I would agree with that. Best player for us today.

I agree he was fantastic, I just think he could of done better at a few crosses, he wasnt his normal decisive self

Il 2nd that about the full backs!

Mcgiven ....giving a lot of goals away...he looks scard to go for the tackles...send him back to manc city...

Agree with everything that has been mentioned. Apart from Pearson. In the first half he didn't look smug, he looked pissed off. He just kept his cool so he could no doubt let it all out during a necessary half-time rant. When Brown made the second of two woeful long ball attempts within 20 seconds Pearson raised his eyebrows in a way that summed up exactly what everybody else was thinking perfectly. But he is not one to shout from the touch-line and make it clear to everybody watching how annoyed he is. Thats for the private of the dressing room. And Im not going to question his technique after the last 18 months.

McGivern will never make it at Man City and I hope to God that we do not buy him. But, looked better (very very slightly) in the second half. Would still like a 70% fit Berner to that clown though.

I would personally drive Neilson back to Scotland where he belongs. He always looks rushed, even when he has twenty yards of space.

Thats the worst performance I have seen from Brown. He is not a world-beater at the best of times, but he was consistently out-paced even when given a massive headstart and was bailed out by Morrison. Although Morrison himself looked troubled at times, its not surprising given the other 3 defenders were awful. Morrison deserves massive massive praise for bailing the other 3 out time and time again.

BUT - any team that can play that badly and pick up points is likely to be successful.

I thought Neilson was very very poor today compared to his normal very poor, think we need to look at full backs with a touch of pace does not have to be lightning but to be able to run is an advantage :city: As for the rest of the game its all been said nervy performance against a below average team, 38 points to play offs another 2 today would have helped.

Dreadful performance, we wouldn't have scored if we'd been there all night.

The fact we could barely string a pass together or deliver a corner past the first post is very worrying.

On the plus side, we've got a point in a game we didn't ever turn up to.

Some good setup and nice play actually, especially in the second half. All in all a ok result seeing how the match progressed, however I feel we could have snatched it. Not to happy about the ref, even tho he redeemed himself by not playing cards after the scramble in second half.

I think McGivern was ok after his terrible start, so I don't really see why he is to take so much heat from a lot of people.

Not to happy with Howard today, but thanks to him we got a goal.

Weale is bloody amazing.

All in all a good day out, sharing a few pints with Vålerenga in a downtown pub, surrounded by screaming loud Ipswich women supporters... just me and V and one more bloke who supported Leicester and seemed to speak English ... "So he is from Leicester" Vålerenga announced before we headed out in the cold dark night. ;)

Absoutely crap.

Ending the game with four strikers, two being on the wings is ridiculous.

McGivern and Neilson are definitely Pearson's worst signings.

Mcgiverns on loan and Neilson was a free so not the end of the world but I'm starting to think Gallagher is turning out to be a massive flop considering we spent over a million on him.

It would help if he played in his natural position, but I don't see what he offers over say strikers we already had on our books i.e. Campbell who at least has pace.

Not impressed by Pearson looking smug all game either

What are you on about? Stop chatting shit.

Not seen much of leicester of late, and glad i stayed at home to watch this one,and gave me a chance to use me Sky HD + box.

-> deleted it straight away

First goal was a give away, defender got outpaced to lose the ball when it was easily his, A lack of pace in all areas across the back was obvious, and peters skinned "Ryan McGive me the ball an al lose it n" at will, how he, along with Neilson is rated by pearson is quite disturbing imo

cant cross, cant pass and can barely defend at times.

The full backs are really letting a half decent side down.

Fryatt, i had to check he was actually in the starting line up after the first 30 mins, dont think he touched the ball, but credit to ipswich maybe for that one for having more pace and desire in the first half.

The lack of quality in a dead ball situations was evident again

Overall a very disappointing game to watch, a game we could have just snatched, probably undeservedly so.

Some tough away games beckon, and 2 points dropped against a poor away side might be rued

They were crap and we matched them. Please never play brown or neilson again they make me nervous everytime there near the ball. Also don't understand why people say mcgiven is awful, I thought he was alright today.

Yes we were not great but your glad you didn't go. Please don't bother to go again, we don't need people like you.

Thank god your not in charge of us because with you optimism we'd still be in league 1.

On recent form and with how we played can't complain with a point and we can't win every game we play can we, be realistic.

well, this is no doubt going to be controversial, but i feel that everyone has been unusually harsh, and i didn't think it was that bad a performance.

at least the first 30 minutes were pretty horrific, but from when we scored the goal, the only thing between us and a decent performance and result was the final ball.

firstly, i suspect a lot of the totally unfair mcgivern hate is just knee jerk because of the goal, but it took a deflection onto his leg and he could have done nothing about it, the real blame for the goal is how our midfield managed to lose possession so easily, i thought mcgivern was are best defender today...

the most frustrating thing for me about this game, is that when we played the ball on the ground we looked in a different class and, especially in the 2nd half made ipswich look like the poor team they are in danger of remaining, the trouble was for most of the game we persisted in playing high balls to howard, and up until we scored, mcauley and delaney had howard in their pocket, howard proving his own frustration by his embarassing headlock.

plus points for me were the effort of mcgivern, i think he must have covered more ground than anybody today, yes he looked lost now and again but, up against the very tricky peters i think he proved he is not such a bad player, won plenty of balls in the air and got forward, not the best crossing but neither was any of our midfield.

i thought dyer worked hard too, without much effect and a great saving tackle from oakley shows he still has the desire, even if his corners are manifestly awful.

worst players for me: morrison and brown: brown is just a liabilty, for every decent block or header, there are half a dozen incidents where he gets skinned, done for pace or just kicks the ball off the field. and i think the quality of morrisons performance suffered as a result, gone were the calm passes and strong runs out of defence, replaced with some shocking panicky sliced clearances. and fryatt had an 'i play for wigan, now' performance.

i really don't want to have to lay in to howard, cause he genuinely did seem up for it, but his abilities are really so limited it just feels like a matter of time. took the goal lovely, but at the same time didn't win a thing in the air for the first 30, and was all action and little effect for the remainder, especially when gallagher came on and showed how a forward can keep possession. not to mention the clear header he allowed mcauley that would have finished the game off were it not for a top class save from the excellent weale.

can't help but think we'd have won it if he'd took off the utterly anonymous fryatt for waghorn rather than dyer or wellens.

story of the season tho, signs of real quality when we play it on the ground, signs of utter uselessness when we play hoof, just need to crack that final third, and we'll be on our way up.

so, 2 points dropped i think (especially with the clear peno) and a genuinely entertaining if slightly scrappy game, that both teams could have won...

å, og takk for ølen, haraven

The good thing is, regardless of how poor we were today, this Leicester side are made of better stuff these days as proved with our 3 straight wins after 2 humiliating defeats against Forest and Bristol City.

Any knee jerk reactions about the side by anyone serves to show massive levels of idiocy.

Think Wellens will get away with an abysmal performance today as well, thanks to the comedy triumverate at the back.

Posted

awful dead ball deliveries and crossing today. complete lack of ideas and passing game. mcgivern did his best to make us lose. glad howard played. absolute garbage really. oakley needs to be dropped. still should have won though. good to see pearson going for the win with the attacking subs. that early goal reallly effed us.

Please please PLEASE tell me you're joking?!

I am not, I agree. Posted the same thing. He isn't all that bad as many of you make it out to be.

He took one on the chin and got on with it.

He was good in the air.

He went forward and helped created chances, it was the forwards not really taking any shots that was the major problem today.

Hang on hang on, we set up solid against a team far better than their league position suggests and we were closed down quickly again and again. Our defence proved unable to deal with this and so completely bypassed the midfield who couldn't exert any influence on the game as a result. We saw when Ipswich sat back at the end that we still have class in that department.

Personally, defenders being unable to be able to take the ball around a man closing them down at speed is not unforgivable because they lack the skill of the other players. In the end we couldn't slow the game down and start playing football until Ipswich sat back and tired when we made the substituations. That we only conceded an own goal despite them largely dictating the tempo is a plus, albeit not a huge one.

In the end the only thing I really didn't expect was how dodgy the distribution was from the full-backs and Wellens.

Same old story every week now.

No right winger, awful fooking Captain Oakley had yet another shocking game to add to his large selection this season.

No pace or cutting edge up front, Howard did well for him today but the goal was a gift, Fryatt was a lazy twat all game.

We must be the worst team in the world at set pieces, didn't Wenger say once we took the best set pieces in Europe :giggle: not anymore, must have wasted 15+ today, most of them down to Shitty fooking bastard captain crap Oakley.

Even Wellens has been shite recently, King did well, Dyer did very well but you can't expect 2 players alone to keep the midfield going.

The Neilson moans are an absolute fooking joke, yes he's fooking woeful on the ball cannot cross or pass, but he always gets forward on the right wing and gets into space and good positions, the only reason he has to do that is because we have no right winger Oakley is nowhere, Neilson is doing 2 jobs.

It's actually ridiculous some of the Neilson comments i heard, thats Oakleys fault for not being in his position, if Neilson improves his basic ball skills he will be a really good player.

McGivern is shit, and compared with Berner very shit.

Brown was poor.

Morrison was fantastic and is probably Pearsons best signing at present.

Weale was good.

Weale, Morrison, King and Dyer and possibly Howard were our only hopes today.

Pearson got his subs wrong today, i feel so sorry for Dany N'Guessan, what the fook has he got to do to even get a sub appearence, and Yann should have probably been starting ahead of Howard, his goal was a gift.

Same old story every week though, no width on the right, shit Captain, no pace or cutting edge upfront and woeful set plays, Pearson needs to sort it out because it's been like that all season apart from a few great all round performances.

Posted
Terrible really.

Not impressed by Pearson looking smug all game either - setting up a team today devoid of any flair or ability to pass a ball is not much of an achievement, only to bore the national viewing public.

Smug? I thought he looked angry and scowly everytime the camera showed him

A poor poor game, but an ok result, neither team looked much cop and the conditions probably didn't help.

Neilsen and McGivern were poor and were the main contributors to the overall lack of composure on the ball, the full backs should always be an easy outlet for the ball when under pressure, but when all they do is lump it forward then you are just giving the ball away passing to them. Brown was exposed again for lack of pace, but we really don't have any other options at the moment. Now it is time for Pearson to bolster the squad.

If you take the first team back 4 as Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner then we really need a right back (Gilbert?), Morrison to play at centre and Brown McGivern and Neilsen as cover.

We alson need someone to challenge for a midfield spot, a tough tackling holding midfielder who can protect the back 4 and allow the others to play would be on my shopping list after today's game (especially if they can slot into the back four as cover if needed, Micheal Essien would be perfect  ).

Watched this game..Ipswich had better of the 1st half adied by the boost of such an early goal but your guys came back into well.

2nd half pretty scrappy and the defences weren't exactly assured for both sides.

Well done on the crowd that braved the cold!
