martyn Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Think Elliott got it wrong talking about the Atletico game. We never pulled it back to 1-1 at Filbert Street if i recall correctly. Makes you think what might have been when Muzzy talks about that big purse of money that MON could have used just before departing for Celtic.
Ross-Kemp Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 I've met Steve Walsh a few times, he's always happy to have a beer and photos with fans, he's anything but arrogant.
Babylon Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 I've met Steve Walsh a few times, he's always happy to have a beer and photos with fans, he's anything but arrogant. Well i've met him twice and he was a spanner, so everyone will have to agree to disagree. Any more Walsh is or isn't a tit stuff is getting binned, even if I write it. We all have out opinions and they aren't going to change because another keyboard warrior doesn't like it.
lou Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Well i've met him twice and he was a spanner. Ive met him on numerous occasions and thought pretty much the same He thinks hes Gods gift and (allegedly) repeatedly cheated on his Mrs with other peoples wives! Not arrogant at all no. Doesnt mean I dont appreciate what he did as a player though. Wooops just saw your edit Babs!
davieG Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Well whatever his character, knob, tit, spanner arrogant, banterman or just a good all round egg buying everyone drinks it's what made him the player he was and through him and his character we were successful. Just for the record and not to start another debate MON doesn't sound all the pleasant.

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 We're not famous , We're not famous , We're not famous anymore !!
CosbehFox Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Get over it, the bloke deserves to be arrogant Are you taking note of the numerous failed business he's attempted too? Speaking to someone who knew the family well, his brother is a super bloke but Steve not so.
MC Prussian Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 First of all, once more - hats off to Mr. G for the effort. Top-notch service. As for the Steve Walsh comments, how people can call him "arrogant" judging from this one TV appearance (only), is beyond belief. The only thing I noticed was that he talked slightly more than Elliott and Muzzy respectively (which probably has something to do with him being the former club captain and therefore a figure with a certain amount of authority), but I couldn't really spot one single point where he's deliberately taking the piss out of Izzet. They all have more than just respect for each other. It was more of a welcome reunion of three former quality Leicester players, sharing their memories with a wider audience. And all in entertaining, insightful and delightful fashion.
CosbehFox Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 As for the Steve Walsh comments, how people can call him "arrogant" judging from this one TV appearance (only), is beyond belief. People aren't. They are taking it from personal meetings, his spot on the radio for a while co-commentating and his regular spot in the Mercury.
MC Prussian Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 People aren't. They are taking it from personal meetings, his spot on the radio for a while co-commentating and his regular spot in the Mercury. And you...?
Edmund Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 People aren't. They are taking it from personal meetings, his spot on the radio for a while co-commentating and his regular spot in the Mercury. You've obviously haven't read the thread properly... see below I thought Steve Walsh came across as a bit of a nob! He tried to make everything about him. Telling Muzzy 'I made you a hero' because of a pass he made to him!?! Get real Walshy. Saying he made 3 players a Leicester legend by passing to them could be taken as being 'overly arrogant'. Only he will know if he really means it or not though. There's banter and then there's trying to relate everything back to yourself e.g when talking about Leicester in general at Highbury and Walsh had to slip in that he came on as a sub at 5-0 and it finished 6-1 so he improved the team etc, blaming Keller for his 30 yard OG, the list goes on...... First of all, once more - hats off to Mr. G for the effort. Top-notch service. CosbehFox Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 And you...? Played in Football Aid at the Walkers this May and whereas as Izzet turned up thirty minutes before...Walsh turned up ten minutes after the game and the first thing he did was buy himself a pint. Thankfully, Muzzy was a super lad - played a half for each team and was cracking in the changing rooms. Basically, the bloke's a nob....but he did a lot for us. Couldn't even turn up to a charity event on-time where all his mates were bombarding him with messages telling him to get his arse now the Walkers. Then there's the Chinese Restaurant, the Golfing Company in Spain.....
CosbehFox Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 You've obviously haven't read the thread properly... see below Neither have you....read below. Alex referred to people...slightly more than just Leicester boi. Great servant to City he was indeed but its common knowledge that Walshy is a bit of a knob. Im way older than 12 for the record. Well i've met him twice and he was a spanner, so everyone will have to agree to disagree. Anyways I'll put a button on it cos the thread will get locked.

Then there's the Chinese Restaurant, the Golfing Company in Spain..... Fair play - see, I don't really care what former City players do with their lives past the football career, because everyone's entitled to their own lifestyle. One could also say that Walsh's former excesses are now catching/have caught up with him in a way (equal justice? ). Not everyone can maintain or create a success story when the legs have gone (and I'd say that's the case with most footballers), so I'm not going to slate Steve Walsh for being Steve Walsh. I've never met Walshie in person and all that I recall are wonderful football memories.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Well whatever his character, knob, tit, spanner arrogant, banterman or just a good all round egg buying everyone drinks it's what made him the player he was and through him and his character we were successful.Just for the record and not to start another debate MON doesn't sound all the pleasant. A man who learnt his trade under Mr. Clough, i'm not surprised (Not saying I dislike Clough at all, but his style of management wasn't nicey nicey was it. And while Clough was a huge TV personality, he was no billy bullshitter)
Salieri Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Can't believe everyones bickering about Steve bloody Walsh! Just wanna say a big thanks to Davie G, gonna watch the programme in a bit. (so i can make my own mind up as to whether Walshy is a tit...)
Edmund Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Neither have you....read below. Alex referred to people...slightly more than just Leicester boi. No, Alex was referring to people basing it on his tv appearance. Anyway it's getting silly now that people can't watch a simple programme without posting irrelevant points which has nothing to do with the show i.e failed businesses
skinnydipper Posted 15 December 2009 Author Posted 15 December 2009 Haven't been able to watch it yet but it'll have to go some to be more entertaining than some of the drama queens on here FFS stop the carping Just enjoy those good times
jonthefox Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 For those without Skyhttp://www.davieg-gallery.limeo.co.uk/4%20...er%20videos.htm cheers for that mr g. got called upstairs to a bed full of puke last night. bloody kids
Uncle Phil Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Is the upload still there on Davie's stuff? I could see it earlier but it seems to have gone.
davieG Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Is the upload still there on Davie's stuff? I could see it earlier but it seems to have gone. Yes but it seems because of it's size and the numbers viewing it I've exceeded my bandwidth. I'll need to check what the situation is. I suggest you try it periodically.
