I work at smiths news, opposite Euston street nick, and was working that night the lad who was banksman that night is shacked up with Levi's cousin, Levi came over to him about 3am and chatted to him a bit, the lad told me later he seemed "completely hammered".

Get rid ASAP, this is not the way a potential role model for young people should be behaving.

I know. Leicester's roads are going to be a nightmare tomorrow. All them kids smashing in 8 pints before they get in their motors now they've heard city superstar and hero to millions Levi Porter is at it.

Oh and in before Thracian says he should have been allowed to get on with it so long as he wasn't weaving.

Key word there being potential. Him being a role model is laughable, but he still has the potential to be one as he has come through our youth system.

Who do you imagine was Porter's potential role model?

I'll never forget his 10 minute master class at Stamford Bridge before the injury. The lad obviously had potential, it's a shame it's turned out like this.

Porter gave an awesome little display in the 2nd half that night before he got injured, especially that pass for DJ Campbell's header. Sublime.

That aside, though, he never really looked like a special player and seemed happier to just sit on his arse out the first team picking up a nice wage than willing to knuckle down, behave and fulfil what potential he had. T'is a shame but shit happens.

Don't expect me to defend anything he's done. Or anything the club have done to help a kid who's so foolishly wrecked his career. But the judgemental attitude on here doesn't surprise me. I just wonder if you'd all take the same attitude if it were your own kids who'd hit the skids.

It is perfectly clear that Porter went seriously off track. I cannot comment on the club's contribution to his continuing downfall because I'm not privy to all of what's gone on but there seems little sign that they've helped in any way.

Few families are without kids or grandkids that cause them heartache - I've problems of my own with a grandson who lost his half-brother not long ago and is having massive issues in readjusting to that and to other difficulties in his life.

But, unlike some on here, my attitude is to try and help not to wade in and kick the victim still harder. But you lot live with your own pious reactions. And hope that they don't come back to haunt you. Is it really not enough that Levi seems to have chucked his career away?

He's the victim of himself - lots of kids, and indeed adults, are. With any luck they get some help instead of a few more kicks for good measure.

Help him, give him a job on the stall then.

Although I wouldn't leave him in charge of the money.
