Legend_in_blue Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 1.5m i9s not alot at all. If you want a 20 goals a season striker, expect to pay a lot, lot more. Agreed. And neither is £2million for a striker who scored close to 30 in league 1 imo. MM splash the cash!!!
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 If MM wants to make an impact on this league he will have to pay that kind of money but iam afraid he wants the cheapest other option and that is 5 loan players.IMO i dont think this guy his so wealthy has some people make out he says he as a big desire to get city back into the premiership well if thats the case he as to invest in good quailty young players othwise they are no going to get there as quick as he thinks
Joe. Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Yeah Hume was shit! I hate players who are scoring goals in a terrible side, they piss on my cornflakes big time. Top scorer for 3 seasons running what a ****.We don't need players who can score goals as we have Matty Fryatt & he is really really good & I think he will score lots of goals because he is great. Hopefully we can stave off the interest of the Champions League sides & keep him. :city: :fox:
Kilworthfox Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Joe, just when I think that FT has lost all the decent members who actually get sarcasm you come along and sort of restore any faith I have in the FT community. Top man Joe
Bert Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Joe, just when I think that FT has lost all the decent members who actually get sarcasm you come along and sort of restore any faith I have in the FT community.Top man Joe Or maybe, when you're being sarcastic, people don't get it?
Kilworthfox Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Or maybe, when you're being sarcastic, people don't get it? There are many one here Bert that don't.
StanSP Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 There are many one here Bert that don't. True. Some people take things too seriously.
Joe. Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 True. Some people take things too seriously. Hilarious.Nowhere does it say that a full comprehensvie song-by-song review must be done. Oh and saying I'm a Pendulum fan firstly isn't wholly true, and secondly has no relevance to this topic.
Kilworthfox Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 True. Some people take things too seriously. on the filp side I think Keogh is a really good player, and given the chance he could become a worthy edition to our side. We lack goals up front, I think a few of our supporters are under the impression that because Fryatt scored 27 goals last season he will do again! The gulf in class between L1 & the Championship is big, and I think we need much better players to even think about getting into the top half, let alone promotion, IMO that is a pipe dream. Keogh would be the type of class of player that would justify such optimism. If he would cost £1.5M I think that would be a fair price
Bert Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 To be fair, I think the only people that have met Kilworth know not to take him seriously.

Bert Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Explain Colchester 06-07 Bristol City 07-08 & Swansea 08-09 then. Kilworth was making a point about strikers more than anything.
Koke Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Sheffield Utd are set to pay £1.8m for Tommy Smith. Players at this level don't come cheap anymore.
Ozwin Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 I thought it was Sheff Wednesday who were after him? Nice little slap in the face if United got him instead.
Kilworthfox Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Wolves have dismissed speculation linking them with a £1.5m move for Leicester City striker Andrew Keogh. The Independent Well researched! It is even on the BBC interactive like that as well!
The Bear Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 1.5m i9s not alot at all. If you want a 20 goals a season striker, expect to pay a lot, lot more. We picked up Ebanks-Blake for £1.5m - 38 goals in 61 games Keogh is not, I repeat not, a goalscorer. He is a link/support striker who creates space for his team-mates with his movement, and chips in with a few himself. His goals record at Wolves in the Championship averages about 1 in 4. He would get you maybe 10-12 in a season but not many more IMO.

C-man Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Agreed. And neither is £2million for a striker who scored close to 30 in league 1 imo. MM splash the cash!!! What fucking cash? Over the past three years we've made 3 consecutive losses culminating in a £14.2m loss last year, and we will continue to do so whilst we are not in the Premiership. What do you not understand about that?
The Bear Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 out of curiosity, does he play best with the target man (iwelumo / howard) . .or the goalscorer (ebanks-blake / fryatt) ?? The goalscorer.
Candidcamera Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Wolves are about to start a tour abroad it will be interesting to see if Keogh goes with them. I can't think why East Midlands News had this information. I suspect it was from the club and official. Perhaps to unsettle the players involved or perhaps because it is just a matter of time before they join City. I hope the latter. Both would be excellent signings.

The Bear Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Keogh is going on the tour, they left last night (flew to Australia). http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~1713235,00.html
