Corky Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Great weekend for us, with Forest, Cardiff (obviously) and Blackpool losing, Swansea and Coventry only drawing at home. Oh, and Derby getting beaten again
Corky Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 They're Nottingham Forest, they keep losing away (not aimed at you RedHux, more at Raddy Van) Forest, Swansea, Blackpool and Coventry lost, Cardiff win- good night for us again.
Edmund Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Forest and West Brom are currently winning. Swansea are drawing. Elsewhere Doncaster are leading 1-0 at Sheffield United, meaning if results stay the same, they will be 1 point behind Cardiff in 7th.
davieG Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 WBA 3-1 any talk of a chance of auto promo was some what pipe dreaming. Blackpool just about to say goodbye to their chance of a play off losing 2-0 at home to the Palace.
Edmund Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 WBA 3-1 any talk of a chance of auto promo was some what pipe dreaming. 3-2 now
Ozwin Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 QPR in control apparently. Come on late goal to compleely deflate Swansea.
Edmund Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 A win tomorrow will put us ten points clear of the chasing pack, extending our distance by 2 points and still with a game in hand.
Ozwin Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Wow, hypothetically we could go more than 13 points clear in a few weeks. Who'd have thought it?!
C-man Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Hypothetically we could be within 2 points of 7th if we start that game. Let's not kid ourselves we've got no 'easy' games left and this home double could sort us out good n proper.

MC Prussian Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Bristol City doing quite well against Newcastle at the moment and are leading. They even had the chance of pulling 2-0 away.
Ozwin Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 I assume he means we could lose all our games up until our game in hand and the teams behind us could win all theirs and then we'd be 2 points ahead of 7th.
C-man Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 I assume he means we could lose all our games up until our game in hand and the teams behind us could win all theirs and then we'd be 2 points ahead of 7th. I don't know, I didn't do the exact maths because the word COULD is pointless in football, particularly in this league.
Ozwin Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Yeah, I get your point though. Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism.
Edmund Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 I assume he means we could lose all our games up until our game in hand and the teams behind us could win all theirs and then we'd be 2 points ahead of 7th. Still doesn't make any sense. Oh well. I don't know, I didn't do the exact maths because the word COULD is pointless in football, particularly in this league. True but there's nothing wrong with doing the maths.
Edmund Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Oh dear, Bristol have thrown away their 2-0 lead. Still 15 mins to go, Newcastle have the momentum.
The Doctor Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 Wow, hypothetically we could go more than 13 points clear in a few weeks. Who'd have thought it?! we could actually qualify for the play-offs if we win all our remaining games this month and the results in midweek and next saturday go for us. win tomorrow and we are 10 points clear with the chasing pack having 24 left to play for Should sheff u, middlesboro and blackpool lose next tuesday and we win then we're 13 points clear with 21 points left to play for Defeats again for boro, sheff u and blackpool combined with victory for us next saturday gives us a 16 point lead with 18 left then victory against cardiff would give us a 19 point lead with 18 points to play for.

You forget to look at Doncaster, Coventry, Barnsley, Reading, Preston etc. who could go past all of Boro, Sheff U and Blackpool if they go on such a barren run...

shen Posted 20 March 2010 Posted 20 March 2010 so i did but the point remains the same - win our next 4 and if results go our way we'll be in the play-offs. I don't even think it's mathematically possible that no side below 6th would pass the 53 point mark after the next four matches
