Corky Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Isn't that the Liverpool one I mentioned They played Middlesbrough
davieG Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 No it was against Boro. They played Middlesbrough So which one were Liverpool involved in?
Bert Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Neil Warnock had every right to kick off but the way he goes about things does him no favours at all. I will never forgive him for dancing upon our grave so he deserves all he gets in my opinion, same with Dennis Wise and the same with anyone else who's shat on us. Yes, it is disgraceful that none of the officials saw this but I don't really give a shit about Palace and I don't really give a shit about Warnock, justice has pretty much been done in my eyes. I'm sure you'd feel the same if this happened to us.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 An utter disgrace that people can not see a goal and give it. Warnock is right, but he should draw the line at having a go at Bristol City, as should Simon Jordan.
Katy Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 I'm sure you'd feel the same if this happened to us. I would but I don't support Palace and I dislike Warnock. Justice.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 I actually think there's something to be said for the sportsmanship element in all this. Bristol City should have done something similar to what we did against Forest last season, but obviously such sparsely found gestures of fair play seem to be fairly alien to the realms of professional football in this era.
lildave3 Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 I don't think any blame can be placed at Bristol City's door at all.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 I don't think any blame can be placed at Bristol City's door at all. I'm not saying they should be blamed, I just think some kind of compensating action would have been commendable.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 I'm not saying they should be blamed, I just think some kind of compensating action would have been commendable. I see what you are saying but where do you draw the line at this type of situation? What we done against Forest was a totally different situation to this so comparing the two is quite daft. Saying Bristol City should of gave Palace a goal is the same as United giving Spurs a goal when Pedro Mendes' long ranger went clearly in against Roy Caroll but wasnt given. It would be happening all the time.

What I'm saying is that I think managers (and players too I guess) should have a concept of sportsmanship and should be more prone to make sportsmanlike gestures in general (like when Di Canio refused to hit the ball into an open net because the keeper was down injured). I'm not saying teams should automatically gift their opponents a goal every time the ref makes a howler as that would be stupid, but I just think the whole 'fair play' ethic that's preached about by seemingly every governing body under the sun should be encouraged to be put into use more practically on the field of play when truly terrible decisions such as this one come about. Obviously, it's a difficult one when there's so much at stake in that level of football, and every team wants decisions to go in their favour no matter how good or bad, but I just think a little more conscientiousness in the professional game would be welcome, that's all.

Gary Johnson claimed that they had a perfect goal ruled out for offside meaning that the result would still have been a Bristol City win, although I feel the F.A should allow this game to be replayed as this hasn't even got the 'was it all over the line' debate as it was quite clearly a goal. Funny to laugh at Warnock and Jordan having a mardy.

Sparky Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 We had slightly similar incident last season on a sunday morning , A shot went over the line only for a defender to clear straight to our striker who blasted in the rebound , The female ref spoke to the opposition linesman and asked him if the original shot went over the line , He blatently cheated and said no. The ref gave a goal kick I went beserk and said does not matter if the 1st shot didnt go in we put in the rebound in the same incident of which the ref said "no, different passage of play" I then asked why she had given a goal kick when the ball lay in the back of the net , to which she started waving yellow cards like they were going out of fashion. The opposition got slightly rowdy at her just before half time so she abandoned it Didnt mind to much as we won the rearranged tie 7-1 and i got a hat trick. Well done ref

There have been many goals that have crossed the line clearly but they havent been given, do you think if Martin Jol had complained about the incident at Old Trafford he would of got a replay? And come on that was clearly over the line. The Ref has had a stinker and should never referee again if he can't see that the ball did go in but life's a bitch Neil Warnock and in his case he has probably married one. Warnock need's to move on from this because he is the type of idiot to let this go on for the whole season and let it hamper Palace's chance's of promotion.

I know what your saying, I think there should be something done to prevent things like this happening to much more. Also I agree with you saying Warnock needs to move on, I can see them loosing their next couple of games (not that i know who they've got)

Sly Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 For me the guy is a hypocrite, I suppose we all recall the game when Warnock had Sheff Utd players feigh injury or get sent off to the point they were reducded to 6 men when they were losing to West Brom a few years ago. The guy is a geniune tosser, what goes around, comes around!!
