Wolves1877 Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 Works hard but is selfish and occasionally scores good goals so judging by the ridiculous idol worship of Hume and Gudjonsson I've witnessed at this club, he'd probably be hailed as the second coming. Hi Guys, Wolves fan here. Firstly, can i please correct the chap above obviously you have never seen Keogh play because he is genuinely as unselfish as a centre forward gets. More often than not he passes when he should be shooting. Andy Keogh is a fantastic team player and has the highest work rate from anyone within our squad. Secondly, there is no way i can see any truth in this story. He will have a big job to do next season for wolves coming off the bench next season. Also, he is loved by Mick McCarthy so can't see him going anywhere especially for 1.5 million.
The Bear Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 I too would be a little suprised to see him be sold, but then again £1.5m is about his price if our own MM sees fit to let him go. I think a loan would be more likely personally. He played a bigger part in the 2nd half of last season when Iwelumo got injured and ran out of form. He didn't play out wide much, only if he was brought on as a sub or moved there because we needed 3 forwards on the pitch. As a player his work-rate and unselfishness are invaluable, but it does lead to a lack of goals on his part, not helped by some powderpuff finishing at times. He likes to play off the shoulder of the last defender and run onto balls over the top as well as working the channels chasing everything down. Definitely more of a support striker and link player than a goalscorer, but he does score some good goals when he's on his game. He scored two great ones against Derby at the end of last season which all but promoted us. The comparison to Kuyt is a good one as they have a similar style and work-rate, but Kuyt is a better finisher obviously.

I was at the wolves 4-1 game and he destroyed us! i'm starting to get excited about this season now (helped season ticket came yesterday too!) if we get him how about a cheeky bid for billy sharp those two were brilliant together when s****horpe came up from league 1 few years back. as for needing a midfielder bit far fetched but didi hamann been released
