davieG Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 QPR View- http://www.clubfanzine.com/QPR/v2.showNews.php?id=26714 No, still not going to do it. I will apologise to Jim Magilton, but not yet. “A bottom of the barrel appointment to a poison chalice of a job that nobody else would take,” was just about the sum total of my opinion when magilton was appointed in the summer. A manager that nobody else wanted in a job that nobody in their right mind wanted to take. Like I say, if this continues, I’ll write to the bloke and apologise. Regular readers would of course be able to tell him that I’ve no idea what I’m talking about anyway. This could still all go wrong. Nothing is guaranteed. We’re not even halfway through the season, and not even in the top six as things stand on this Friday morning. While we may go on and win the league at a canter, we may also crash and burn and miss the play offs altogether. If it’s the latter then I think it will be something we do, rather than anything inflicted on us by the other 23 teams. By that I mean that I do not think there is a team in this division that can live with our current set up. You may be able to stop Routledge, Taarabt, Buzsaky and Simpson - but you’ll do very, very well to stop all four of them, all at the same time, for an entire match. I do not believe there is a team in this league capable of doing that - although tonight’s opponents Leicester are better placed than most to give it a go judging by their cautious, solid and unadventurous set up against Reading on Monday night. Leicester don’t concede many goals and will certainly be more difficult to break down than our last three opponents who were simply cut to ribbons by a QPR side that should never really have been allowed in the ring with Preston, Reading or Derby such was the scale of the mismatch. Leicester though are chronically short of pace at the back and so again I wonder whether they’ll be able to hang onto the coat tails of Routledge and Taarabt, and if they can whether they’ll then have anybody left to stop Buzsaky and Faurlin pulling the strings in the subsequent space created. God it’s good to be talking about QPR in this way. Everybody I have spoken to was seriously impressed with us at Derby on saturday night, and some have even said they’re looking forward to seeing us tonight. It could, and probably will, all go tits up at some point and QPR have never been very good on Sky, but the more I see of us the more I think this is all in our own hands - only we can spoil this for ourselves. Keep playing as we are and there’s no stopping us.

James. Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 After reading that fan's view and some of the message boards QPR fans are so far up their own arses it's unbelievable. A run of 3 games scoring 4 in each and they genuinely think they're too good for the division? COME ON LEICESTER.

If they think that then they really are in for a massive kick in the head..... hypothetically speaking I hasten to add.
Guest Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Not sure if Raj has already posted his prediction yet but I'll go for 7-1 to City and beat him to it

Keep playing as we are and there’s no stopping us. I read most of the part about Leicester with recent history, form etc. (I couldn't be arsed to read the star players part) But I thought that was generally a fair view, compared to other teams who will just say non stop shite about us.
leftsideoverhere Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Could one of the people posting about how QPR's form means fook all because of the poor quality of the opposition please remind me how many goals we've scored in our matches against Derby, Preston and Reading so far this season? I don't think we've managed four in total, never mind per game, and we've had an extra match to do it in, thanks to the cup tie. Or were those different Derby, Preston and Reading sides?
Daggers Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 cautious, solid and unadventurous set up Yep, that's us. Cautious, solid, unadventurous and about to be humbled by a very good side. Beware another onrush of 'Pearson out!' threads come full-time.
Monk Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Tonight is going to be tough, no doubt about it. But we seem to have a certain grit and weight about us at the moment. I reckon we'll grind this one out, but I expect them to be all over us for much of the game.

Beware another onrush of 'Pearson out!' threads come full-time. Or we might surprise a few by playing cautious, solid, unadventurous football - yet still win this ****er. In this case, I fear Thracian having a massive post-match go at the team for being so unspectacular. Shut them QPR gobs.
StanSP Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I'm quietly confiendt about this one . Think we'll turn in one of our better performances of the season

Thanks for a breath of fresh air. Let's face it, we would have lost by a hatful on Monday if Reading's forwards had not been playing like Ade Akinbiyi on a bad day. I'm really not sure about McGivern, though I only saw him that once, but if our defence gets its act together, we should be good for a draw. And another touch of class from Waghorn, or if Fryatt takes a couple of chances, and we might win 2-0. Ooh look, a flying pig. Up the City.
Joe. Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 DJ to score the winner. Give it up, it's never happening.
maddog Posted 30 October 2009 Author Posted 30 October 2009 Wow theres definitely a real buzz about this game. Looking forward to seeing how we go. 3 more votes and it's a new record, come on

maddog Posted 30 October 2009 Author Posted 30 October 2009 165 votes needed we are so close 2nd place in the table briefly if we win. Shame Newcastle got the last minute winner, or it would have been top
Daggers Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I genuinely have no idea how fans of such a nothing club can be so arrogant. Still, pride comes before a fall. Some of us are old enough to remember them as one of the best footballing sides in the country, with some of the most audacious flair players. I didn't read arrogance into that piece, a simple realism. Good luck to them - the supporters have been shat on for years and they deserve a little to cheer these days, I respect any fan of London's less fashionable clubs.

Daggers Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 It must be lovely to be simple. Me, I'm dumb - I just believe the same kind of shit as...err..this stupid bloke: Pearson said: "We have had good performances before but it is satisfying because tonight's fixture was quite rightly billed as a game that was going to be tough for us. They are a very good footballing side, like I said they score a lot of goals, so we knew it would be tough."
