2009 City lose 5 - 1 at Forest and could well face them in the play offs in a few weeks time.

personally I would settle for an odd goal defeat at Wembley if I were offered it now. Don't fancy a shaggers style capitulation next season.

If we got into the Prem, we could spend the money we get on a few more decent players, which could even help us to stay up, teams like Stoke have done it in the past. Even if we did come straight back down, we'll be able to pay off some of our debts, will be hopefully in a good financial position, in a good standing for the future.

But for every good omen there's a bad one .................................. in this case ultimately losing to Blackburn in the Play Off Final in 1992.

So we beat Forest in the semi and then lose to a Welsh team at Wembley.

Premier League isn't as hard to crack as it was 4,5 years ago. Hull, Stoke etc. A well organised team (Wolves, Burnley under Coyle...us under NP) has a real chance. Just gotta get there first!

I hope Nigel Pearson will settle for this, too. I mean, really, LCFC are automatically going to get better both on the pitch and in the bank staying right here in the Championship. Just like Southampton did when they made the playoffs in 2007 but failed to win promotion. Or when Leeds lost at Wembley in 2006. Or the aforementioned Forest in 2003.

Personally, I kind of wish Leicester didn't tear up League One last year and get promoted back to the Championship so soon. They'd have been much better off consolidating in another year in the third division.

We buggered this whole thing up by getting promoted last season, we really needed to get relegated.. probably back to the conference, just to give us some time to regroup and plan for a steady rise up the leagues.

Now we have been where we have all season, I want promotion. Don't think that is greedy at all and I am sure the players and management want the same.

If we had a real go at the Prem and organize our team well, why can't we stay up?

Look at the possible teams for next season, Wolves, Wigan, Bolton, Stoke, Burnley, Newcastle, West Brom, West Ham, Hull, Blackburn etc. I am sure that we could go to places like that and get something. It's just the added joy of going to Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool etc.

There are quite a few poor sides within the division and I am sure if Nigel got the money, he would spend it well and build something up here, like he is doing at the minute.

You've got the likes of Wigan, Wolves, Stoke, Hull and Bolton making up the numbers in the Premiership and us not there competing with that. And then people turn round and say we're not ready for that. We can't take up the challenge of that.

Wigan only managed a home crowd of 14500 this week in their home game - that's a total joke. We'd fill our ground week in, week out.

These small fry teams need to be ousted imo. They're like Coventry of seasons past. Think they're big, think they're this and that, and all they do is make up the numbers.

Yeah, wouldn't you be rather have consolidated for a year in League One? That way we could have built for a season of consolidation in the Championship.

We certainly would be quickly relegated from the Premiership with our current players, but surely M.M. would dig deep to bring in a few high grade players, in order to consolidate, before we can look to achieving more.

And what people rather happen? Leicester languish in The Championship? They might win more games, but it's all superficial, because it's against second tier teams. I'd rather have a hard fought draw against a team like Liverpool than three 5-0 wins against a team like S****horpe. Premier League football is the pinnacle of football, and a real fan should want their team to at least have the chance to compete in it.

As for players, yes, we probably do have a squad that is not Premier League standard, but guess what - that's what pre-season is for. Same as our squad going up from League One probably wasn't Championship quality, so we - guess what - bought some players. No team going up a division, with money from going up, wouldn't buy players - and given Nigel Pearson's current record, why would anyone doubt he couldn't bring in quality?

As for the Premier League as a whole, there is no reason to fear any team in the lower half of the table, and possibly around half of the top half as well. On a good day, I'd even fancy Leicester's chances against teams like Aston Villa and Everton, or even currently Liverpool.
