davieG Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 That's great news. I remember central football night on ITV with Stan the man. Great programme. The Beeb are pulling all the right strings at the moment. Hopefully they'll strip some of the padding out of Saturday night programme.
Guest Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Oh dear Middlesboro Such a soft goal it was untrue
davieG Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Down to 5th. 5th v's 3rd next week - let's hope it turns out better than the 3rd v's 4th game.
Corky Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 That was Middlesbrough's 6th home defeat of the season. Before Christmas as well.
Fox92 Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 That was Middlesbrough's 6th home defeat of the season. Before Christmas as well. Terrible. Burke scored again as well. He must have a few this season now. My mate told me at college that if anybody buys a half season ticket at Middlesborough, and they loose 4 home games in a row, you get your money back or something. Anyway, Cardiff will be a real test on Saturday. I would most certainly take a draw.
Ultra Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 So would I. Our current record against other top 6 sides is not great.
Edmund Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Anybody else watch the West Brom - QPR match? Finished 2-2, harsh on QPR considering 3 mins injury time and then conceding in the 94th minute. Probably the best result for us in terms of league standings.

True, they played the better football over the 90 minutes but just didn't take their chances. I'm sure that was Mattock's long ball for the assist.

I still reckon we've got more chance of a playoff spot than reaching 2nd place so we want to try and get as far away from the pack as possible.
Finchy Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 It was only just in the 94th minute and QPR made a sub so it's not harsh at all really. It was coming though, after they went 2-0 up QPR seemed to just panic for the rest of the game. Not a bad result for us.

I agree the ref got it spot on, what I meant was it was harsh in general conceeding a goal with virtually the last kick of the game
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Cracking match great advertisment for Championship football. WBA had plenty of chances towards the end so wasn't that surprised to see them equalise. I'm a massive rap for Thomas playing on the left for WBA caused plenty of issues for the QPR defence.

Seen better. First half of this match wasn't great. Good in patches.

Super_horns Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Plymouth have been hit with a transfer embargo...over unpaid debts. We have an AGM tonight which could make or break the club. Hoping for some positive news but the major shareholders don't get on at all which is worrying (our former chairman got kicked off by the Russos last year and rumours are he might be back for some kind of "revenge")

Good luck to you, I like watford.
Super_horns Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 On the same day they announced a stadium expansion.... funny funny club. Reading their site it seems most of the fans and club appear to think its only a short-term problem over disputed payments from a whille back. But then something minor can turn nasty and they are in a position where players are needed to try and stay up.
Super_horns Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Our board have now resigned...goodness know what this means now but probably not good if Mr Simpson comes back along with Lord Ashcroft.
StanSP Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Apparently Plymouth have been under a transfer embargo for a few weeks now. And they're relying on payments from other clubs. From a Plymouth fan on another forum: This is relatively old news that was being reported on many news sites yesterday, but the embargo has been in place for weeks. It's rather unclear at the situation what it is but it doesn't seem to big problem at the moment. ...I'm not sure if Hull have completely paid us for Halmosi. I'm thinking unpaid debts from other clubs which has a chain effect on them is partly to blame.
Edmund Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5774227,00.html Peterborough striker Aaron Mclean has handed in a transfer request at London Road. Sign him up...
SirBlueFoxington Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Reading just announced they have sacked Brendan Rodgers. Not really a surprise, it was always coming.
