Team For Boro.

Just read that article.

So, with Tuncehv out, Hobbs has to come back but who will partner him/who do we want?

Morrison or Brown?

Who plays up front for 'Boro; Aliadiere and whom?

Brown wont deal with pace of Aliadiere, Morrison for me.

Yes it will be the same as Makail-smith and MacLean so Morrison for me there as well but I was wondering if there is a big man that Morrison may not be able to deal with but Brown has been poor of late so Morrison anyone :dunno:

At some point i'd like to see us go 3-5-2. I think the team pretty much picks itself (Gallagher the advanced midfielder, all 3 CB's starting), only problem for me is who'd play wide right.

Yes like when Megson was manager, but then again it is the RM/LM role where we might struggle like you say, although if Oakley and Wellens play RCM and LCM they could try and cover there at times or something or would that not work?

Maybe if that McGiven plays LWB instead of Berner then that may be a better solution. McGiven looks quicker than Berner, obviousley younger and that so he may be able to 'bomb' down the left as well as get back like Mattock did, something that Berner sometimes gets caught out with, but then again that is most probably down to Gallagher playing out of position and wondering all the time.

If that did work, Wellens wouldn't have to do the work on the left then and that could let Oakley help out Nielson on the right - something that N'Guessan doesn't do.

Yes, that maybe could work.

You'd be brave going three at the back with our less-than-speedy defenders. Hell, they've struggled to contain the opposition lately with a back line of four.

The system might help us to press the opposition more quickly and consistently but I just hate to think of how the space around a back three would be exploited by fast opponents if the middle five were breached or by-passed.

The team I'd like Pearson to play tomorrow is:

Weale;

Neilson, Hobbs, Tunchev, Brown, Berner;

Oakley, Wellens,

Gallagher, Fryatt, Howard.

Subs: Logan, Morrison, Gallagher, Powell, N'Guessan, Dyer, Peter Jones, Barry Pierrepoint.

There'd be no excuse for losing. It's by far our most experienced team. They could defend in numbers and whack the ball to Howard hoping for a productive flick on. Nothing could be tactically simpler.

And we need simple!

Why the dropping of Howard?

He hasn't scored but he takes knocks and flicks the ball's on for Matty, causing the defence a problem.

By the way, how was Kermogrant? I understand most are picking him in their team for tomorow, but we left after their second goal and didn't see him.

Also, if Pearson starts, for whatever reason, two small strikers up front such as Waghorn/Fryatt/Gallagher then we better not play that long ball like we did when Howard went off against Preston because we'll be playing into their arms, considering their defence is made up of the likes of David Wheater.

Because he hasn't scored and is shit in this league.

And the only way we will EVER play decent passing football along the floor, and the only way we will improve that is dropping Howard and playing it.

Team I Would Play:

GK. Weale

RB. Neilson

CB. Hobbs

CB. Morrison (Because Tunch Is Out)

LB. McGivern

RM. Adams

CM. Wellens

CM. Oakley

LM. Berner

ST. Fryatt

ST. Gallagher

Neilson is nowhere near as bad as people are making out, he is being made to look bad as the formation we are playing doesn't suit him at all. If he wasn't getting forward then people will be slating him for not supporting N'Guessan enough. Get a grip people, he's more than good enough.

Team Nige Will Play:

GK. Weale

RB. Neilson

CB. Brown

CB. Hobbs

LB. Berner

RM. Gallagher

CM. Wellens

CM. Oakley

LM. Dyer

ST. Fryatt

ST. Howard

I think you're all wasting your time picking Tunchev

Fook he's out for at least 3 weeks then.

We will really struggle to keep a clean sheet against Boro, Palace and Cov now, i fear the worst without Tunch.

We're ninth and it's still not October. It's not like we're facing imminent relegation.

You'd think by reading this forum we are

I'd have taken 10th after this many games, so would of everyone else.

Stop with the negativity everyone!!

And to think that I was going to be complimentary about your line up's in a previous post.

That'll teach me.... :D :D

It's a difficult one, but I suspect that despite recent performances Brown will get the nod. Pearson isn't likely to play Morrison again Boro away when he's barely played all season. Tunch's injury is literally the worst news I've heard today...

To be fair, Brown and Hobbs were doing an excellent job up until recently whilst Tunch was out. I haven't lost faith in either.

Tunchev's injury doesn't surprise me at all.

a) He wasn't ready or match sharp from the off.

b) He was off the pace and often periphery and how anyone could have suggested he had a good game is beyond me.

It did show though that some people are so desperate for his return that they'll see a good performance in any game he plays and a bad performance in any of his rivals.

Me, I still don't think he'll be properly back before Christmas - if then.

GK 13 Kasey Keller

DF 2 Simon Grayson

DF 3 Mike Whitlow

DF 5 Steve Walsh

DF 15 Pontus Kåmark

DF 17 Spencer Prior

MF 6 Muzzy Izzet

MF 7 Neil Lennon

MF 10 Garry Parker

FW 9 Steve Claridge

FW 11 Emile Heskey

Substitutes:

GK 1 Kevin Poole

DF 21 Jamie Lawrence

FW 12 Mark Robins

Think we can scrape it playing a 5-3-2 with Pontus man-marking their tricky right wing dangerman. :chant:

We play all three days, we have many strikers, some are exhausted, and we want them to hurt themselves

Why bring the same sk's line. ?

We have choice but .. . ?

Protect them

And find a good defense and midfield' solid base

I was attempting to not post for a very long time on here but I had to post:

If the Tunch is out:

Weale

O'Neill ------- Hobbs -- Morrison -- McGivern

↓ ------------------- ⇈------------------- ↓

Berner

Wellens - Oakley

Gallagher

Howard - Fryatt

Subs:

Logan, Nielsen, Brown, King, Adams, N'guessan, Waghorn, Kermogant.

We need pace in the defence and there we will have it in abundance. The system will also allow the full backs to get forward and to play 3-5-2 when attacking and 4-4-2 when defending. Bruno plays a holding role and slots back into centre-half when one of the full backs bombs forwards.

Howard will be vital and after watching 'Boro recently David Wheater is the only centre-back who is decent, the other lad is shocking. If Howard can take Wheater out of the game, Fryatt will have a field day.

In the hole for Gallagher is just the right position for him.

I know people think the back line will be risky but from what I've seen from O'Neill he would be a better option than Nielsen at the minute, if Nielsen played he would get pissed on by Johnson.

Come on City!
