C.J Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Mark my words, next season is the year of the kermit. Love it!
Cobbo Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 I think the lad is a all round talented player, with exceptionally good judgement on the high ball. His goal scoring prowess is yet to be proven, but I certainly think he is an asset to the squad and shows great desire whenever he's called upon. Here's hoping he can nab a goal in the coming games and perhaps get on a roll to get 5 or so before the season's out.
Bert Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Right, so we payed £1.5m to the sheep for Howard then we brought Kermo in on a free and he's performing better and is a better player, am I right? Howards scored this season. Yann hasn't. But Yann tracks back and tackles, Howards doesn't and wins just as much in the air as Howard, if not more.
milan_foxes Posted 14 February 2010 Author Posted 14 February 2010 He is very much like kaebi, his name begins with a K and the highlight of his career is a youtube video Except Kaebi didnt do anything and never played.
Bert Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Except Kaebi didnt do anything and never played. He did play, actually. Made a goal with a throw-in too.
Ozwin Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Isn't he banned from playing football for life or something now?
eleven points Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Yeah, last I heard, he got banned for life after protesting against the Iranian Government.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 He's hardly been given any chances, he comes off the bench quite a bit but rarely does he start, either due to injury or other strikers that Pearson prefers are fit.Did Kermo set up Waggys goal against Scunny at their place? Quick, get him a statue
marbelladave Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 I think Yanni is a very decent player in search of a role, rather like Gallagher in fact. Both of them are supposed to be strikers, but neither look comfortable leading the line and neither look like they are going to poach goals from around the 6 yd box. Both prefer to drop off the frontman and do their work around the edge of the penalty box, Yanni is good in the air, Gallagher better on the floor and at the moment Gallagher has the game time and the confidence. Yanni has a reputation as a good finisher, so I would love to see him given time in the center of a front three, pushing well forward with Waghorn to the right and Dyer or N'Guessan on the left.
Jimbo Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 He's been at the club since August, hardly 5 minutes. If he hasn't settled in by now then you really have to wonder how much longer it'll take.Pointless because he has no role at the club. I actually feel sorry for the guy, plucked from his home country into obscurity because he's not right for this league. He's clearly not got much of a goalscoring instinct for a striker (in my opinion). So if he's not much use up front where to play him? Attacking midfield? No thanks, I think Gallagher's quite clearly beginning to put a marker on that position. From what I've seen the only attribute he has that could possibly be of any use for us is his heading, but despite winning a few great flick-ons has it ever led anywhere?...not that I've seen. I think this is a little unfair When he came over in August he could hardly speak a word of English. It's not just his game he has to adapt it's his whole lifestyle! His role at the club at the moment is to get used to the English game for this season and settle down in England. I geniunely think we'll see more of him from next season. He's not a goal scorer, i think we can all see that. His game is about creation. If we can play him in the centre of a forward 3, with Gallagher and Waghorn either side then I think we'll see some good things. He just needs one goal to kick start his career for us, he'll never get a bucket load but I think he'll chip with a few and maybe reach double figures He's a poor man Cantona!
Jimmy Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 think he needs a run of at least 5 games where he starts upfront to show what he can do, when ever he plays its normally as a sub and in midfield
milan_foxes Posted 15 February 2010 Author Posted 15 February 2010 Quick, get him a statue Just asking !
Tony Pine Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 his performance at the weekend instilled a bit of faith in me
milan_foxes Posted 16 February 2010 Author Posted 16 February 2010 See he only got 20 minutes today, does anyone know how he did or could they tell from Stringer how Kermo did ?
Webbo Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 See he only got 20 minutes today, does anyone know how he did or could they tell from Stringer how Kermo did ? His header set up the goal.
Salieri Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Yanns nickname seems to deviate between Kermo and Kermit depending on how he's played.
Bert Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 His header set up the goal. 90:00+1:29 The assist for the goal came from Michael Morrison
lildave3 Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Pretty sure it was him that set up the goal tonight. Did ok, obviously won everything but for some reason was tracking back and playing centre midfield no end! Not that he didn't do well doing what he did, just seemed on when he was supposed to be our main outlet.
Fox You Forest Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Yeah I thought it was him too, although pillar 4 was in the way slightly.
Simo86 Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Yeah I thought it was him too, although pillar 4 was in the way slightly. Just watched the hignlights and it was Kermorgant who flicked the ball on. John Salako said it was N'Guessan whilst he was commentating for SSN
Tilley Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 Still don't see what this chap offers, I actually prefer Howard. (Never thought I'd say that!)
