PMDG do good aircraft and its not too fps intensive

Guarantee you wont be in the way on vatsim, there are guides as well

I used to have that as well. Christ, makes me want to buy them again.

Good yoke that is for single engine props vfr flying over the country.

I would highly reccomend FsPassengers if you are into realism for airliners

Will have a look into FsPassengers. I had heard of it years ago, around the time of Fs2004 but never got round to buying it.

Currently watching VATSIM tutorials on youtube, daunting stuff.

£49 for an hour on groupon, at the moment (I believe). Looks amazing.

Apparently you can decide where you want to fly to and from and do a few touch and go's. Basically, do what you like. I'm thinking of Luton - East Mids, via the North Sea to a cruise and then into East Mids.

I like how they've dubbed calming music over it so you can't hear the bloke screaming on take-off.

Years ago I was playing f-18 on my amiga and had to finish the mission by landing on an aircraft carrier, which I successfully did, but when you went to the outside camera (which I did to check, cos I thought I had, cos all I could see in front of me was blue) you could see the front wheel was about 2 metres off the end of the ship, but the plane was still horizontal lol

That was a good landing btw, any you can walk away from and all that!

The amiga had some cracking simulators (or atleast seemed it at the time). They're what got me into all this business really. I seem to remember an f-18 sim, I was never any good at them, mind.

Oh wow! I just love going to Duxford to the aircraft museum, and too the air show.

My two favourites aircraft are the Spitfire as a fighter, and the good old Lancaster as a bomber.

Mu Uncle flew Hurricanes in WW2, but got shot down over Burma, and ended up working on the infamous railway. He survived the war, however.

DT my great Uncle was squadron leader for the bombing of the bridge over the kwai. The RAF blew up the bridge (don't believe the movie).

He flew 'Liberator' bombers.

Would have thought that was fairly common up there, a strong crosswind takeoff / landing?

Indeed it is, it it less common to have someone film it although the runway at Sumburgh crosses the road so it is quite easy to get into a good filming position.  The SAAB 340 operational limits do include cross winds at take off and landing, and sometimes it did get a bit exciting.

Another flight on my patch. This is Westray to Papa Westray , the shortest scheduled flight in the world. The vid is actual flight time. Last time I did this flight though it was grass landing strips.

I'd love to be a pilot, can't help but think that flight would be really boring to fly though.

Getting the in flight service done is a bit of a rush! This is quite exciting on a windy day.
