maddog Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Will it be 3rd time lucky for Swansea City this time We have mastered them at home twice already this season, both times going a goal down, both times going on to win 2-1 with Dany N'Guessan winners, perhaps he will finally be given a start for this one ahead of the disastrous Oakley. We haven't played them at the Liberty Stadium however for a least a decade so perhaps this will be a slightly tougher test than the home fixtures at the Walkers. Although having seen Swansea for over 3 hours at the Walkers Stadium this season if you include injury time, i don't think they look that great. Amazingly though they will go above us if they beat us Saturday, Sousa is doing just as good a job with them this season as NP here, if not better. I'm confident we will beat them for a 3rd time though. They will be well up for the game and desperate for revenge but even if they go ahead they will know they may still end up losing. David Cotterill poses a major threat, our lacklustre closing down allowed him to score a stunner in the cup game, he looks like a player. Lopez was a cheeky rascal in the League game and decent also in midfield, big Lee Trundle is always trouble up front if playing, and anyone with a name like Van Der Gun could shoot for the target But we shouldn't fear because we have already done them twice, the only issue will be players getting complacent, which Big Nige surely won't allow. Howard merits another start after his performance against Swansea, then again Kermo and N'Guessan perhaps deserved more game time against Ipswich after their prior performances in the Swansea cup match. Swansea will certainly fear N'Guessan after his 2 winning goals, so maybe he should start and strike fear into the Swans. I would be jumping for joy if Oakley gets dropped, i would be dancing if he leaves in the January transfer window for some money, he's had an absolutely rotten season, and IMO has been consistently the worst performer week in week out. Shocking passing, laziness, but mainly the disgraceful set pieces. He must have wasted 150 set pieces this season, how many more goals could we have scored had he put a few better balls in. I have been a little harsh on him but for the team captain his performances have been an absolute travesty. Combined with 0 goals and just 4 assists all season in 24 starts in all competitions it makes me But still 3 out of 3 for me over Swansea, i can't see the players or Pearson wanting to concede first for a third time in a row although perhaps that may work for us again. 2-0 Leicester, Waghorn and King
GLC Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I'm not sure, about this one, We need to make changes imo. 1-1 Waghorn
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Lose 2-1. McGivern own goal x 2, Fryatt.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I reckon we will win this 1-0! Neither team can score so that there wont be many goals. N'Guessan inside the last 10 mins.
ousefox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 2-1 win again...Howard and Wellens. Would like to see Adams or N'Guessan given a go on the right wing instead of Oakley. I hope Morrison replaces Neilson at right back and that Berner will be fit as well.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Very evenly matched, can't see past a draw.
Ashley Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 2-1 win for city. The Frenchmen getting the goals for me
Jfox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 2-1 Leicester we go 1-0 down (cotterill) but then fryatt and n'gussen to get us back into it
Asha Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 We'll take an early lead, through Oakley or Dyer. Trundle and Van Der Gun will turn it around but then Howard will head a late eqauliser.
midfield Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 some kind of boring draw with lots of wasted free kicks and corners by us and mr oakley in particular <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_<
DB11 Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I'm going for a draw. I think they're going to defend pretty much all game.
CosbehFox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 We haven't played them at the Liberty Stadium however for a least a decade We've never played them at the Liberty Stadium.
Spiritwalker Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Match abandoned at 10.55 Pools panel : home win
CosbehFox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Match abandoned at 10.55Pools panel : home win No way, the forecast is good and speaking to a couple of Jacks, they reckon Swansea is in decent nick.
jonthefox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 1-0 city.. really cant see a win unless things are shaken up, but i can never bet against city..
Tony Pine Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 probably a draw but fingers crossed for a win start n'guessan! someone needs to injure oakley in training so he has an excuse to be dropped
maddog Posted 12 January 2010 Author Posted 12 January 2010 We've never played them at the Liberty Stadium. I searched for Leicester Swansea previous meetings and looked back on results on OS to 01/02 season and we didn't play them and couldn't find any info on it. Thanks Cardiff Fox for the epic knowledge though And i didn't want to put we've never played them there if we had done.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Draw i reckon. Depends on the squad NP plays.
CosbehFox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Thanks Cardiff Fox for the epic knowledge though Without being patronising they moved into their new stadium just three years ago. Played at the Vetch, ground and half so I am informed.
lcfc_jme Posted 13 January 2010 Posted 13 January 2010 Hopefully manage to actually see a game in Wales this time around. And we'll probably lose. Fantabulous.
