ousefox Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 I think we need about 27 points to guarentee playoffs now. We are safe from relegation if it is about the same points wise as last year
The Doctor Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 I think we need about 27 points to guarentee playoffs now. We are safe from relegation if it is about the same points wise as last year 75 points is more probably more than enough. 65+ is usually enough for top 8 and 78+ for automatic promotion. Mind you would quite like to see the play-offs stay the same for the rest of the season except WBA overtaking forest Semis of City V Forest Cardiff V Swansea Would be quality, though probably not as much as one of those ties being the final.
Scow Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 Mattock is awful. Grateful we have Bruno. He got raped by Haynes again and again. Haynes isn't particularly good; he's just very quick.
Corky Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 Bristol City aren't a bad side, especially at home. We did okay in getting a point there.
ousefox Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 Definately makes our point look better. Mattock was wank! Bruno is so much better. Tbh i can't think of anybody better in the league?
eleven points Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 Definately makes our point look better.Mattock was wank! Bruno is so much better. Tbh i can't think of anybody better in the league? Jose Enrique
Joe. Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Every game kicks off at 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. What's the world coming to? Even Newcastle are at it!
dandannieldanok Posted 27 February 2010 Posted 27 February 2010 Swansea now the lowest scorers in the league, but still sit 4th!
Corky Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Swansea now the lowest scorers in the league, but still sit 4th! Shows the benefit of having a very strong defence.
Matt Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Shows the benefit of having a very strong defence. Didn't we have one of the strongest defences in the league the season we were relegated?
Corky Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Didn't we have one of the strongest defences in the league the season we were relegated? Yes, fair enough But obviously Swansea are much better than we were at combining a strong defence with the ability to grind out wins.
davieG Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Only Newcastle (4) have lost fewer games is the more telling statistic - 5 out of 33 when we got relegated we'd lost 12 out of 33
Fosse Boy Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 My Palace informer tells me Warnock is definitely gone and Coppell is back again. EDIT: Judging by his latest facebook update they're getting Megson!
Matt Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Sky Sports News understands Queens Park Rangers have agreed compensation with Crystal Palace for manager Neil Warnock. It was revealed earlier on Monday that Rangers were close to reaching a deal with their financially-stricken Championship rivals after making an approach last week. Palace are in administration and Warnock's future has been far from certain for a number of weeks, but it would appear that he is now set to move. Mick Harford is currently in charge at Loftus Road after being named as their fourth manager in a turbulent season. Both 20th-placed QPR and Palace, who sit in 21st position, are battling relegation after the latter was hit with a 10-point deduction for going into administration. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_5997910,00.html
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Queens Park Rangers have appointed Neil Warnock as their fifth manager this season after agreeing compensation with Crystal Palace.Warnock, 61, has joined the Championship club on a three-and-a-half-year contract and replaces caretaker boss Mick Harford. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...qpr/8544436.stm All official then. Smart move by Warnock.
CosbehFox Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Smart move but I'd feel a bit sick if I was a Palace fan.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Smart move but I'd feel a bit sick if I was a Palace fan. Yes but they should be grateful for the compensation money, will help the club no end.
CosbehFox Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Forest sign George Boyd from Posh Still not a left back is it? What are Forest playing at. Plenty of decent players who can play left wing....yet no left back!
RedHux Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Still not a left back is it? What are Forest playing at. Plenty of decent players who can play left wing....yet no left back! This hasn't escaped our attention. Still, Peterborough fans rate this chap so there's no harm in having a 4th decent winger.... ...besides, Bennett will be back next year. he might be good, you never know /optimist hat.

Yes but Peterborough fans also believed they were a good team and would stave off relegation this year. Some were told - ridiculously - that they'd be competing for a second successive promotion, and swallowed that hook, line and sinker. Their beliefs means nothing. If Boyd could learn to pass the ball instead of thinking he's a one-man team, he may become a good player. As it stands, he was a small fish in a minute pond.
