Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Ok, so far Nobby has proved very capable filling in at right back (though I admit, I've not been to either of the games when he played there) so would we be happy to see him there for the rest of the season? I would. Full back is a position that benefits immensely for experience and he's not lost that much pace. In my opinion it would take a good and pacey winger to find him out. Your thoughts please, especially those who've seen him over this last week or so. NB, I'm not saying to replace Morrison, I'd prefer him central and Brown on the bench for now... he's tested my patience! <_<

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I think that he is very good at RB but I doubt Morrison wont go back there though with Brown coming back at CB. But I'd like to see him stay there as although Brown one minute can look fooking awesome, the next he can look shite and cant find a blue shirt from ten yeards, so I'd rather have Solano at RB with Morrison in the middle. But either way we are very strong at the back. And one thing is for sure, neilson wont be playing at RB any time soon!
davieG Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I can't see him being fit enough to play Sunday @ 2pm and then Tuesday evening.
Narborough_fox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I can't see him being fit enough to play Sunday @ 2pm and then Tuesday evening. Well I wouldn't think he'd be playing on Tuesday! It's Wednesday.
Joe. Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I thought he looked excellent there on Tuesday night, so hopefully that'll continue for a while. I'm quite set on the Solano, Morrison, Hobbs and Berner defence right now; with that lineup for the rest of the season (or more or less for the most part) I'd be extremely confident. Personally I think Morrison, whilst fairly well accomplished at right back, is a quality performer in the middle and I'd rather see him there if Solano can slot in at right back on a more regular basis. But as DavieG says, at his age fitness is always going to pose the big question.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Think Solano will stay there for now but there will come a time when he has to rested, especially when we play sat, tuesday. friday and monday over easter.

davieG Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Well I wouldn't think he'd be playing on Tuesday! It's Wednesday. Still think he'll struggle.
MrSpaM Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Solano plays better at RB than he does in midfield in my opinion, only seen him play at RB once though, but he was pretty solid. He seems to work well with Hobbs, Moris and Bruno, better than i expected tbh. Over the Solano/Brown argument, i think Brown still commands the box better, but Nobby has more quality about him. It's a hard choice, but either way i'd feel confident
S10foxes Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Consider the effect the RB positions has on Wellens and Gallagher
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Didn't Nobby play at right back when he was at Villa?
Salieri Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I hope Nobby plays there as much as his fitness allows, he certainly doesn't seem out of place at right back and it could become his best position over right midfield. It's been a problem position for us and while Morrison has done an adequate job for us there, its great to see him get his chance in the centre where i think we will see the best of him. Solano, Hobbs, Morrison, Berner. Solid, and our best defensive quartet in my opinion.

I hope that Morrison will keep his place in centre of defence when Brown is available again. Morrison has been a terrific signing for City & looks good at full back or centre back. Even for the short time he played, I thought that Alex Bruce looked better in central defence than Brown. I agree 100% with your remark about Brown, he is very inconsistent. Nobby has looked a class act at RB & picks out players with extreme accuracy when making forward passes out of defence. I just hope his legs hold out to the busy run-in they have got coming up. You are correct about Neilson, & whilst Bruno stays fit McGiven won't play at LB for City again. The back 4 selected for the last 2 games are class. Jack Hobbs......what a signing! Hopefully The Tunch will play again, but he would have to win back his place IMO.
potter3 Posted 19 March 2010 Posted 19 March 2010 Id be worried if he played against a pacey winger Morrison and Neilson are hardly pacey themselves.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 19 March 2010 Posted 19 March 2010 Bruce having keyhole surgery on a hernia. Luckily it ain't twisted. He's on the ward next door to my mums at the General.
