On loan Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearingscored for 10 man Leicester as they beat Watford 4-1 to consolidate their place in the Championship play-offs.

Spearing scored his first goal in professional football on 51 minutes, finishing from inside the penalty area.

The diminutive midfielder has been on loan to Nigel Pearson’s side since the beginning of March, making four appearances before today.

Leicester are now fifth and look set to secure a place in the play-offs meaning Spearing could eventually be the first Liverpool player to play at the new Wembley!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he now also Leicester's 100th goal-scorer of the century?

Thought he had a top game! I should get to more matches, we always get a hatfull when I go this season (though sadly that didn't work 2 seasons ago when I went to most of the home games)

He is indeed, said that on the radio earlier.

I thought he was good. Not brilliant but good. His goal was well taken from 15 yards however the oppotunity arose from very slack defending. I would have issed a right bollocking to my sunday league team for not closing that down. The space and time he had in the box was unbeleivable! Either way, well taken an well deserved. Unfortunatley i can't see him breaking into the Liverpool team anytime soon which is a real shame.

Excellent performance today, he really impressed me and was my MOTM. He is exactly the type of dynamic midfield player we've been crying out for this season and must surely stay in the team for the rest of the season.
