dandannieldanok Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 He could put him on gardening leave and get a new manager in, as long as he's prepared to fund the 2 contracts and miss out on compensation - I guess it would depend on whether he was still pissed off with Bolton. Is that even allowed ?? Anyway that would never happen, Mandaric is a little crazy but he's not completely insane.
davieG Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Is that even allowed ?? Anyway that would never happen, Mandaric is a little crazy but he's not completely insane. I'm not convinced.
bigneville Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Bolton need an experienced premiership manager to get them out of the relegation worries for this season. NP has no premiership experience, so I dont expect his name to be linked with the job to be honest. I think the job has Alan Curbishley all over it, or a name very similar. I would be very very very very suprised to see NP leave us at all at the minute.
Anish Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 His name will get linked with every vacant managers job... always does. Means nothing It means he's doing a good job here and is rated in the press/with the bookies as a promising manager. Anyway, Bolton will probably say we owe them one after the sale of the century when they paid us to take Megson off our hands. We could even try to take advantage of this situation by making a cheeky bid for Mark Davies, or is he injured again (I haven't seen him on MOTD lately)?
Head Honcho Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 SSN Says NP name being linked with the Bolton job. No shit Sherlock!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 N.P. would be crazy not to consider the Bolton job if offered it. They are an established Premiership side already, and we are their very poor relations. Some people on thiis site wear rose tinted glasses all year round!

I know that, I meant the "link" to Bolton means nothing ie theres no substance to it.

Legend_in_blue Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Bolton are a small and insignificant premiership football team that needs to be relegated. They have achieved nothing in it and merely make up the numbers. Disappear into league 2.
DanTheFox07 Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 Paul Jewell most likely to get bolton job for me, He was watching the game last nite, I Know that doesn`t mean It`s a dead cert! I would like to think we have a brighter future than bolton with all the youngsters we have.

What has going to Bolton done for Megsons career then? Dont think there are enough city fans with blue tinted glasses to be honest, we are and always will be bigger than Bolton who no matter how much money they spend will find there level in time which is league 1 or championship at a push. Im not saying we are a big club but we have a bigger fan base than Bolton who are a small club who like a few have got into the prem on the back of spending a lot of money but it is only temporary they will find there level in time.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 serves the bastard right for leaving us. No way our Nige is going to that rabble
Matt Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 serves the bastard right for leaving us. No way our Nige is going to that rabble Thing is he was in a lose, lose situation with me, and I would guess many other Leicester fans, We didn't want him anyway, I wanted shot of him when we appointed him, Then he threw it back in our faces by leaving after such a short time. No matter what he did unless it was an amazing job (Which just wasn't gonna happen anyway) he was never gonna be held in high esteem at LCFC.
Anish Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 He did us a favour by walking out on us. We may possibly have survived in the Championship with him but even in his 6 weeks in charge our football was dour and boring and we went into Megson's trademark defensive tactics.

coale39 Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 Back to the wilderness for him where I hope he stays.
midfield Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 why would pearson want to go to bolton he would be on a hiding to nuffing there best he could hopr for would be to keep up this year besides we are a bigger club than bolton

Narborough Bod Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 We may be a bigger club over the past 30 years but the ’sky’ generation really do get on my tits with their bigger club comments. Bolton were one of the original 12 founders of the football league, so more history than us, a 28k Stadium, so pretty much in the same ball park. Have spent more time IN the top flight than out of it, so any comments about them being a league 2 team are crap. Won the FA Cup 4 times…compared to zero. Now granted they’ve won nothing since 1958, but over the past 10 years, since promotion in 00/01, they’ve spent them all in the Premier league, have we?? Back to the main point though, I’d back them to go for Hughes, Ferguson or Southgate, or maybe Curbishley as Big Nev said, rather than someone who’ll cost them money. It's a bit of a poisoned challice at Bolton unless Allardyce ever goes back. They need to get relegated and find their own 'Pearson' to stop constant Allardyce (O'Neill) comparisons.
Webbo Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 I believe that Megson made a profit on transfers and he kept them in the Prem. Admittedly his tyle of football was boring but it was effective for a club of Bolton's size. I really don't know what the Bolton fans/board expect. Do they really think that they could compete on equal terms with the top 8 teams in terms of players/results/entertainment?

Do they really think that they could compete on equal terms with the top 8 teams in terms of players/results/entertainment? Typical ideas above their station. A sniff of top 10 and they want / expect it all of the time. Very similar to many of our fans in that respect. You look at the Premier League table from Stoke down and the majority of the clubs will have disillusioned fans who have unrealistic expectations of top 10 and beyond. Safety, a possible cup run and a sniff of the top 10 every now and again. That's the realistic target once you've established yourselves.

Flynny Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 I for one would like to thank Megson for giving us the opportunity to nearly have Frank Burrows in charge.
