Neil Shipperley has been released by Palace.

A bit old I know but would do the job for a season or two.

Riordan unhappy on transfer list

Riordan scored 23 goals last season

Hibernian striker Derek Riordan is upset at being put up for sale by the Edinburgh club.

The 22-year-old, who was Scotland's Young Player of the Year has rejected new terms at Easter Road and is out of contract in December 2006.

"I don't want to be on the transfer list," Riordan told the Sunday Mail. "I didn't ask to be there.

"I want to stay at the club. I understand what it's all about - they put me there to try to cash in on me."

Hibs say they have not received any official bids for Riordan, who scored 23 goals last season and won a call up to the Scotland squad.

Celtic were thought to have made an enquiry but were put off by Hibs' £1m valuation of the player and turned their attention to Jeremie Aliadiere and Maciej Zurawski.

"I'm happy at Hibs. I'm a fan, I enjoy it, especially with the team and manager we've got just now," added Riordan, who was the club's top scorer despite not always playing in his favourite position.

"I played a lot on the left last season and never really got a run up front with Garry (O'Connor).

"I do see myself as a striker though. I think just because the manager knows I can play out wide that's why he does it and to a point I'm just happy if I'm playing.

"I don't mind it if I see a lot of the ball but I hate it when I'm not involved.

"That's when I get grumpy and I still go in a bit of a huff if I'm not scoring."

Riordan has been given an extra week off before his pre-season preparation begins after being away with Scotland last month and is not involved in Hibs' tour to Ireland.

From the BBC

Would be an excellent signing if we could get him. Hibs said they couldn't match us for finances over Laursen, so surely if we were to offer him a good deal he'd come.

We could use the money from the Stewart and Heath transfers.

I thought Wes Morgan was alright last season, quite young, powerful and fairly quick. Plus the Forest fans who phoned in on Century last season were quick to remove his name from criticism aimed at the teams performances, i'd be quite happy with that.

Riordan would be excellent but i reckon he'll go to an old firm or premiership club, not sure if he'd be keen on working with the ex-Hearts contingent with have either :(

Hibs want a £1million for Riordan so there is no chance. He will go to Celtic or Rangers.

No chance. ;)

Wes Morgan - oh, dear god, no. How can anyone be so mean as to spread a rumour like this.

He'll probably sign on Monday.

Dezza Riordan:

No chance. ;)
puts it best.

Danish national TV (equivalent to the Beeb) have reported that OB Odense have confirmed Ulrik Laursen has gone back to his old club and will sign a 4 year deal.

So that's another target gone..

I wonder whether Nils will be used at left back or not? With us needing a left back and 2 centre halves it will be interesting to see who else comes in with us having Bara on trial and this Australian chap on trial aswell both centre halves.

Wes Morgan is a quick centre back, which is what we need. Highly rated before last season, so I can think of alot worse.

... this Internet rumour seems to put the mockers on it. :(:huh::ph34r::unsure: Also claiming the Kenton deal is dead. :S:o

Wes Morgan has rejected leicester and decided to stay and help Forest get promoted. Leicester are now going to scout around for another CB as the Darren Kenton deal looks dead as a fee for him has been agreed with his old club Norwich City. Kris Boyd is set to sign a 3 year deal for a fee of 150k on Wednesday. These are 100% true.

I reckon he would get a fair few goals in championship, don't know how much they would want for him though!
