topharry123 Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 they conceded 3 goals tonight against a lower opposition than us which is very pleasing. They are not very strong at the back in my opinion, and with them having a mini striker crisis we can fully exploit them i do believe. as the previous poster said, a great time to play them, fingers x'd we can go and get something!
Ozwin Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Is Ameobi out for the Monday game then? I saw he got injured on SSN earlier and was praying he was out for at least a week.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 According to NUFC.com the injuries weren't too bad, could definately do with ameobi out that would give us a big boost http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1770170,00.html
Dr The Singh Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 The first real test of the season, if we can get a point then I will be more then pleased. I can imagine us creating a few chances but were wasteful, so the key to the game for me is Fryatt, if he takes his chances, we may get the victory!!
samjohnson Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 2-1 to Leicester... Hoping that this will be the shock result that Newcastle need
lou Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 I think we will battle and give them a shock defeat too! Hope so anyway!
flanimal Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 If it's on the telly, Leicester will probably play shit.
CosbehFox Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 A good spirited effort but methinks a 1-0 loss despite playing well. Be interesting to see the battle of midfield....Newcastle have Nolan, Smith and Barton (plus Jonas) all there whilst we have Oaks, Wellens and depending on form Dyer/N'Guessan/Adams. Would like us to really give their defence a good workover with the poor likes of Coco the Clown. Think Brown will struggle a bit as well given the athleticism of Newky's forwards.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Nil points from this one for me Of course I wont be thinking that in the stadium come kick off, but I can only see us losing, nothing to do with Preston, but Newcastle are a very good side this season, contrary to what everyone thought. 3-1 loss
David Guiza Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 I can either see it being a solid defensive performance maybe sneaking a 1-0 or 0-0 draw. But my head says 2-0 Newcastle.
dogadug Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 YES! Its official, Their dangerous winger Jonas Gutierrez is officialy out of the Leicester match with a torn hamstring , if he'd of played, I hate to say it but he would have ripped Berner or Neilsson to shreads. And apparently, according to the newcastle medical team there is a 'very high chance' that Ameobi has suffered a broken foot, which would rule him out as well, but this is not official yet. This news really boosts our chances.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 Voted a loss before this news. Steve Howard winning fitness raceFriday, August 28, 2009, 08:00 Comment on this story Steve Howard is winning his race to be fit for Monday night's clash with his hometown club Newcastle United. It was feared the Leicester City striker would be out for several weeks after he limped off with a hamstring injury at Sheffield United last week. However, Howard has returned to training and is hopeful of lining up against the club he supported as a boy. Durham-born Howard was a season-ticket holder at Newcastle until his football career took off at Tow Law Town and then Hartlepool United, and the former roofer is looking forward to making only his second appearance at St James' Park. "I am hoping I will be back and involved in some way on Monday," he said. "I tweaked my hamstring at Sheffield United but the physio team have worked incredibly hard on it, and it is coming on really well. "I am back training and I had a really tough session yesterday morning. I was running at full pelt. I was shattered afterwards. "I am happy with how my recovery is going and I am hoping I will be involved." Howard will face more competition for a starting place after the arrivals of Paul Gallagher and Yann Kermorgant during his absence. Gallagher signed last week for an undisclosed fee from Blackburn Rovers, while boss Nigel Pearson further bolstered his forward line by snapping up free agent Kermorgant on Monday. Howard has welcomed the competition and has vowed to work hard to regain his place in the starting line-up. "The manager has brought in a couple of new strikers and they are good additions," he said. "It is good to have competition to keep everyone on their toes and I have faced this challenge so many times in my career. "It gives you a big incentive to keep pushing on and working hard, and I will not shy away from the challenge. "I just concentrate on getting my head down and working as hard as I possibly can." It is still not known how long teenage striker Martyn Waghorn will be out of action after he also limped out of last week's 1-1 draw at Brammall Lane. The 19-year-old is loan from Sunderland until January 11. Would make a big difference to the outcome with their shaky defence. Could even sneak this one imo.
ozleicester Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 Fook it.. i voted draw... but they will be sh*tting themselves, imagine how they feel.. a quality club, playing good football is coming to town. They will be nervous about dropping the game and we are going to go in there and slap em round and walk away with 3 goals and 3 points. Tuesday is now going to be a sickie CMON YOU FOXES!!!!!!!
dogadug Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 I have got the latest team news for Newastle, and all I can say, is that its looking great for us Leicester fans All 3 of their strikers are out, Ameobi with a stress fracture, Carroll with a groin problem, and Xisco with a groin problem Also, Gutierrez is out with a hamstring problem. COME ON YOU FOXES!!!!!!
Father Ted Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 After all the injury news I am now really optimistic about this and I reckon we can tear them apart!! 2-0 CitY!!
Ozwin Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 I love that saying ^ I must've heard it about 10 times in the last week.
Koke Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 I love that saying ^ I must've heard it about 10 times in the last week. I've said it at least 10 times in the last week.
Radovan's Caravan Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 they were awful defensively tonight and have now lost ameobi so i think we have a realistic chance of taking all three points.Gallagher and Oakley to score in a 2-1 win. Nolan for them. Might be on a minibus heading back to the Reebok by then. Son of Smeg is trying to set up a loan deal by all accounts. Looking good for Arkan's boys But you have to feel sorry for Mike Ashley. No way will Hall, Shepherd and other allies of the Geordie 'Firm' ever allow him to walk away from this Northern Crock with £100 million. And, at the very least, that means NUFC staying put in the Chumpionship.
bigneville Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Very similar situation to Sheff Utd for me. Any points we get out of the game I see as a bonus.
