It wasn't Henry's responsiblity to own up to it, and given the stakes of the game I don't blame him at all. I didn't like it by any means, but he's not gone down in my estimations for it. Would any other player have actually held their hands up and admitted it? I seriously doubt it.

I was cheering on for an Ireland win last night but they've lost the match, and that's the end of it. Controversies like this are popping up on a regular basis and you don't see matches replayed for them. The matter will be put to bed shortly I'd imagine.

Anyways back on topic, gutted for the Irish, they absolutely battered the French in the 2nd leg, however they really should have put the game to bed well before the 90 minutes were up and thats what i think they'll really be sorry about.

I hope the controversy isn't hyped to the extent that it all becomes even more bitter and messy, the anger and sense of injustice could wreck the Irishes hopes of qualifying for Euro 2012.

Henry deserves to be vilified for his role, but nothing more, he should be made to live with the shame, not massacred for it, after all, people are probably right in saying that if an Irish player did it, would they have done any different to Henry?
