lou Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Am giving a lift to a colleague QPR fan to and from this so God Please let us win! Im trying not to be a pessimist but they are very much the inform team at the mo and Im worried about this game. Id be more than happy if we got a point, the only things that are making me feel happier are the fact that we always seem to raise our game for the better sides and we arent conceding goals right now. Come on lads!
brett759 Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Someone's gotta drag QPR down to earth. We're the team to do that.
samjohnson Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Apparently, we're known as the team that destroys good forms. I hope we can continue this apparent status!
Guest Bilo Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 QPR scoring for fun but against some mediocre and struggling teams like Derby and Reading, and can see us scoring against them. We do tend to pick up against the better sides as well so will hope to get something on Friday. Tight game and I predict it'll finish..... with Fryatt and Gally notching for us.
maddog Posted 27 October 2009 Author Posted 27 October 2009 Go without King? In case you've not noticed the last time we were without King (and with N'Guessan) we lost to Preston at home. It wasn't a fluke. They were the better side. And the time before when King was missing we also lost - at Newcastle - and that wasn't a fluke either. They went straight through our centre at times in the second half. N'Guessan played against Newcastle too. In the last five matches King has played we have won three and drawn two which is title form in this division and that included the notable away scalp of Middlesbrough. We haven't lost a single League match this season that King has played in. Are you seriously suggesting King has been lucky and hasn't been contributing to that? We've all seen King attack in the past, have a few shots, score a few goals, get into advanced positions. We've all seen Wellens try to thread balls through groups of players and sometimes give it away when there were far easier passes. We have seen that Oakley is not really a winger but that he does stay involved however he's playing individually and he does the defensive side of playing wide far more enthusiastically and purposefully than N'Guessan. A team is not first of all about individuals but about the sum of its parts and the effect they have. To a great extent King and Oakley allow the riskier Wellens to do his thing. In some ways King suffers because of that because Wellens is disinclined to simply retain possession. He almost always tries a forward pass. Sometimes it is a deft ball that puts the likes of Howard in for a great chance of a goal. Other times it's not quite weighted properly, we lose possession and there is Kingy either winning the ball back, covering the space left by Wellens or slowing the opposition down until we're well stocked with defenders again. In some ways it's a pity King can't just be himself and enjoy being an all-round midfielder. But mostly he functions as the cleaner or the insurance man and I reckon some folk will only appreciate what he does do for us when he gets injured and we have to do without him again. Cos we missed him plainly enough the year we got relegated. I hadn't a clue that King had played in the wins and draws and hadn't played in the losses, because i never even notice that he's playing. That must just be a massive coincidence. And i would rather we play an actual winger on the wings, than play King in the centre and Oakley on the right. Theres more benefit to the team as a whole having N'Guessan/Adams on the right, with Oakley in the centre and dropping King, than there is playing King and playing Oakley on the right. Unless Pearson drop Wellens. I never even notice King during a game and getting the ball even, and i have purely just watched him on occasions and all i saw was running around in circles in empty space, never actually getting anywhere near the ball or contributing anything to the game. Is he going about his business well in a quiet manner, or does he do fook all every game, thats for Pearson to decide.
lou Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Ive not always been Kingys biggest fan but I do think hes doing fairly well on the whole, to me if you dont notice a player its not always a bad thing (sounds daft I know) but he isnt doing a lot wrong then either

lou Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Yeh not a bad shout , i will also go for Gally and Waghorn for us aaaahhh I get it now!!
deepbluedevil Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Can't see us getting anything from QPR sadly...
StanSP Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Apparently, we're known as the team that destroys good forms. I hope we can continue this apparent status! Hope we destrouy their good form on Friday then! Think it was Kareem that made a good point about us being better than Derby and Reading, hence why we shouldn't concede 4.
Corky Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Will be very tough, they are flying right now, but we're not doing too badly ourselves. I reckon a 2-2 draw.
AoWW Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Well, I reckoned we'd lose last night, and was proved wrong... so I'll go with QPR 2 - 1 Leicester.
Nick Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 We will win. Why? Because it's our most ridiculous destiny to be joint top for 15 hours.
Karljohn Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Agree with Thracian on Oakley. Poor again last night, and not at the races so far this season. Im going for a 2-2 draw, QPR are a decent side, I have a feeling N'Guessan may feature and cause problems. Going to miss this one altogether, despite efforts from a mate of mine who supports QPR to get me down there and put me up over night Ive got bloody work on saturday morning and already bought tickets to see Little Boots in Wolves prior to Sky's meddling so relying on texts whilst standing at the Wulfrun Hall in me city shirt.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Why people vote lose? We can beat anyone in this league. Because people think we'll lose the game. We can beat anyone in this league yes, but we can also lose to anyone in this league. If McGivern plays, 3-0 loss. If McGivern doesn't play, 1-0 loss.
Finnegan Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 You like are ground? No one on here likes it ! Any ground is paradise next to Loftus Road. Shit ground and it's like a morgue in there, hear a pin drop.
flanimal Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 QPR will lose, they'll be big headed and won't expect Leicester to be so scrappy. They're going down, plus, Davids could be in the crowd for this one Davids watching would make anyone raise their game!!!
StanSP Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Any ground is paradise next to Loftus Road. Shit ground and it's like a morgue in there, hear a pin drop. You clearly weren't at Reading last night then. If no Leicester fans were there, it would have actually been like a library, and that's not a joke.

They did get loud for about 5 mins after they hit the post Oh and when they joined in with "youre getting sacked in the morning"
RowlattsFox Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 QPR are being made out to be Barcelona, they are a decent Championship on an excellent run, but we shouldn't be scared of them. Yes if we defend like we did on Monday then we won't get anything out the game, but I think we can trouble QPR at the other end. I think they're a little suspect defensively, and we can target they're full backs by playing wingers. QPR are unbeaten at home, and won 3 in a row, I'd say they're due a defeat so I'm going for a 2-1 win. Late winner.

Their defence is rocky - we have to play at them! Im just concerned if we play the same team as last night. It wont work at QPR
StanSP Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 They did get loud for about 5 mins after they hit the post Oh and when they joined in with "youre getting sacked in the morning" Only when encouraged did they sing . They did fuck all otherwise haha. I honestly wasn't expecting to be so empty and quiet.
lou Posted 27 October 2009 Posted 27 October 2009 Oh I did.... imagine how quiet the WS would be after nine months without a home win
