Fosse Boy Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 'Aint no niggaz up in ere' from some old black granny. WTF. That bit was hilarious, that white cop was clearly bricking it! Just been watching one of his Weird Weekends on Dave +1, he met some Boer separatists. Very odd people indeed...
Fox You Forest Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Just been watching one of his Weird Weekends on Dave +1, he met some Boer separatists. Very odd people indeed... I watched one on Dave the other weekend, It was about a guy going around different states doing motivational talks people paid for admission to these talks and after a couple of hours he would offer extra talks/lessons and said he could make anyone who signed up a millionaire. To go on these extra sessions you had to pay about $5,000 dollars. Amazing how many people actually signed up for them.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Can someone who has plus'd this please send me a copy on DVD?I'm a Theroux completist but was out tonight for my birthday.. BBC iPlayer
purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 It reminds me of Ashby in the 1980's I once saw someone pushed over, it was tough on the streets back then.
CosbehFox Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 I thought it was crap. I thought Theroux was out of his depth and where previously he's been able to get under his subject matter's skins, he couldn't do this time. Has anyone seen The Wire on here? It's superb series charting crime in Baltimore (a hour from Philly), I can't recommend it enough, if you enjoyed the subject matter, you'll be in heaven with this. It's semi-autobiographical.

I used to like him but his whole 'I'm english, I don't know whats going on' drip routine wears thin after a while.
The People's Hero Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 What man, whose the man, when's a man a man, why's it so hard to be a man Am I a man? Yes, technically, yes...
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Louis Theroux is quite simply a legend. Agreed.... I am hoping his box set is amongst my Xmas Presents.
The People's Hero Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I dreamt that Louis Theroux did a documentary on me last night. It was like what he did with the Hamiltons and Jimmy Saville, although clearly with me it would be very boring. I have that boxset and I enjoy it on a regular basis.
Jon the Hat Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I used to like him but his whole 'I'm english, I don't know whats going on' drip routine wears thin after a while. But it works most of the time. I have to say I don't think it really worked in this context, Ross Kemp for example is much better at this kind of thing.
frenzal Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I used to like him but his whole 'I'm english, I don't know whats going on' drip routine wears thin after a while. Yeah but that sense of innocence and naivety is what gets to people and makes them open up more. Though I agree it didn't work so well this time. And to the other chap The Wire is great, along with The Shield.
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I have that boxset and I enjoy it on a regular basis. I will make sure someone gets me it then. Something interesting to watch over Xmas.

It really is the best tv show ever. Nothing comes close.
