Leicesterboi Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 PLEASE COULD A MOD OR ADMIN START THIS AS A NEW TOPIC AS I AM UNABLE TO DO SO. After signing Carlos Tevez, Manchester City have confirmed that Ched Evans will be allowed to leave on loan and he is currently in contact with 1 Premier League club believed to be Burnley and 2 CCC Clubs being Coventry and Leicester along with Norwich of League 1 where he spent his break through season 2 years ago. I would definalty take him on a season long loan, he would be a very decent acquisition. I hope we beat Burnley to him.
Lambo Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Ched was fantastic when we had him on loan at Norwich, if only that were true and we could get him back. I think you have a great chance of getting him and he'll get you at least 15 goals. I mean he got double figures for us in a side who's only creative outlet was Darren Huckerby.
Leicesterboi Posted 14 July 2009 Author Posted 14 July 2009 It was said at a Manchester City Q&A fans evening I went to as part of my Uni research. Hughes said that Evans would be going out on loan if they seal the signing of 1 striker they are in talks with (assuming this was Tevez ofcourse). In terms of the clubs linked with, these were on Teletext on their transfer talk.

He's a quality striker, international too and I'm sure he could provide the goals we need. Definitely the sort of striker we need at the club. Proven in champ and also has prem experience so far better than any of the others we've been linked with recently. Here's hoping!
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 We definetly need another striker or two and he is someone that we need. Although he isn't a big lad like Stevie, he is a natural goalscorer and I think we should get him in! Championship expirience with Norwich where he proved he could score goals and now we are being realistic in trying to get players in from premiership clubs.
ob1kanobe0 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 quality finish, has the Izzet's about him. long ranger. good composure. Hat trick. seen him take 5 good penalties now. Sign him up!I'd offer 1mill now.
jimmer Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Now this is more like it, year long loan with first option to buy (in our dreams!). This is def a striker I would be excited about getting in. Get the deal done Mandy
Manderic's pants Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Definitely a signing worth churning some pant cheese over.
Salieri Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Would be delighted if we could get this lad in on loan. But if a Prem club show interest (even Burnley!) he will surely opt to go there.
Daggers Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Fuck me. The first rumour which has had me punching a hole in my trousers. I don't believe we stand a chance in hell of getting him here but christ-alive I'd adore it if we did.
Finnegan Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I think it goes without saying I will actually spuff my cotton panties if this ever became a reality. I'd offer 1mill now. lol lol
Isopen Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 There's only one reason I Hope we don't get him. Was chatting to a Cardiff fan last week, and he was mentioned as one of their targets
Finnegan Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 There's only one reason I Hope we don't get him. My going nuts or the likely fee?
ob1kanobe0 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I think it goes without saying I will actually spuff my cotton panties if this ever became a reality. lol lol I didn't mean 1 steel mill

Leicesterboi Posted 15 July 2009 Author Posted 15 July 2009 Latest Development: As part of my uni degree in Sports Journalism, I am currently working for the local Manchester Evening Newspaper. The word coming out of the City of Manchester Stadium is that Ched Evans would prefer a permanent move as he see's his chances at City, what with their spending power, very limited. In terms of Leicester, it appears we would not want to pay the £4million asking price and are looking more in the region of £2.5million. However, Burnley,Cardiff & Sheff Utd look more likely to capture his signature due to their willigness to match the fee. Evans himself would prefer a move to either Leicester or Sheff Utd as he doesn't want to move too far. All I can say is Milan get your chequebook out!! I'll keep you posted.

And I doubt the £32 I spent at the club shop today will make a lot of difference tbh. It would make a big statement if he did, but it's not going to happen. I wouldn't say £4 million is over-priced either. Not if Chopra went for that money and he's not even prolific at any level.
Finnegan Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 I'm only not getting excited because this definitely isn't happening. Though... any chance to show this:

Surely Burnley is nearer than us and are also in the Prem. I take it that geography is not part of your course then.
lou Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 If this happens I'll streak naked across the pitch on the 1st home game
