josh_baskin Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Funny though that there was and never is ever any mention of Shearer's actual managerial record from last season.
Milans Foxes Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Birtles has always been a complete and utter willy puller to us!!! Almost everything that came out of his mouth last night was a nasty dig at Leicester. He used to wind me up on the century fm phone in he used to do with the birch years ago! He is a massive forest fan and he isn't ashamed of talking utter bollocks just to make us look bad! I would happily punch his smug face if I bumped into him somewhere!
Raj Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Hope the people who moan about Sky dont actually have a subscription with them???? <_<
Guest Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Hope the people who moan about Sky dont actually have a subscription with them???? <_< We haven't got Sky. So there.
davieG Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Hope the people who moan about Sky dont actually have a subscription with them???? <_< Why not? If you purchase anything and you're not satisfied with the product you're entitled to moan. That said we shouldn't be surprised they're not the only culprits the media is full of celebrity sycophants and generally the public lap it up so indirectly anyone who takes an overly keen interest in the celebrity is partly to blame - celebrity has been proven to sell. I also doubt many neutrals were interested in Leicester City anyway unless they had a greater hatred of Newcastle than Leicester.
Criggers Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Funny though that there was and never is ever any mention of Shearer's actual managerial record from last season. That is true. Commentary was awful, extremely biased. The post match was bloody awful. I don't want to rant about how we didnt get a mention because it would have been the same for everyone. It was just a f*****g ridiculous love in for the "hard done to" geordies. Dowie deserves some credit though because I can specifically remember him saying that Newcastle "edged it". It's beyond me how they could big them up so much when they really did not look that spectacular. Don't get me wrong, if we lost 6-0 then fair enough.... But winning 1-0 at home against the newly promoted side with an "injury ravaged" team that had "10 former premiership players" (what?! ) in it does not justify the kind of big up Newcastle got. At least we can be safe in the knowledge that after they lose in the play offs this season they won't receive half the attention that they are getting this year. Nor will they have half the players. Mind you if they don't go straight back up this year, it will only be another season after that before we can expect to see them getting this sort of "Sky love" treatment in League 1

Get Freeview.....and dodgy internet sites to watch your football....
dandannieldanok Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 There are so many things more fundamentally worse with Sky Tv and its role in football today than a couple of nobdoy commentators. Sky Tv is ruining football.
The Doctor Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 the commentators were a f-ing joke. i thought the radio leicester commentary was pretty bias but at least they do actually mention some of the better play by the opposition. the closest the got to giving city any praise was saying how we have two "out and out wingers" on the pitch (despite the fact the dyer spent longer in the centre of the park than on the wing) and even then it was followed by "but they aren't using them properly so we're going to go back to the geordie w@nk fest." it's not even as if newcastle are that bigger club, other than a couple of seasons in the champions league they have done nothing for 2 generations. As much as i hate saying this ,forest and derby have done substatially more in that time period than newcastle but they only time they so much as get a mention is when they play each other.
Father Ted Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Every match that we play on Sky, Peter Beagrie is always there and slagging off Leicester. Fcuk off back to Yorkshire you scummy twat!
davieG Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Cancel the fcuker. Its the only way they learn. Get Freeview.....and dodgy internet sites to watch your football.... Unfortunately Freeview doesn't work that well around my way, I can't get Virgin digital, my only other option to Sky is freestat which I believe doesn't have the coverage of freeview - not only that but my internet connection, at the very least would double in cost.
Babylon Posted 1 September 2009 Author Posted 1 September 2009 Every match that we play on Sky, Peter Beagrie is always there and slagging off Leicester. Fcuk off back to Yorkshire you scummy twat! I use to think he was quite fair to be honest. He was at half time, I didn't watch after the game though. I was busily preparing my Gary Birtles voodoo doll.

I've got Freesat because Freeview is a bit shit where I live. Works well, just miss out on SSN and Dave. Why would your internet connection double in cost?

Everyone else seems to be either dearer or unreliable.
portchy! Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 it kept makin out as if newcastle were so weak and they were the underdog and against all odds beat us with an amazing performance , there side was full of premiership quality players and i thought at times especially in the first half we played really well but all they would talk about is newcsatle united
Brainy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Don't think Birtles praised one LCFC player last night, he bummed Nile Ranger, yet failed to notice the worst player on the pitch (Joey Barton).
Fosse Boy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 They showed our fans once in the whole 90 minutes. Which was a shame as it looked like there was a good following. This was there quote "It looks like Leicester brought a good following with them tonight, but it is really a glamour tie for them and most teams heading here" (was something along those lines)
Father Ted Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I've got Freesat because Freeview is a bit shit where I live. Works well, just miss out on SSN and Dave. Why would your internet connection double in cost? The two best channels.
Super Arj Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I wonder if they've removed their tounge out of Nile Ranger's arse yet? he was good, not great.. look at the size of him.. it's what you would expect from someone that big
Daggers Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I fully expect the Toon Army to win the War Against Terror by the close of the transfer window.
davieG Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I fully expect the Toon Army to win the War Against Terror™ by the close of the transfer window. WE should send the Toon Army to Afghanistan.
Nick Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I have to admit, I was really annoyed because I subscribed to sky player for sky sports and movies and entertainment for 40 notes a month and the commentary made me want to throw the laptop out the window.
Shrenchel Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Sky in being run, presented and subscribed to by utter ****** shocker.
breaker7 Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Really pleased to see this topic. After the match last night I was in a seething rage - partly seeing us play pretty poorly and lose (for the first time for a while (yes except in the cup)) but more so for the UTTER DROSS dished out on Sky by all the t*ats on the programme. How on earth Leicester were enjoying a good spell when we didnt have the ball for 5 minutes I do not know and also near the end we were causing anxious moments for Newcastle - were we f**k ! Did we have a shot on target all second half ? Just getting angry again now thinking about it t*ats t*ats t*ats
