Hmm, only recently we've been discussing maybe moving to Worsley as its a so-called 'nice' area

Maybe time for a rethink huh? ;)

I have lived in 'LE3' for almost ten years and have never been burgled once or had any other trouble for that matter.

I lived on New Parks for years and never had any bother. My Dad lived in a lovely village near Lutterworth in a nice house and has been done over a few times and has had his car damaged. It doesnt always follow the rough areas are the worst hit.

I have been burgled recently but we didnt have any trouble for 7 years.... we live in LE2.

I hope you continue to not have any trouble :)

In fairness, LE3 is probably the most populated postcode area in Leicester. If memory serves from the last time I looked at a postcode map, LE3 Is anything stretching from the south of Braunstone Town, up Narboro Rd, West End, Dane Hills, up Abbey Lane, and up Beamont Leys Lane to Beaumont Leys, then all the way west to LFE inclusive. SO you have Braunstone Estate, Kirby Frith and Beaumont Leys all within those boundaries. So no surprise there then.

and New Parks surely? Beaumont Leys is LE5 or 7 I think?

Oh yeah AND New Parks

and I think you may be right about Beaumont Leys... I'm now thinking that LE3 is everything in an almost quartered wedge between Narborough Rd and King Richards/Glenfield Rd, all the way out to the ring road

I thought that the Leys was LE4 like Mowmacre Hill and Birstall.

Lived in LE3 all my life and had numerous bikes stolen from gardens etc.

Lived in Thorpe Astley for a while and it was probably the only place within LE3 where you could leave a push bike on the front lawn for half an hour and expect it to be there.

I'd imagine LE1, LE2 and LE4 are quite bad too, being in and around the city center?

LE2 covers both Highfields and Stoneygate, so it's both extremes really.

I don't think there's anywhere that doesn't suffer from burglaries to some extent. Where my folks live, in a reasonably nice part of Charnwood, there is zero crime apart from burglaries, and of their row of 10 houses, I think only one hasn't been burgled at some point.

You can't win, really. If you live somewhere shit you're more likely to get burgled because there are loads of dodgy people close by, and if you live somewhere nice, burglars are interested because they think you'll have good stuff to pinch.
