Sniffer-Clarke Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 SSN Says NP name being linked with the Bolton job.
Daggers Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 SSN Says NP name being linked with the Bolton job. Nah - he'll be taking the bigger job at PNE
C-man Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 That was an e-mail from some nobody Notts County fan, hardly being linked.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 That was an e-mail from some nobody Notts County fan, hardly being linked. Beat me too it.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Why go to Bolton? They've been on a downward spiral since Allardyce left them and they're hardly a big club with prospects of going any further. Megson left because he was about as popular as a sausage roll at a Bar Mitzvah here and we were in an unholy mess as a club at the time. Neither of these can be said about Pearson or the club now. I can see them going for a manager already out of work to avoid the hefty compensation package, probably Jewell or Ferguson.
lou Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 His name will get linked with every vacant managers job... always does. Means nothing
Tevez Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 That was an e-mail from some nobody Notts County fan, hardly being linked. I thought this.. Strong link it seems...
MPH Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 young promising manager. Lowly prem Job going. Amazing that someone would link him.
Edmund Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Are we now a (manager) feeder club for Bolton? All I know is Megson will end up as manager of Wednesday.
Radovan's Caravan Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 A certain Mr Hughes looks to be a shoo in here as he is a free agent and the Reebok is just a hop, skip and a jump from Eastlands (and how many of his loyal proteges, I wonder, will be tempted to follow him for a 1/4 of their current salaries?). The timing is all so perfect it had to be synchronised. Why do I have the feeling that the irony of this move will be lost on the xenophobic British media?
DB11 Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Now I know how MK Dons felt when Ince was linked after Allen
maddog Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 No way NP would go. Pearsons only avaliable to bet with ladbrokes http://www.oddschecker.com/football/footba...rmanent-manager at 25/1. If there was any chance he would go you could bet on him with all the other bookies like most of the other managers on that long list.

Wouldn't necessarily say it's 100% comparable, after all, there were decent grounds on which to get rid of Megson.

dandannieldanok Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 I reckon he'd jump at the chance if offered, just like Megson did. If an approach comes in and Pearson wants it there is very little Mandaric can do.

I think Mandaric will have a long enough memory of Bolton snatching Megson and vindictive enough to make it extremely difficult, slap him on gardening leave like QPR did with Holloway. In their position Bolton will need a swift solution.

Keeping an unhappy manager and sending him on gardening leave will mess up our season even more than if Mandaric just let him go and hired someone else reasonably swiftly.
Matt Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 I reckon he'd jump at the chance if offered, just like Megson did. If an approach comes in and Pearson wants it there is very little Mandaric can do. Also like the opinion I have on players if they don't want to be here and would rather be at another club who is interested in them, I'd rather they go. Don't get me wrong I don't want Pearson to go anywhere, At the moment on current form I want Pearson here for life (Like all football fans i'm fickle if it all goes tits up i'll see retract that statement but the only way I can see it going tits up is if we get promoted to the premiership and we get hammered - But for me that is almost expected, Just surviving in the premiership would be fine for me, No doubt we'd have the Micky Adams situation though that if we got promoted and then got relegated many fans would be calling for his head What else did/do they expect?) But at the end of the day what's the point in having players or managers no matter how good at the club if they don't want to be here and potentially not perform to their highest standard. However, Who say's Pearson is even interested in this job or any other job available at the moment, Who say's Bolton are interest in Pearson other than some rumour monger? (I wasn't even going to comment on this thread as i'm not worried at all about this but i've been lured in )

He could put him on gardening leave and get a new manager in, as long as he's prepared to fund the 2 contracts and miss out on compensation - I guess it would depend on whether he was still pissed off with Bolton.
