Sirloin Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Heard about this a couple of days ago from someone on another forum: A friend of a friend of a friend (a girl) was in a club which Joe Mattock (former Leicester now West Brom 1m signing and England U-21) was also in at the weekend. And apparently he went mental, knocked her out, knocked a tooth out, and also did the same to a couple of other people. Completely went mental, this Joe Mattock. Can't see it reported anywhere, apparently he's trying to apologise and shush them up.

lou Posted 3 September 2009 Author Posted 3 September 2009 Im not saying anything about this particular incident as I dont know the facts, but hes known round here to be a bit of a hard lad and isnt unknown apparently to have a few scraps when out.... hes not a shrinking violet by any stretch of the imagination and isnt scared of mixing it, never has been. Hes also a bit of an arrogant big head and told my Son (they have some mutual friends) a year or so back he wouldnt go to West Ham as they werent "big enough" for him.... like hes soooo good I would still want him to get a fair trial as everyone should.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 From what I've heard, the reason for the attack wasn't what immediately springs to mind. I don't know any more than that, but it looks like a lot of people jumping to conclusions about this are incorrect.

Its human nature to do that I guess and people will always want to discuss this sort of thing.... Im just glad its not our clubs problem
Fox You Forest Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Im just glad its not our clubs problem For a change...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Did he want to choose the music? Its human nature to do that I guess and people will always want to discuss this sort of thing.... Im just glad its not our clubs problem Yeah, totally. It's what I thought too. I don't know the actual reason, it just wasn't that by the sounds of things. Anyhow, we'll just have to see what the press dish out about it over the next few weeks or whatever I suppose.
MPH Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Based presumably on the evidence of the four people, it will be interesting to see if there were/are any genuine unbiased witnesses; judging from the response on here I hope for his sake they aren't Leicester City fans because if they're like the majority on here he'd be found guilty whether he did anything or not. just because they are the people who have been (allegedly) attacked it doesnt make them any less credible.. If thats the case then hardly any rapists would go to Jail. Often when no other witness is present that can be intimidating for the person. The fact there are 4 of them and they are all allegded victims doesnt make them less credible it just makes them have the confidence to prosecute/ support each other The truth always comes out in the end anyway whether its the victims making the accusations or not. ( la manga springs to mind)

( la manga springs to mind) Sadly a very small percentage of rapists do go to jail... I dont know the up to date or exact figures but I know its a very low rate of alleged rapists that get convicted and I dont believe theres that many "victims" that make it up Its a hard one to prove I guess... anyway sorry for straying off topic

( la manga springs to mind) Did I say they were less credible? The point I was making was they aren't independent or uninvolved. The fact that there are four makes no difference if they are all friends. Unless there are independent witnesses and he pleads not guilty it's still his word against theirs and it will then be up to the judge to determine who is more likely to be telling the truth andwhether that is sufficient enough to make a judgement. Hopefully the truth will out, the problem is on here people are making massive assumptions without one iota of fact and that was my point and seem to have him down as guilty just because they are pissed off with him. Pointing out La Manage to me is a bit off the mark because it's exactly cases like that which I'm fully aware of but people on here seem to have forgotten.

How can you be independent if you are the one who has allegedly been hit? and it doesnt matter if they were involved or not. They are still perfectly good witnesses. and your implications that they need to be independent and uninvolved in order for it to be a secure prosecution ( its there words against his) is what makes it look like you are saying they are less likely to give an honest and accurate account and therefore less credible! because they were involved (We should not base all 'his word against theirs' prosecutions on what happened with la manga neither of course should we assume he is innocent ) it may well end up being there word against his ( highly unlikely in the middle of town with presumeabley at least a few others out drinking!). But that still good grounds for prosecution.
