THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Surprised no-one mentioned it. I remember standing on the hard shoulder after our coach broke down on the way back to Filbo, that was after the air con packed in and we had to wait an hour at a service station for the driver to swap shifts. Still, good result and amazing how time flies!
Sparky Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 I remember directing traffic whilst dancing jubilantly outside Stanmore tube station !!
samjohnson Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Cant believe that was 10 years ago... Memories of those horrible plastic seats which no-one sat on are the first things i remember of that final Brilliant day out

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 I was 8 at the time and it was my second time going to Wembley sine first seeing us when I was nearly 6. After hearing about previous Wembley trips from my Dad I almost thought it was an annual thing. Hopefully we can go to the new one this year!
AmericanScott Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 I remember my Dad dragging me into Manhattan to watch this at some footy pub in NY.
Anish Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 F**king hell can't believe it was 10 years ago. That week was probably the crest of the wave in terms of our history - winning the league cup and the following week destroying Sunderland 5-2. Wish I get to see another cup win in my lifetime!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Again, too drunk to really appreciate it
Webbo Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 I remember there was a large function room that sold cheap Guinness before the match(I think it was going out of code). Later we stood outside the bar singing 'on the dole' as the Tranmere buses went by.
Zingari Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 i wonder what the mighty Forest were doing on that day ?
Jimothy Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 i wonder what the mighty Forest were doing on that day ? According to Soccerbase, losing 3-0 to Wolves on the 26th.
MPH Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 I remember becoming the absolute best mates with some seriously fat hairy sweaty man who was sitting next to me that day... I do this often on important games... i hugged him like i have hugged no other man before....
Lillehamring Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 oh, it seems much longer ago than that, cool, now i don't feel so old

tylesta Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 i was there with my heavily pregnant wife ( and therefore so was my boy matt elliott), even though he didnt arrive till july! btw it was the first domestin trophy of the decade ( bit of trivia!) and the last league cup to ever be won at the old wembley....also the first ever time we lifted a domestic cup at the stadium...
Guest Bilo Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 i wonder what the mighty Forest were doing on that day ? According to Soccerbase, losing 3-0 to Wolves on the 26th. A division below us as well. MASSIVE.
wirralsimon Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Looking at the Youtube video of the presentation it was a poignant moment when MON went to see Brian Clough before he had even picked up the trophy, especially given their shared history and the fact that "Old Big 'ead" is no longer with us. Simon
Zingari Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 A division below us as well. MASSIVE. I'll bet the florists looked at Derby's result before they bothered finding out about our cup triumph
ousefox Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Shame i was to young to go to this. Hopefully we will win something in the not too distant future.
C.J Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 I remember it as if it was yesterday. Those were the days when shit clubs like Tranmere got to finals. Cant see that happening today!!!
Sampson Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Even though we were hot favourites, all I can remember the pre-match build up being about was Dave Challinor's ling throw-ins.
