Ashley Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Disapointing performance yesterday to say the least, why isit that when ever we take a big following away from home our players dont seem to want it? It pissed me off that Sheffield Wednesday stewards took my England flag off me untill the end of the game and yet flags are allowed in the home end and no it didnt have a flag pole.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 I'd like to know why N'Guessan wasnt brought on. We needed someone to run at people with some physical presence as Gallagher was doing nothing down that side. Thought it was pretty stupid to bring on Kermorgant and Howard as well, with no one actually looking to put crosses in for them. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At least he tried to change things. Even Fergie gets it wrong sometimes you know. I can understand why he brought on a couple of big strikers to huff and puff as the other way was quite clearly not working yesterday. In his interview after he said that we didn't get to grips with their style of play so he tried to change it. Seems fair enough to me.
Guest Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 My mate, who so far has only turned up to Preston in the cup, Barnsley away and yesterday (I've told him to stay away from now on) was bitching about Brown's distribution, as many were, when he was texting someone he missed probably the one great ball from him all afternoon played long out to Gally on the left at the time I think
Mikey Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Well, we were shit yesterday. Jermaine Johnson absolutely ripped us to shreds. Waghorn for all his own effort, had no support. Brown and Hobbs had a shocker. Also, Wednesday home fans are worse than our fans at home for atmosphere and moaning at fu*k all. Oh well, beat Cardiff and it will be forgotten.
maddog Posted 7 March 2010 Author Posted 7 March 2010 Doesn't sound good from what people are saying. But to be fair a loss to Wednesday and a win against Cardiff is better than the other way round. Not that we are guaranteed to win against Cardiff of course. Coventry are playing us and Cardiff in their next few games. Blackpool have got Sheffield United away and West Brom away in their next two. TBH i can't see one of those chasing sides getting into the top six at all now for the rest of the season. If we beat the sides around us then that will seal it for us, but even if we draw to them at least they won't catch us up anymore. The only way we can fook this up is if we lose to Cov and Cardiff but even then we will still be in the top six places probably. Even if we lose to Palace aswell in between we may still be in the top six. We won't be in 7th place or worse for the rest of the season. We will remain in the playoffs for all the remaining games is what i'm saying.
Tommeh Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 The game yesterday only succeeded in getting in the way of a bloody good knees up.
C-man Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Well done Nige for being 5th but yesterdays performance was absolutely fookin garbage! Wayne Brown's passin was a joke and the injury to Weale happened cos Berner couldn't even head the ball back to him straight, making him stretch to clear it for a corner! Waste of time and money yesterday! Wankers No, the injury to Weale was a facial one that occured when Tudgay slid into him. Seriously when has Wayne Brown's passing not been a joke? Lamenting Brown for his passing does fuck all but put him under more pressure. You just have to live with the fact that he can't pass and appreciate that his defending has won us points throughout the season. In all fairness to Wednesday, they deserve a bit more praise that I've seen so far. They never once allowed us to get into any sort of passing rhythm and Irvine clearly had done his homework - press our back four and gain posession from the long balls we're forced into. It's really not that hard and I fail to understand why more teams don't press us like Wednesday did yesterday. Most teams that play high pressure games against us get a result against us - Ipswich did it at our place and we were fortunate to get a draw. There were moments in the game that could have completely swung the match in our favour - Grant's save from Waghorn in the first half will be up there with the best all season. At the end of the day, we didn't play well and we're punished. You move onto the next one. All in all a great day and night out slightly tempered by the hours of 3pm till 5. I think that pretty much sums up everyone I was with's opinion on yesterday.
Lillehamring Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At least he tried to change things. Even Fergie gets it wrong sometimes you know. I can understand why he brought on a couple of big strikers to huff and puff as the other way was quite clearly not working yesterday. In his interview after he said that we didn't get to grips with their style of play so he tried to change it. Seems fair enough to me. no one is denying that a change needed to be made, but it didn't seem to address the problem at all, and not the first time that NP has changed the front two when we haven't created chances. the only player seeming to come out of this with any kind of credit is waghorn, which suggests to me that he was doing all he could, the fact that we managed only 3 or 4 shots in over 60 minutes can't be down to the wrong personnel up front but from not enough service from the midfield - was that not the case? to me, it seems like pearson's change of tactic, was to stick yann and howard up front and hope we'd finally convert a corner or free kick. unfortunately, it sounded like howard gave away more than he won.
Simi Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Very frustrating performance, we just never looked like scoring at any point. Starting with one up top seemed like such a stupid idea, a team that has been on poor form and just got whacked in their last game, surely the better tactic would have been to go and try and get an early goal and kill things? Instead what we did was set up negativley and let them control the game and what happened? They scored. So now would have probably been a good time to switch to 4-4-2 and put Gally up front? Apparently not, we stook with him playing wide where I feel he's never really made a impact and we were completely ineffectual. Then we go 2-0 down, now we have to make changes right away, yes? After five minutes of thinking, finally we make a double change. So we bring Howard on, fair enough. But then we go and put on Kermo and lose all of our width, not that it was doing us many favours, but still, with Howard on we could have done with a wide man. Who could that? Oh, N'Guessan, a man that has been fairly effective when he has played, but for some reason we left him on the bench and the game faded out exactly how I expected it... Long ball > Win header/foul > Lose the second ball/Free kick. Think Pearson made a lot of errors yesterday, big few weeks coming up.
Shane Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 The 4-5-1 just didnt work out. Absolutely no service to waghorn, and the only service he did get was long balls from the back. Oakley needs to be dropped.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 The truth is, that if we are realistic promotion candidates, then this was a game we should not have lost. Every point counts. Well done Wednesday, however, you were worthy winners. I left the ground wishing I had not gone, for we never looked like winning. An all round, very poor, team performance.
Ozwin Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Yeah fair play to Wednesday, they capatalized on us being crap and deservidly took the 3 points. I wish them well, they shouldn't be in League 1 and I hope we play them again next year.

lcfcadam Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Ever think you may have the wrong hobby then? I do occassionally wish I hadn't got hooked on football, but no turning back once it's happened... Anyway the good times are usually worth the bad ones. Thats the joy of being a Leicester fan!It would be boring if we won all the time! (Just look at the ****** at Old Trafford!) I know, it would just be nice to see something vaguely similar two weeks in a row for once. Even our back-to-back victories are played completely differently! "Sick of supporting a team that plays completely differently week in week out" This is LEICESTER.If you want predictable football fook off and watch man u. Calm down mate - I live for the good moments and accept that you have to take the bad, sometimes it's just gets on my tits that we can't achieve some sort of consistency (not in terms of results, we've just had an 8 game unbeaten run; I'm talking about playing style and on-pitch attitude). I hardly think being a bit pissed off after a truly crap day all-told is worthy of being told to "fook off and watch man u".
Ozwin Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 You don't want us to go up then? Haha, bit of a slip there. I do but I don't think we will.
lou Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Was looking forward to this and it didnt deliver... Team didnt turn up, even players that are normally reliable like Berner were very below par.... boring game, shite atmosphere and didnt improve my mood any. Should have got the train and got pissed with everyone else If we play like that at Derby at 30 quid a ticket I will be severely pissed off - only thing I kept telling myself yesterday was "oh well at least the tickets were cheap" Cant make Palarse have a late meeting at work that day and after just having a week and a half leave no way can I book anymore. <_<
Cobbo Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 They played kick & rush football, alongside dirty tactics. We a) couldn't cope with that and b) thought we'd try and follow suit by playing kick & rush ourselves. Poor performance and as my brother testifies to, a dreadful game for the neutral too.
lcfc_jme Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Well we were pretty bobbins in all honesty, average approach play with next to no creativity and absolutely no desire to shoot whatsoever. I'm blaming myself for this result to be fair, it's my 4th Saturday away of the season and my 3rd defeat. Back 4 were horrendous, midfield were hardly in existence and Waggy was isolated against 2 brick walls. That said, Wednesday were pretty shocking themselves, and only JJ and, perhaps most depressingly, Leon Clarke, looked any good. JJ was Man of the Match by an absolute mile; absolutely brutalised Berner time and time again. Howard was an absolute waste of time substitution yesterday; granted he offers a different kind of threat, a threat which, for all intents and purposes, is against our own goal owing to how often he gives away freekicks and allows the opposition to come straight back at us. Major tactical own goal by Pearson yesterday, but there's still a long way to go and I trust he'll have us back on track again in no time.
Bert Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Highlight of the day had to be watching everyone run for the tram, well Bilo. Everyone else just casually jogged over the road, but Bilo full on sprinted to the traffic lights, sprinted over the road, and then up to the trams. Comedy at it's finest.

I can actually picture the scene. Was his scarf flapping wildly making him look like some deranged version of Doctor Who?!

I didn't know how long they waited at the station, honest.
Dan Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Defenders that can't pass, Midfielders that can't tackle or create, and forwards with shocking service. I really don't get why the whole team were so negative yesterday, the amount of times it goes back to Brown or the keeper is absolutely stupid, and the fact that virtually every time it will be a long ball up to 5'8 Waghorn really does confuse me. However, I'm not going to criticise Brown, granted he had a crap game, but the last 8 games he has been pretty solid and has played a massive part for us this season. Oakley is a different story mind, I'm sorry but he's got to go, he offers absolutely nothing to us and is not a captain at all, my opinion of him has been going down for a few months now but lately it has plummetted.
