Fosse Boy Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Polar Bear. Firebug. Mosh. Win. Taken to the Loaded Dog, taxi, Cafe Bruxelles (tradition, uck knows why), Mosh route of late though. Polar Bear seems to have gone downhill a tad.
lildave3 Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Has anyone been to 'Republic'? Its where Zanzibar use to be oposite the bus station. Tried to go there Saturday night after some randomer stamped us giving us a pound off entry. Turns out she'd stamped the whole of Leicestershire and the queue was round the corner so thought fuck that and went somewhere else instead.
Mr B Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 I go different places depending on the day i'm going out, Mosh on a Tuesday, Liquid Wednesday or Friday and Fan Club on a Saturday as that's when they have their best nights. Don't usually do bars as i usually do a pre-lash at home. I personally hate Life never had a good night there. Zanzibar has closed? Never even noticed, that's how shit it was .
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 December 2010 Posted 25 December 2010 Mosh on a Tuesday used to be fucking incredible until Lifey Catalogue cunt All Saints bellends caught wind. It's still a decent night, gone downhill a long, long way tough. Same happened to the Loaded Dog, used to be more than decent on a Sunday night for a few. Only been to Fan Club a smattering of times, when it's rammed it seems pretty decent. Haven't been to Liquid in far, far too long, used to love filthy nights in there, all drinks £1.80. Nothing will compare to the night me Tilley and Joe 'enjoyed' on Thursday though. Random as anything but insanely brilliant.
SemperEadem Posted 25 December 2010 Posted 25 December 2010 http://www.thisismoda.com/massive-moda-leicester-party-announced If your into this kind of music, this night looks insane.
Wymsey Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Went to the Time Bar on London Road (next to train station) on Boxing day evening with some old College mates. Atmosphere was superb and drinks value wasn't bad too
Asha Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 This may be the right place to ask. Me and a few guys are staying the night in town NYE before heading for the coaches to take us to Hull City. Only problem is a slight void from 2am (when Wetherspoons closes)...any suggestions of places that'll be open?
Finnegan Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Firebug doesn't close til 4 and last time I was there in NYE it was surprisingly not overly rammed. I mean still busy, but we found somewhere to sit.
Asha Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Fabulous stuff Finnegan, appreciated. Definitely kill a couple of hours in there.
Finnegan Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 More expensive than Spoons, like. But I mean, well. Bit nicer.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 The only issue with the Leicester Walkabout is there is no aussies working there, but the blokes that work there are quality fellas and kept me company when i spent all day drinking on my own watching the cricket.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 No idea if it'll be open NYE, but Canvas in St. Martin's Square is usually open 'til pretty late (5/6 AM, can't remember) on weekends, decent enough place.
Bert Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 I think the last time I went out in town I was showing MTWG some moves
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 I think the last time I went out in town I was showing MTWG some moves It was like bloody Step Up in Liquid that night.
fox123 Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 The venue shouldn't matter. If you're with good company, then the venue is irrelevant.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 The venue shouldn't matter. If you're with good company, then the venue is irrelevant. Very wise words couldn't agree more.
Tevez Posted 4 January 2011 Author Posted 4 January 2011 The venue shouldn't matter. If you're with good company, then the venue is irrelevant. Disagree. How many times have you and 'good company' walked into a bar and it being dead/shit, then walking out.
Finnegan Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 It's a bit of both for me. You do need good company but you wouldn't catch me dead in Liquid.
ajthefox Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 I you're smashed and with the right people it's usually a good night but thats not to say venue choice doesn't matter at all.
BoneDog Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 As long as there's some granny there with a blue or purple rinse who lifts the front of her skirt up at about 11.20pm showing some massive knickers while shouting "Weyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" then I'm happy.
Zingari Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 As long as there's some granny there with a blue or purple rinse who lifts the front of her skirt up at about 11.20pm showing some massive knickers while shouting "Weyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" then I'm happy. it's not so funny when it's your own mother in law
Fosse Boy Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 LMFAO blasting out on the top floor of Mosh last night. Not cool.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Got a few mates coming to stay on Friday night and we're going to be heading out. Problem is, I've never been out in Leicester on a Friday night and I know that there isn't anywhere that good on a Friday night in Loughborough which is the other option... So my question is simple: where would people recommend we end up? (Loughborough or Leicester) We like: cheap drinks, 80s music, cheesy music, indie music, women 18-35, somewhere a bit grimy We dislike: chart/pop music, expensive drinks, plastic girls, heavy metal/rock, shiny 'superclubs' I've taken them to Fan Club in Leicester a couple of times before and that went down fairly well but there was a noticeably older crowd (we're all 24/25) so wouldn't mind somewhere new. Over to you people of Foxestalk!
