84 Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 I enjoy a good few drinks in Terrace. Well, apart from when little chavs come in from Yates' and Walkabout, smelling of gypsy sweat, then almost knock my Moet all over my blazer.

Now we are talking. Taps, The Pub, Orange Tree, Queen of Bradgate, Rutland & Derby are all good shouts in this department for Leicester. Bruxelles, Bankers Club, Firebug borderline. Then you've got your traditional ale pubs too. Kings, The Salmon, Criterion.....carry on and on.
Rincewind Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Thought I knew everywhere but with names changing i have lost track with some. The Terrace for one. Not keen on a place that just sells lager and John Smiths at hyped up prices. Glorified wine bars with awful music blaring out. I normally just go in the traditional real ale pubs but only have a couple.
Soar Fox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Anyone know if XY has a dress code? Not a dress code as much but not too casual. No trainers though.

Comment not to you Ken it merged 2 of my posts
Voll Blau Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I'm also much keener on an all dayer than nights out nowadays, preferably rounded off with a decent curry or a boozer with a live band on.

Rincewind Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I was on twitter earlier and replied to a post from a City fan who mentioned The Regent Club as a place to go in after the game. I replied that I was considering joining as it was not far from me. He said you are most welcome. Then I realised where I had seen his name before. Ultra. His real name was displayed and I expect most will know it. Don't know him in person so I won't judge based on comments on here good or bad. They have a reduced membership offer towards the end of August. Went in during the CAMRA Mild Trail Month and it seems a decent place. Quiet and more suited to older people or those that do not like the younger type places. They have a games room with a snooker table and serve one or two real ales so OK to nip in for an occasional pint without going too far.
