For me personally brown does seem half a yard short this season and im afraid would be my make way for tunchev, also today after wellens went off i thought NP got the set up wrong and should have left gallagher behind the front two and put adams out on the left but ultimately we seemed to have seriously slipped into the team of two half's,and its happening every game! or very nearly ie ipswich, barnsley, newcastle and so on,great one half non existent the next.

Fair enough assesment from me.

What? :S

It was apparently clear to everyone in the ground that it was Wellens going off that changed the game. I've seen your post after this but it's not true that we were completely dreadful from the 46th minute onwards.

Wellens calming influence on the ball really did help us out in the first half and we missed it when we went off.

People really seem to be forgetting the performance in the first half. We played a very respectable side at home in thia league off the park, without question. They were nowehere. We were far superior to them.

Our passing was a delight to watch. Some of the miserable people on this forum may have long forgotten that second goal. If you have, I feel for you. What a goal it was. One touch football and an abolsutely clinical finish from Fryatt.

Obviously the home team came gunning for us in the second half, what team wouldn't? Losing Wellens made a massive difference and it did shake us up. I won't argue that Pearson perhaps got it wrong, but the lashing we are taking at the moment just defies beleif after the first half performance.

Gutted to not take all three points, but thrilled we didn't lose the game in the end after the collapse.

I'm sorry but I did I say anything negative about the first half - No!.

They came out in the 2nd half like it was their last day on earth and we strolled out thinking we'd won the game. Yes Wellens going off was a big miss but our attitude was complacent from the 46th minute compared to our 1st half performance - certainly it was something I noticed and commented on almost immediately. So there was at least one person in the ground that thought differently :dunno:

I'm not lashing anyone, I just thought that collectively they took their eye off the ball, I'm stating it as I saw it, you saw it differently that's fine.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game as a spectacle and I thought we were superb in the first half.

Thoroughly entertaining match, a proper game of two halves.

Fryatt's second goal was quality, a real striker's finish. Luckily we managed to see both goals after we spent the early stages of the game leading a somewhat nomadic existance as we were shepherded around by utterly inept stewards (though one of them was sound to be fair) desperate for us to sit down in our allocated seats even though a father and two kids had already taken them. We ended up standing in the aisle at the back, although one of our mates was escorted to a seat on his own at a random point during the second half (I guess the stewards have supporter harassment quotas to fill or something).

Watford were brighter and better in the second half and inevitably we let them get to us.

Glad to see Dany get the equaliser with such a spectacular header too, he'd been playing his heart out since the moment he came on. Can't believe so many people left the game early and missed out on seeing such a majestic goal! lol

Obviously it's disappointing not to win given the position we were in at half time, but I'll take a six goal thriller and decent day out any day of week.

Oh, and Watford fans epitomise the term "sing when you're winning".

Brown out Tunch in, Also how about starting Waghorn and Fryatt. Howard didn't do much today, in my eyes he's the man you should bring on late in the game. I think NP was crazy to start Brown judging by his last few perfomances, he was also silly to bring off Fryatt, either he want's him to have a rest and stay super fit, or he's in love with big steve. :P

Brown has made 3 errors in 3 games....

get him out, and the TUNCH in.

howard is shit

should not have taken off fratt

Eh? Did you not see who set up the last goal? Fryatt was never going to score in that game second half, not a chance.

He wasn't at his best today it's true, but Watford did have three men marking him at some of our set pieces. What was he meant to do if the ball kept coming in his direction?

Besides, he's the best partner for Fryatt who keeps on banging the goals in.

He hasn't assisted Fryatt at all as of recently.

All that Howard is doing at the moment is lurking around on the pitch, waiting for hoof balls coming his way and leaning in, only to be brushed off by opposing defenders. With age, Howard becomes more and more technically limited and you cannot just rely on your heading qualities.

I fear that his best years have already passed by. :(

There's better partners for Fryatt, to be honest.

people think that Howard has a couple of good headers and hes had a great game... HE IS fooking SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the point of having a player up front who is a liability!?

Matty had a good enough game and taking him off was not a good decision,

Without Wellens, we looked so weak, we need to get backon track, i think we will beat preston at home, but boro away may be a tough test wven if they got shafted at their home ground

Who has said Howard had a great match?

Whilst I agree that it was suprising Fryatt was taken off when he was, his replacement did set up the third goal, so he played a part in the match.

Exactly my point (and many fans would admit it too).

Mind you it was a particulary poor effort 1st half shot wise (some sets of supporters would have been booing and abusive from once your 1st went in!)

Not sure if it had been Ellington (4.5 million reasons why we're skint) rather than Helguson coming on that the crowd would have got so loud and motivated.

Hopefully you had filled up with beer etc before enterning the ground and didn't need to use the toilets all at once (its pretty poor fare in the Viccy Road end)

alot of people have said that howard is great, not just in todays game, b ut in other games too, when he has played crap.

i apreciate that fryatts replacement set uo the game, but we need a player that can play with howard tha can play more part of the game for the team and not be a fooking cock like howard, I HATE HIM!!!!!!

Howard does a job for the team, it might not be pretty but it can be effective. He's not had a great couple of games recently, fair enough, but he's still useful to have around, and Fryatt's best form by a mile has been when Howard has been his partner, and he's said that himself.

Neilson looked our biggest culprit to me having just seen highlights

His long ball into the Watford box in the first half led to the penalty which Fryatt converted.

So he's part hero, part culprit.

Having watched the highlights it is clear that Gallagher wasn't close enough to the right back on the first couple of goals. Considering that Wellens was doing the most pressing in the first half, and it was Gallagher and not Adams that dropped into Wellens' position, I suspect that he has failed to fulfil his task. Not that I blame him, he has only been here 5 minutes and he has played about 5 positions in a million different formations. Strange choice by Pearson.

Nielson was even more responsible for the first and third goals than I thought. Lamentable defending.

N'Guessen's header was delightful.

Just seen the highlights, and N'Guesson's header is majestic, to score from that far out with a header is impressive.

Beeb commentator shocking though, describing the pen as Fryatt's 3rd goal in four games. No, you arse, it's his 4th goal in 3 games - 2 against blackpool, and 1 against peterboro, plus 1 = 4. Bah. Annoyed at the pundits too - A guy from Leicester, and 2 former city players, and not a single mention, too busy banging on about Malky Mackay. <_<

Bang on, it's like they're trying not to speak too much about Leicester for fear of being told off.
