hoopy Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 ...if you were that good this season you would be well clear at the top of the table. But we haven't been this good all season...read what I wrote and you'll see I said we didn't hit our stride until September. And if we beat you and win over Palace as our game in hand we could be top.

hoopy Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 I said this season not all season Meh...we'll still win.
flanimal Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 4-0 to Leicester. QPR taste some of their own poo poo juice.
Koke Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 Someone has to spoil QPR's ridiculous free scoring run, and it might as well be us yer know. Even if we lose it'll be by the odd goal. We are much better side than Derby, Reading and Plymouth. I'd be happy with a draw.
Thracian Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 We weren't intimidated by Newcastle, Middlesbrough or Sheffield United and I don't suppose we'll do anything but give a solid account of ourselves at QPR. I've largely given up on expecting us to be exciting or entertaining. But one thing I have come to expect from Pearson's teams is that we will be functional and we will be competitive. Despite our defensive record I remain concerned about the lack of pace in our back line and what I see as their perceived vulnerability against anyone like DJ who could run off the shoulder of the last man and this, I believe, will be what decides the game or otherwise. If we somehow stand firm against the slick QPR forwards we might steal another win but, equally wecould find that the the QPR attackers are much more confident and ruthless in their finishing that Reading's. It's a well balanced contest. A draw or better would be welcome and achievable seeing as we seem to have started another promising run of results that emphasise our main message - that no Pearson team gets beaten easily.
Ozwin Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 I reckon we're going to bring QPR down to our level. Hopefully make it a scrappy game and give them no chance to play the football they like to play.

James. Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 A lot of people seem scared of QPR. And maybe after the performance against Reading that is partly justified. But at the same time it also seems a little over the top. We've both won and lost the same amount of games as each other, we've conceded less and we have one more point than them (albeit after playing one more game). We've also not conceded for 3 games and are unbeaten in 5. As far as I can see we're two evenly matched teams, fair enough they've scored a few recently but that sort of run never lasts and our stubborness in defence could well bring an end to their good form. I think we'll draw, 1-1.
CosbehFox Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 We're due a performance boys. I have the same feeling I did on the build-up to the game at the Wall last season. A tough, scrappy performance which will generate a result.
Foxy27 Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 I want to see Berner back in the team for McGivern as he looked lost on Monday and hopefully Dyer to start too. Hopefully this will be a decent game of footie and we can nick it 1-0. Fingers crossed . . .
The Padster Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 Personally I could see this being ground out to a 1-1 draw but we definately need to put Berner & Morrison back in to solidify that back line and then i reckon they'll have a tough time breaking us down. Just found this nugget on the LM "City to win on Friday, move up the top two and get ignored by the newcastle/boro obsessed media."

We'll do more than OK and get something from there.
maddog Posted 29 October 2009 Author Posted 29 October 2009 Lets keep this going people, very sexy voting so far Only 33 off a record
Ozwin Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 Its a sad day when a fan wants a scrappy game Haha, clearly I'd prefer us to play like Brazil and win 5-0 but they're a better passing side than we are and I don't think we'd be able to compete at the same type of football. I may be wrong though,

We've shown glimpses of Brazil and Barcelona this season, notably the first half at Watford, and the first 10 minutes at Preston. We were playing like Barcelona at Preston, classic. But it didn't last long
RowlattsFox Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 Where are people watching this by the way? Want to be somewhere with a few City fans in it, anyone going Soar Point?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 I cant wait for this now. Should be a cracking game, hopefully with the right result!
