Matt Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Newcastle 5 - 0 Cardiff 5-1 Cardiff making a dramatic comeback
StanSP Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Cardiff undo their performance/goal difference from when they beat Bristol City 6-0
BoneDog Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 That's what you call a backlash! 3-0 in 15 mins. Makes our performance look even better considering we had 10 men for most of the game as well. It has been confirmed (as if we didn't already know it) that we were sensational against Newcastle
Matt Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 It has been confirmed (as if we didn't already know it) that we were sensational against Newcastle But were shit (Apparently) and lost against Cardiff.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 I think we should be grateful that Hughton left out the likes of Lovenkrands and Gutierrez for Smith and Butt against us last Saturday.
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Results going are way at present. If it stays the same we'll be back in the playoff places.
Corky Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Well, Swansea won, Sheff Utd drew, obviously Blackpool lost. With Cardiff losing last night it's been a good weekend.
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 http://www.skysports.com/football/league/0...0,11687,00.html Hats off to Barnsley, considering they had a poor start to the season their sitting in 8th with a game in hand over Blackpool.

Yep, they've doing great since Robins tookover. Only 3 points off us now!
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Also with Reading currently winning 2-1, by the end of tonight there will only be 13 points separating relegation from the playoffs. Stupidly tight league.
lcfc_jme Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 lol at Cliff Byrne's miss earlier. What a stupid fucking queer paedo he is.
tartanowl Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Question for the Forest fan who comes on here... Have you played like that all season? Or have we just seen you on off days? That's 4 points you've very fortunately taken off us this season and both times you've been absolutely garbage. Fair play to you for picking up the result yesterday but you were poor like you were at Hillsborough again. It makes me wonder where your tremendous form has come from? A penalty that never was is all that separated us and we deserved at least a point. You were very fortunate to win yesterday.

A penalty that never was is all that separated us and we deserved at least a point. You were very fortunate to win yesterday. Ask around here how we can play. We all knew yesterday was going to be one of those, less attractive physical games especially given that we'd just been beaten by a side who did just that to us quite successfully. With that in mind I think Billy dropped some of our more creative players and put out a team to deal with that sort of thing. This type of approach has brought us many points this year. If we keep thing tight, we're always going to cause trouble at the other end the attacking players we have. I agree we were fortunate to get all 3 points but it was a crap game and picking up points in crap games is how teams get promoted. What did you make of the ref? I particularly enjoyed his arbitrary approach to awarding throw ins. "Forest had the last one, so this must be Wednesdays." regardless of who may of kicked it out. He got a standing ovation from the trent end for getting one right! ;D
The Doctor Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Watching the highlights on SSN yesterday, mattock was very lucky not to get sent off for a challenge much worse than the Thomas one before the goal.

He got a standing ovation from the trent end for getting one right! ;D Absolutely. If you play like that and still pick up points it's the sign of a very good side. Trevor Kettle has been shite for years. He gave both sides an embarassing number of wrong decisions. Unfortunately for us ours was the most costly. I don't like to have a go at refs normally because they have a very difficult job to do, but he was disgracefully bad all game. That was one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen for years. Blackpool for us at Hillsborough on Tuesday night now. Charlie Adam is suspended. Hopefully it will be our second double of the season!
tartanowl Posted 8 February 2010 Posted 8 February 2010 http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/foot...-WEDNESDAY.html THERE is a group on the Facebook website called "Trevor Kettle Is Not Fit To Referee" with 1,500 members. Expect 3,000 Wednesday fans, plus the club's players and management team, to join up today. And a few thousand Forest fans might decide to sign up, too, after this shocking display from the Berkshire official. Kettle awarded Forest a 23rd-minute penalty for a supposed handball by defender Darren Purse, which had the Wednesday contingent boiling in anger and frustration. And the Forest camp were shaking their heads in disbelief at the end, so baffled were they by the ref's constant and curious whistle-blowing. Wednesday boss Alan Irvine steamed: "There was only one man who though it was a penalty, unfortunately. I have had the benefit of watching it again and the ball has hit Darren on the back. "It knocked us out of our stride. For the next 10-15 minutes we struggled to cope with that and we got wrapped up in contesting every decision the referee made. "We got back our focus at half-time and we were in the ascendancy in the second half. I thought we might win it after getting back to 1-1." Wednesday discovered their composure to force their way back into the game after Dexter Blackstock converted the controversial spot-kick and deservedly equalised through Luke Varney. Blackstock's late winner kept Forest on the heels of West Brom though the striker was lucky to be still on the pitch. Forest boss Billy Davies was about to replace him with David McGoldrick but delayed the substitution momentarily and his top scorer came up with the winner. Davies said: "It was far from being a stroke of genius on my part. It was just a matter of commonsense. "We delayed the substitution for a free-kick to be taken. We kept him on long enough. Sometimes these things work out, sometimes they don't. "We were going to take him off because we have another game coming up on Tuesday. "This was always going to be a big psychological match after losing to Derby last week. "The one thing we did show was a lot of character. We couldn't get into playing our fluent football because of the stop-start nature of the game." Forest stuttered through the opening phase until Kettle intervened. Blackstock's volley looked to be on target until it hit Purse. The Wednesday defender half-turned his back on the shot and the ball appeared to hit him on the shoulder blade. To Wednesday's astonishment the referee pointed to the spot and Blackstock dispatched the penalty. The response from Wednesday was positive and it needed clever defending from Wes Morgan to deny Varney. The striker was within sight of Lee Camp's goal but Morgan forced him wide and then put in an excellent block as Varney shot. Robbie Earnshaw threatened from a free-kick which Grant saved at the near post but it was the Forest goal which survived a narrow escape three minutes after the interval. Darren Potter's free-kick flicked off the defensive wall and smashed against the bar. But Blackstock had the final word. The tenacious Forest striker was first to meet Chris Cohen's free-kick and, though Grant saved his header, he was first to react and scramble the winner over the line. It gave Forest their seventh straight home win in the league and, on the back of their ill-tempered defeat at Derby a week earlier, peace and harmony were restored at the City Ground. Irvine became the victim of the curse of the manager- of-the-month award. He was given it after winning four out of five games since taking over. Despite this defeat there is a new mood of optimism at the club.
RedHux Posted 8 February 2010 Posted 8 February 2010 Yea that group did come up after the game. The match was never going to be any kind of entertainment with his seemingly random whistle blowing. I'm just glad we got the big decision. Bring on Chaventry.

Please It'll be back to one up front and one just off him for this. Billy's tried and tested away formula of keep it tight and hope the attacking players do their thing. Hopefully Raddy and Anderson will be back as well and then we'll get two or three past them.
