Wayne Bridge makes himself unavailable for England

I think what alot of the Terry defenders are missing is that Bridge is claiming the affair started before Him and his Mrs split up.. Terry is denying this, of course...

Fucking scum Chelsea fans.

How ridiculous do you have to be to boo the man for an entire game for being the victim in all of this? Regardless of whether or not you stand by John Terry, taking your anger out on Bridge is raw filth.

good on wayne bridge for standing by his morals. good on him too for looking him dead in the eye too whilst terry looked away or seemed to mumble something. i know if i was wayne i would of wanted to smash him one there and then.

There is no way he could have shaken his hand. To the media, that would have meant he has forgiven him. Not so. TEAM BRIDGE

Did you expect them to do much different though?

No because they seen a man reject a handshake, what were they meant to do, not stand by there captain? If I was a Chelsea player and seen Bridge refuse to shake his hand then I would probably of not shaken Bridge's hand, I would stand by the captain. Of course Chelsea fans were going to boo him, just like many a football player get's booed for their personal lives, oh sorry Bridge's EX decided to sleep with someone else, what a shame but we wont boo him. Whatever.

This is the same Wayne Bridge who has turned his back on his country aswell because Terry is in the squad, I'm sorry I would give my right hand to play for any minute for England and this twat gives up a spot at the World Cup because his EX was and probably still is sleeping with his mate, get a grip. I'm glad Bridge has got booed, he has given up on probably one of the only reasons he wanted to play football in the first place.. to play for England. Loser.

lol

Seriously, if my mate had slept with my EX then I wouldnt give up my spot at the World Cup, this type of thing has happens all the time away from the celebrity cirlce and I have mates who have been in this situation and they have managed to put it behind them.

All depends on what type of person you are I guess but Bridge is a clown in my opinion the World Cup!

Bingo mate.

I personally couldn't stand to be within 20 miles of Terry after that, but some people can live with it and get on with it.

Needless to say I respect Bridge's decision and have lost ALL respect for Terry, and the way he's been performing recently is he even that important to our squad? The whole situation has clearly affected his last 3 performances at Everton, Inter and on saturday.

I wonder if people's perceptions of this EX situation would be different if she was his Wife? She would not have been Ex then, just seperated. People seem to perceive this as some kind of informal relationship, whereas in fact they shared a home for years and have a child together. I would not want someone as my friend who thought it was a acceptable, even a few months after a seperation, to sleep with my Wife, partner whatever the status.

Unless perhaps you happened to have a big stick...

Yeah but I think Terry personally has it in him to recover quickly from this bad patch of performances and get back to how he was playing in time for the World Cup, sorry to say this to some of you 'Team Bridge' fans but if you take Terry out of the England side then you are taking out our best defender, seriously.

I just hope fans dont boo Terry tomorrow night because if we start to turn on such an important player in our last few games before the World Cup then it could have a bad effect on him and the squad.

Grow a brain, Lofty, you can stand by your Captain without booing the bloke who he's put through however much trauma. You can sing his name, you can clap him when he's on the ball, you can even hold up banners if that's your thing.

Bridge had every reason not to want to shake John Terry's hand, he didn't make a big scene about it, he didn't hit him or spit at him or do anything unpleasant - he just professionally moved on with his life and started the game.

So you can stick your "of course they booed him" somewhere the sun doesn't shine. It was completely out of line.

Edit: I'd like to state for the record that, while I don't actually like John Terry, I do feel sorry for him to some extent and I do hate the demonization of him. I'm not saying HE should be booed or victimized, he did something that plenty of men and women have done around the globe since the dawn of relationships. It's never nice but it's impulsive, reckless and we're all capable of stupidity - it shouldn't be smeared across the nation and it shouldn't be damning our professional lives. I do think he should go to the World Cup and if I were English I don't think I'd even have called for his removal from the Captaincy unless it was disrupting the squad.

I just think that Wayne Bridge should be respected and given a fair degree of sympathy and not vilified by a bunch of Neanderthal, mockney twats.

lol like I said, many a set of fans have booed a player over their personal lives and Bridge is just the next to take that flack. Tough shit, anyway why did Bellamy not have the 'respect' what the whole handshake is all about anyway not to look Terry in the eye? And then come out after with the comments he did? Surely Bellamy is just sticking up for his team mate? Fair enough, that's what I would of done stuck up for a team mate and not shaken his hand.

As I said earlier people take these matters in different ways, just accept it instead of coming and moaning about Chelsea fans.

Why should it be accepted? Plenty of people give racist or homophobic abuse at football matches, that doesn't mean it's justified or that people shouldn't voice their disdain about it. It's not like I'm launching some campaign to have the Chelsea support punished and I'm not ranting and raving about it in every thread.

I'm just stating, here and now, that I think it was ludicrously out of line and out of touch for the Chelsea support to try and make a villain out of the victim.

That's the key here. Plenty of footballers might have been taunted or booed for their personal lives but it's usually when there are allegations that they have done something wrong, that they have offended. Wayne Bridge is completely just a victim in this situation and he's still being rounded on.

If there's one thing to come out of all this it's that after many years of thinking "twat" I now Fu.cking love Craig Bellamy.

Like I said twice already (I think) Chelsea's captain was made to look a bit of a dickhead by Bridge's rejection, yes which is only fair considering what has happened last month but surely a set of supporters at any team are going to stick up and get behind their captain? And please dont say they would because they would.

I know I use Liverpool for a lot of examples but last year when Gerrard was guilty of hitting that lad in a bar and was arrested and released on bail everyone in the UK knew Gerrard was guilty we all seen the videotape of him hitting the lad, still every single Liverpool fan was behind Gerrard, thats just what supporters do, Chelsea fans arent going to see all the fault on their captain and are going to boo Bridge, just like if it was a professional Gerrard had punched if he was to play at Anfield in weeks after he would of got booed, thats football and thats supporters for you.
