purpleronnie Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Well this will probably die on its ass. But maybe I'm not alone in my interest in clothes....apart from the functionality. Today I have been mostly wearing....my new suit from http://www.dnagroove.it/ (a great mod style designer). I expect derision. I always felt that fashion has becme less and less important to the youth of today but when I grew up it was very important. I hope I'm wrong, although I have to say compared to the youth of America the English are definately well dressed.

They do have a neat and vast array of suits available... I might as well start saving now.
Webbo Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Today I have been mostly wearing some Asda jeans and a Sol Cal sweatshirt.
AoWW Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I love clothes but hate being 'dictated to' by the whole 'clothes horse' mentality of the fashion industry. I think far too many people feel they have to comply with a certain style (whatever their peers are wearing, usually) and it's a shame that people aren't encouraged to be more individualistic. I have to say the most stylish people I've seen are in Italy. And it's not just the 'haute-couture' (wrong country, I know!) few, either. Everyone over there just seems to ooze style, no matter where they are or what they're doing... and it all seems so effortless for them. I dunno what's in the water (or wine!), but they sure do look good on it! To be fair, though, I'm hardly one to judge. I have, after all, spent all of today in my (very stylish, colour-co-ordinated!) pyjamas!
FoxyPV Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Don't give a shit about fashion - have good suits for work, - jeans, tracksuit bottoms (for the rest of the time) and then get forced to buy stuff the missus picks out because i embarrass her with the stuff i wear (her words). I have however had to learn the fashion names as her and the stepdaughter spend a fortune on internet so i have to know how much stuff actually costs. (it's a bit too much fooking effort - have simpled it down if it can be shortened to initials then it's really expensive if you have to use the full name it's even more expensive)
rico Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 http://www.80scasualclassics.co.uk Quite a good website, though The Business on Welford Rd stocks ssimilar styles £10 or £20 cheaper
Samilktray Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Really into my clothes and what not, although I think mine will differ to Rons Although everyone can appreciate a good suit, and that is a really great suit, aslong as Rons wearing the suit, not the other way round
Jordan Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 I'd wear most of those suits purpleronnie linked in a second. I'd have a full mod wardrobe if I could. http://www.80scasualclassics.co.uk Quite a good website, though The Business on Welford Rd stocks ssimilar styles £10 or £20 cheaper Sergio Tacchini: Great Italian man name, or greatest Italian man name?

purpleronnie Posted 14 March 2010 Author Posted 14 March 2010 The replies make me feel all warm inside. Really into my clothes and what not, although I think mine will differ to Rons Although everyone can appreciate a good suit, and that is a really great suit, aslong as Rons wearing the suit, not the other way round I have no problem with different styles. I hope I'm not being too presumptuous but the there does seem to be style for those who follow rap music although I don't particularly like it there is a dedication to it which I admire

The Doctor Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Jeans (none of this faded/stonewashed rubbish - just plain blue jeans) and a plain t-shirt does fine. even fro those formal occasions just get some black jeans and a collared plain black/white t-shirt

Lillehamring Posted 1 May 2010 Posted 1 May 2010 My new suit. Classic italian 60's style, only 320 euro's. smart, but 60s? no way, far too highly buttoned http://images.google.no/images?hl=no&q=60s%20suit&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi
