Rich Fox Posted 8 February 2010 Posted 8 February 2010 This reminds me why I hate rugby union so much when I hear such a patronising tigers supporting twat as this guy moaning about a bit of bad language and he was not even in the family stand. Then he complains to the club and the soft sods give him 2 tickets for the s****horpe game and he accepts them! If he hates it that much why come back? Also is it less of a problem if he goes to the tigers and his poor little kid has to witness a mass scrap on the pitch and a bit of eye gauging so much better that a bit of swearing in the crowd?
Maybes Posted 8 February 2010 Posted 8 February 2010 Nothing to do with Blackpool or the flare.Just twats moaning about people disrespecting the respect campaign at the Newcastle game, People moaning about standing (Mostly at away matches), Swearing, e.t.c. To be honest I wish they would fook off and not come to city games.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 8 February 2010 Posted 8 February 2010 What did I miss. What were these two callers rambling on about?Im guessing moaning about the standing at bpool and the flare? He also moaned about people who come on here moaning about people on the moan-in even though they have missed what they were moaning about in the first place!! Some people go out their way to be upset about the moaners. Now I'm moaning

I think it's pretty fvcking disgusting the club are dishing out free tickets to placate anal cvnts that have got riled up about the most minor things. The geezer next to me at Newcastle stank like a tramp's colostomy bag, am I gunna get a free ticket?! Am I fvck.
wigstonexile Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 To be honest I wish they would fook off and not come to city games. I wish some of you who cannot string more than four words together without using offensive language would stop going to matches. if you cannot express yourself without such language it's a poor do
The Doctor Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I wish some of you who cannot string more than four words together without using offensive language would stop going to matches. if you cannot express yourself without such language it's a poor do a lot of the fans can, however most of this so called "offensive language" is used in chants, which need to be short, snappy and fairly easy to remember and insulting someone using more intellectual language won't work because the words won't fit. Also when did the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" stop being relevant?
sbfox Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I wish some of you who cannot string more than four words together without using offensive language would stop going to matches. if you cannot express yourself without such language it's a poor do Aye, but the chant, '$hit ground no fans', would be, well, $hit if it became, "your ground is made of inferior quality building products and none of your fanbase bother turning up to matches", wouldn't it? Its bloody football... My parents took me to sit in the Filbo Kop, amongst the shouting, screaming and swearing, when I was younger and I've turned out alright (as have other countless thousands).
Corky Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Having just listened to the Moan-In on the Iplayer, I couldn't believe what was being said. Firstly, the Tigers fan was totally naive. However "wrong" it may seem, bad language will happen. It's society. Heat of the moment stuff, you won't and shouldn't totally eradicate it. The Respect campaign is a load of crap (oh sorry, rubbish), the officials will never get respect from the supporters. The fact he got two free tickets is ridiculous. Many have not so great experiences at football, but they get on with it, accept it and don't make too much of a fuss. Can't believe the club were so soft. And then we move on to the next caller. We, as a support, don't en masse stand up at away games. The only one this season that I've attended when this occurred was Forest. It may be an inconvinience, but you can work round it and sort something that suits everyone. Unbelievable.

C-man Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I can't wait to listen to this. Just loading it up, fancy a laugh. ... I despair, I really do. Think Dagnall and Birch handled those weapons pretty well though, fair play.
Walshy5 Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Some bloke who had his young lad with him turned round to me once in the kop and asked me to mind my language so my reply was if you dont like it you should be sitting in the family stand because thats what its for. I think i had a very valid point.

I think i had a very valid point. Spot on. I'm taking my 5 year old on Saturday for the first time, and then off to visit ageing relatives afterwards. I'd love to take my normal seat in the kop but fear the relatives may be shocked by my lad blurting out something he has heard. We'll be sat in the family area. We'll also probably be evicted from the family area if I forget where I am.

If you don't like swearing at football wear ear-muffs or take up knitting instead.
lou Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 All these pratts moaning about bad language at a football match havent wandered past a school playground lately have they? Even the primary school kids swear like troopers
Tommeh Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Theres a club for al these anti swearing, anti standers to support called MK Dons, so yeah see ya.
wigstonexile Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 This is a wind-up, right? If you don't like swearing at football wear ear-muffs or take up knitting instead. I have been supporting City for 50 plus years why should I stop because of poor demented idiots
Matt Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I have been supporting City for 50 plus years why should I stop because of poor demented idiots Because you've got the problem with it and don't like it. You're not going to stop them, if it bother you that much don't go, if you don't want to stop going - Shut up, and put up. Simples.
MrSpaM Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 About 50-60% of the crowd swear every time the opposition take a goal kick, it's actually become part of our game. This has happened since we were at Filbert Street, and people choose to start moaning about it now on the radio. I'm losing faith in humanity.
Sir Fynwy Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I have been supporting City for 50 plus years why should I stop because of poor demented idiots Whilst not condoning the language at football it has been part and parcel of the game for the 30 years + that I have been going to games, if you have an issue with it I'm surprised you haven't noticed it until now.

Agreed, it's part and parcel of the game....majority of it is banter and some of it is unsulting but with a sporting edge to it!!! I take my young one to city and we don't sit in the family stand, and yes people do swear around us, but my kid is bright enough to know that this type of behaviour is for only matches and nothing else!!
Billy_Velvetone Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I really don't see what the problem is with a bit of colourful language . It's football, what do people expect. I'm a passionate fan and emotions get the better of me, so if there's a bad decision I'm gonna call the ref a c#nt. I don't walk around in real life f-ing and blinding all day long but football is a release from the monotony of 9-5 so I'm gonna sing and swear if I want too. In an ideal world I'd like to stand all game but I do understand sometimes that's not possible. It really does my head in all this b#llocks about sitting down and no swearing. Soon it'll be no singing and no cheering. If people don't like it don't come down and go and support the tigers with the rest of the farm boy brigade.

foxoffderby Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 I have been supporting City for 50 plus years why should I stop because of poor demented idiots Im afraid swearing is part of the social fabric of society, it happens. Swearing at football matches is not a new concept it has been around since the dawn of the game and im sure in fact I know it occured when you started going 50 plus years ago. I've sworn many times at the ground a quiet word in my ear from one of the stewards normally does the trick.
flanimal Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Dude, swearing is part of the excitement, letting go, just feeding off the energy. It happens during the game, then people calm down. Matchday catharsis. Just think of it like a form of tourrets that lasts around 90+ mins, and you'll be OK. You 'king twat.
