Dr The Singh Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I know, I know - I just still have an ounce of compassion left for Colin. However strange the man is, he's not dangerous, he doesn't plan evil and he's not really causing significant harm. He's bringing significant entertainment. He's many of the things described and listed in this thread, personally I just find it difficult to condemn him to public slander. Don't get me wrong there are people on here that I wouldn't blink an eye if they were bludgeoned to death with a sparrow in a sock by a gang of school children, I'm just not ready to pass sentence at this time. My question is this: 'If they didn't want a Colin, who appointed one?' Has Colin from his previous role in the public eye changed so significantly - I think not. If I want Helen Mirren cast in my film but I give the job to Susan Boyle from X factor, I shouldn't be surprised when 'Ronseal' isn't written on the tin and they don't want her at the BAFTA's. It's hard being in the public eye and if you are not naturally equipped with skills to do so it can go wrong very quickly - maybe they should think about more support and guidance a little earlier or a screening process or training........... It's like asking Daggers to be Head UN Peacekeeper....... it's gonna be funny and it's gonna end in tears but Colin was never gonna be anything else but Colin. And Colin hasn't changed. N. Yes he is dangerous, he's in danger of getting himself demolished. Any person who label the whole the sikh populus as terrorist, and those that suffered genocidal attacks, mass rapes and killings and have yet to witness any kind of justice as 'irrelevant' and there plight as 'last century'. Just a day after the 'real ira' had bombed a police recruitment centre in northern ireland, killing many innocent people, he labelled myself and sikhs of leicester and the rest of the world who differed in his chain of thought as terrorist of those of the 'real ira'. That is vile, insensitive and very, very dangerous!!! Evil, this guy is horrid, if he had the guts to say anything to my face and atleast offer a apology, I may agree, but to mock, disregard, and totally ingnore the plight and sufferring of millions JUST because you may in anyway disagree on something is wrong and evil. Would he have the guts to say to those tens of thousands of children, whose mothers were raped and murdered by the state, who live in a colony, shunted by society, locked away from the public eye and the media, that there plight is irrelevant!! That my friend is the thinking of someone so biggoted and little minded, bordering of something pure evil!! On a plus side, he is quite entertaining as a Mayor, because he takes himself very seriously and unfortunately for him, he;s been found to be a bafooon, and in my opinion a very evil biggoted bafoon!!

These are some concerning statements my friend - I had no idea he had gone this far. As you know I could not endorse such views if my life depended on it. How did a man then, with such alleged views get the opportunity to hold office? Something is seriously wrong with the current system methinks. N.

Finnegan Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Obviously he's not quite stupid enough to repeat some of his stronger views on here 'irl.' But I am genuinely baffled, hearing what I hear working on his ward, that he is still a Labour rep. They'll always hold that seat, it's a shoe-in, you'd think they'd have a better candidate. Someone actually FROM the New Parks would be a start.
Alexikokopops Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 The council's media boss Mark Bentley was sent an e-mail when Coun Hall's trousers fell down on June 29. It said: "The Lord Mayor has attended Southfields Library today and, while making a speech in front of primary children from three schools, his trousers fell down to his ankles. Not sure if the press were there but the chances of it not being made public given the number of people are slim." Mr Bentley replied: "Oh my God. I am completely lost for words." This really made me LAUGH OUT LOUD. Superb
skinnydipper Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I'd quite like to see " Ultra - The Movie " Royalties could go to those still traumatised kids
Dr The Singh Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 The truth is out there. There's the proof, if you ever have half an hour to waste, then please do read the whole thread, there's some right comedy momments on it!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 It's true he says a lot of reactionary things but I think that's more because he's a daft sod that can't help expressing an opinion on any matter, even when he's not in an informed position to do so, which is hardly unusual on FT or internet forums in general. To be truly dangerous you've got to be taken seriously, and the prospects for that were limited even before the trouser incident

To be truly dangerous you've got to be taken seriously, and the prospects for that were limited even before the trouser incident and what pisses me off most about him, is that he does this, is proven wrong or an idiot, makes a snidey childish comment and then vanishes refusing to justify his outbursts. mercifully, since his upward mobility, he seems to have toned his nonsense down on here, transferring it to national tabloids instead.

He's a prize penis, end of. Lets remember this is the bloke who has (quite comically) threatned to assault members of this forum with a weapon, banded around no end of rather severe and personal insults and has some very warped views, he is a stuborn, single minded, self rightious, pompus, narrsastic twat and a public disgarce.
Zingari Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 yeah yeah yeah but you gotta admit , he is fookin hilarious probably unintentionally though
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 yeah yeah yeah but you gotta admit , he is fookin hilarious probably unintentionally though Oh as a Mayor he is comedy gold. I just don't like this image people seem to have of him as someone who is a bit dopey and doesn't mean to offend, trust me he really does. He will argue to the death with people who disagree with him and when outgunned he will just turn to insults and more extreme views in order to shock.

But you see, Manny, I have met him. It was this admittedly brief meeting that made it clear within seconds that despite his, shall we say, 'confrontational' internet persona, that in reality he's just some bloke that goes on a bit, and any power or presence that I might have associated with him evaporated in an instant, and his appointment as comedy mayor of Leicester didn't restore it. Years wasted on the internet have told me that some people will say anything, and let's face it, one of the main uses of the internet is to provide a platform for people that wouldn't get one otherwise. I'm not advocating a moral green light for those with offensive views, and it's absolutely healthy that when people come out with nonsense that it's always challenged, but at the same time I refuse to take keyboard warriors of his ilk that seriously
Zingari Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 agreed Bellend , some folk are actually in danger of taking him seriously btw , does he still live wi' his mam ?
Finnegan Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 agreed Bellend , some folk are actually in danger of taking him seriously btw , does he still live wi' his mam ? But what everyone is overlooking is that, while Mayor is a pointless position and all he can do is make us look silly; behind the scenes he still IS a cllr. That might not exactly be a senior politician but it still gives him a direct influence on people's lives.

He is just as vile in his personal life and public in his thinking!!! There's a massive thick grey line on what people say on furms and what they would in public, and in my personal discussions with his Mayor ship is that he is exactly that, a vile bigotted man!!!
James. Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Closest I got to meeting him was seeing him, davieG and Thracian walking to Brammal Lane together (holding hands, I might add). The only thing I remember was that he walked a bit funny. That probably explains a lot actually.

Anybody seeing them together is likely to get a boner, so we will let his lordship off that one!!!
Finnegan Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 I don't think there's THAT big a diference in what people say on here and what they say 'in life.' It's just that on here we are in our comfort zone straight away while face to face meetings take a bit of relaxing into. Smuts is the classic example: gobshite on here, timid as anything first FT gathering. Fast forward a few meet-ups and he's a cheeky gobshite in person too! I must say, I treat my mates in person as nobbishly as I treat you lot. Ps: hurrah, learned how to paragraph on my phone!

Manwell Pablo Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Watch out, he'll get his legal team onto you. I plead fair comment.
