Edmund Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 maddog, why have you tagged this thread with a 'happy' smilie? That's not a happy smiley
dandannieldanok Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 You've changed your tune since you used to come on our forum. Have I? I don't remember declaring any like or dislike for Sheffield Wednesday. If I did say I like Sheff Weds then yes I have changed my tune. I want Sheff Weds to go down because of the stick endured at the end of 07/08 when we got relegated at your expense. would you like me to go through performances in the season where he played about 1/3rd of the games (either 05/06 or 06/07) and take a look at how many basic errors he was making? He's mid-table L1 at best, why do you think he was sent out on loan to luton last season when we were having a keeping crisis? Yeah if you've got time, because I can't remember any 'basic errors'.
Matt Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Pff... that's taken the wind out of the sails a bit...However, having taken a bit of time to think about it, we're still in a very good position... it's just that we've got some very difficult games coming up that we could have done with a bit more of a cushion going in to. Still, got to believe that we'll still make it! This. I was comparing our games with Forest when chatting to a Forest fan at work this week, and I think their 'hardest game' (In terms of league position) to come was today against Swansea, the teams they have left look relitivly 'easy' as we all know anyone can beat anyone in this weird league but I think i'd rather have the games they have left compared to ours, we really do have a tough last 11 or however many games are left. Having said that, If i'm honest i'd probably prefer the 'harder games' playing against the teams at the top of the league because we seem play better against those teams. I said/thought we'd lose today it had it written all over it, We raise or lower (either) our game to the opposition's standard, If it's a team at the top of the league, we know we've got to be up for the game in order to win, if it's a team doing not so well we don't seem to play very well and struggle - usually getting a result but occasionally losing. We've always done it, we seem better in being up for games this season but we still play poorly when playing a struggling team.
Guest Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 We fully deserved the 3 points. Fantastic move for the second goal and we could easily have had more. Your centre back Brown is shocking. Leon gave him the runaround all game. Great following from your boys. Good luck for the rest of the season. You've changed your tune since you used to come on our forum. Personally I didn't think Brown was our worst defender this afternoon, your right winger gave Bruno a bit of a nightmare while he was on. We'll take this result on the chin and move on. Think we all knew that a team who got whooped last week weren't gonna be a pushover again. I really don't know how you lot still had 11 men on the pitch even by half time to be honest tartan. Shambolic refereeing IMHO but there we go. Onwards and upwards
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 couldnt attend/listen to the match today but had a bad feeling about this match all week, I blame releasing that ridiculous forest DVD.

The Doctor Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Yeah if you've got time, because I can't remember any 'basic errors'. Look he made a fair few errors with positioning and desisicion making and thats why i personally don't THINK he's very capable. The key words there being personally & think, for instance i think neilson is a good player - does that mean he's a good player?
Edmund Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 At least we've seen the back of Alan Irvine for this season. We've come up against him 3 times and lost all 3 so far.
The Doctor Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Who's Cardiff's game in hand against? ipswich i think.

If you don't think he's good enough then fine, but be reasonable; "we're screwed because of his existence".

Have to say you are right about Brown he is hopeless.
nffc_Galidia Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Funny old league. I've given up trying to predict any scorelines now. down one week then up the next.. Seems like West Brom, Leicester, Forest fans are all suffering the same up's and downs...
dandannieldanok Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Have to say you are right about Brown he is hopeless. He's inconsistent not hopeless.
Smudge Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 He's inconsistent not hopeless. He had stomach cramps, toothache and the pitch was unplayable. He was also warned by the ref prior to the game.

CKB Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 I just wasn't confident allweek we could get something outta this game i just dunno why and when i heard NP had got MOTM that confidence went even further down and well i was right Still 5th but the chasing pack have gained on us.. No need for any panic, lets just see what next week brings!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Have to say you are right about Brown he is hopeless. Thats right, Just because we lost, Blame it on Brown. He's had a good few games, Donny and last saturday. As Dan said, He's inconsistent.
CKB Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 any news on what happend to Chris Weale I heard on SSN he slid out for a ball and smacked his knee on his nose and bust it?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 any news on what happend to Chris Weale Nose Bleed I think mate. Stringer probably over-egged it.
Jimmy Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 disappointing performance, far too complacent.Like plymouth, sheff wed are down there due to a terrible regime under the previous manager rather than a lack of ability. Hope weale is fit for next week, else we're screwed simply because of the exsistance of conrad logan. i'd honestly rather have Tony Warner, Dave Martin or Rab Douglas in goal than him, In fact i'd rather get David Blunkett in goal than logan, and Pentney/Ambrusics don't have enough experience to cover. Got to hit back V Cardiff next week. Still other results went fairly well for us. today was Logan's 1st appearance for us in 3 years, he played no part in our relegation campaign having played a vital role in keeping us up the year before (he played that 5 game spell under Worthington that kept us up), you haven't seen him play (unless you went to any of his loan clubs), since then so to judge him on that, and he wasn't that bad back then either, is a little harsh. Keepers mature a lot in that time, he's done enough to make NP change his mind on him and even earn a new contract so he can't be the disaster waiting to happen you are making him out to be, last season NP didn't seem to think he was fit enough or had the right attitude, he has visibly lost weight and NP seems happy with him now.
