SwindonRed Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 What a bad decision for Simon Cox to go to WBA. He is 5th in the pecking order for strikers, put a bid for a loan move in January the guy is quality and doesn't deserve his current standing. Simon should not be a understudy to a couple of teenagers at WBA. Spoke to him last week, he regrets his move.
Webbo Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Tbh he'd probably be 5th choice here as well.
SwindonRed Posted 18 September 2009 Author Posted 18 September 2009 Maybe you are correct, may you are not ... Cant see you are scoring for fun at the moment, but you will know better of course because you watch your side week in week out. I saw both Leicester games and he tore you ragged, he did the same to Peterborough and S****horpe so obvious has the quality in this division. Will definitely go out on loan in January, lets hope he doesn't come out and bite you on the arse.

Pearson has climbed up inside Fryatt's arse and delights in telling all who listen that he can score at any level...forgetting to point out that Fryatt needs a helpful, slow defence first. And Cox pissed on his chips by saying he'd come here and then, like a conscientious teen fornicator, pulling out at the last moment. Pearson won't take him if he pleaded.

He had options, and he obviously chose the wrong one, not without a great deal of dicking about either. No sympathies for him whatsoever.
sdb Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 yep he's got what he deserved it seems. Would like him here (with a genuine desire from him to be a LCFC player) but with a hefty amount of strikers now on our books it aint gonna happen. And Pearson loves Fryatt and Howard.
Sir Fynwy Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Maybe Cox can convert to left back and cover for Joe M if he gets a stay at Hm's pleasure.

Fox You Forest Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Yeah, Cox has that effect on me too.
Craig Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Yeah, Cox has that effect on me too. I thought i'd got away with that one
Bryn Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 He would have had a real impact here as well. Shame. I'm still surprised we really struggled to find strikers this summer - surely they could see there was a real opportunity here, we really need a striker, they could have been the main man, and we're not exactly short of a few bob even if we're not rich per se.

He chose not to come here and if the bed he's chosen's made of nails so what if they poison his career?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Would have liked him, but now i dont think we need him. Knew it would be a poor move for him going WBA, wonder if the club regret it too.
Guest Posted 18 September 2009 Posted 18 September 2009 Cheap shot #1TommyG Cox Daggers takes the moral high ground
breadandcheese Posted 19 September 2009 Posted 19 September 2009 I'd still take him. Everyone can make a mistake, especially when young. Was he advised by an agent? We just don't know. I think he's quality and would love to see him partnering Fryatt up front.

The excuse of dumb footballers the world over, your agent is your employee so you tell him what you want, if you are too stupid to understand this you may as well mail 20% of everything you earn to the local incinerator.
Head Honcho Posted 19 September 2009 Posted 19 September 2009 Maybe he needs to stop thinking like a L1 player and maybe just maybe with a bit of hard work he'll get the breakthrough he thinks he deserves!

That's a bit daft. Too many people are acting like they've been turned down by a woman. Bitter and resentful. A lot of players, especially when starting out, listen to their agents. I'm not saying this was the case here as we don't know why he decided on West Brom rather than us. However, picking West Brom over us was a sensible choice as they are currently a bigger club than us, with better players. In 3-4 years time, hopefully our positions will be reversed, but at the time you can understand why he did it.

It's the attitude 'I've got an agent so don't have to think' that makes footballers look like idiots. If you take no responsibility for your own future then you are daft. PS. I don't care that Cox didn't sign for us, I'm only commenting on the general situation with players blaming agents for making poor choices.
dandannieldanok Posted 19 September 2009 Posted 19 September 2009 Let him rot. He chose not to come here and if the bed he's chosen's made of nails so what if they poison his career? Completely unnecessary, just because he didn't choose us doesn't mean we should be happy if his career goes down the pan. I'd have chosen WBA over us and sure many others would have.
