body102 Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I think now Howard is suspende for three games Vaughan should start up front with Waghorn . When Vaughan came on yesterday I thought he palyed really well and I think he actually put some longer studs in as he didntkeep falling over like he did at Peterborough . His pace and power is something that will scare defenders which was showed yesterday when he was a good few yards behind there defender but caught up with him , shouldered him out the way and cooly fininshed . In the run in and playoffs (hopefully) Vaughan will be a very important player for us . What does everyone else think
Narborough_fox Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He has better heading than i thought as well, his speed is also a lot better than Howard.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Very good yesterday, shame we don't have a chance of signing him. Same applys to Spearing.
dpjfox Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 i thought i read somewhere that we could buy vaughan
LCFC_Playoffwinners2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 If Vaughan can build up his fitness levels so he can start every game, then he could be very valuable to us if he does sign for next season. I do agree though that he should start up front with Waghorn.
Mee Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Looked very good yesterday, i was very surprised how strong he is in the air. Defiantly start with Waghorn,. Two paces strikers could lead to a few goals
ScouseFox Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Very good yesterday, shame we don't have a chance of signing him. Same applys to Spearing. That all changes if we go up...
Sparky Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 If we were to go all the way now id imagine Vaughan will play a huge part in it. Get him match fit and we have a star on our hands.
Jay Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I thought Vaughan had been told he could leave Everton in the summer and this was an "opportunity" for him"
Guest Mee-9 Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He played well yesterday, made a decent impact when he came on.
calum_lcfc Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I basically agree with everyone, I have a mate who is a Derby fan who said he would be useless for us but if he can get fit you can tell by watching him play how he likes to play and what he wants to do. As said above him and Waggy up top could be massive if we are to go all the way
Narborough_fox Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He's a bit lazy as unlike Waggy he doesn't really chase back. Or is it only me that thinks that. Still a very good player and if we do have a chance to buy him I will happily take him!
Gaffer Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He's a bit lazy as unlike Waggy he doesn't really chase back. Or is it only me that thinks that. Still a very good player and if we do have a chance to buy him I will happily take him! Think it's more fitness than laziness, soon as that is back up to form he'll be class partner to Waggy
Ozwin Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Waghorn's like Dickov as I've said before, he chases everything until there's nothing left in the tank. Everyone else looks lazy compared to him.
Daggers Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He's a bit lazy as unlike Waggy he doesn't really chase back. Or is it only me that thinks that. Still a very good player and if we do have a chance to buy him I will happily take him! What attacking outlet does a team have if both forwards are chasing back?
Sparky Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 What attacking outlet does a team have if both forwards are chasing back? Correct, one guy needs to lead the line and make sure he is getting in the right areas at the right time and the other needs to be the workhorse. Waghorn has done the latter brilliantly this season
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 We looked more of a threat with Waghorn and Vaughan up front than with Howard and Waghorn yesterday. I'm not knocking big Steve at all, he was excellent while he was on the pitch yesterday, but our style of play made us better in the second half with balls to feet rather than looking long to big Steve. The onus is on the team to play short and on the floor without big Steve in the team and we have the players to do this. We should be playing on the floor more often in games and with pace. We look pretty good when we play this way. I'm not concerned with the absence of big Steve, Vaughan is a more than capable replacement.
Hitesh Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Played very well when he came on and getting on the scoresheet will do him wonders. He does need to learn where is strike partner is though but that will come with more games. The best fit to replace Howard in my opinion.
leicesterseddon Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 It's obvious he's got talent (and pace), shame he hasn't shown it so far, with the exception of yesterday, when he took his goal well. Pissed me right off at Peterborough though when he took far too long to get back on-side after an attack broke down. Not really bothered about him not getting back, he's there to be up front. Not sure whether I'd go with him and Waggy up front for the next couple of games, think Waghorn-Gallagher (with N'Guessan on the right) might serve us better. Difficult one though...
Corky Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He's a bit lazy as unlike Waggy he doesn't really chase back. Or is it only me that thinks that. Still a very good player and if we do have a chance to buy him I will happily take him! Is he lazy? He ran the channels very well yesterday, and showed great determination to win headers against taller defenders. His work-rate is fine in my opinion.
StanSP Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I was surprised to see how well Vaughan did in the air, especially winning a few headers against the giant that is Taylor. Although when Vaughan came back down to earth, I was a bit fearful that he would stay down and get injured. He did get a smack in the bollocks by the looks of it shortly after his goal!
ScouseFox Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He did get a smack in the bollocks by the looks of it shortly after his goal! Yeah, he was staggering around in agony. Every man in the crowd was wincing, almost in tears for the guy, whilst the women found it hilarious.
Callabinho Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 He’s a premier league striker and his goal was a testament to that! He played really well considering we only had ten men!! He is too good for this league so I hope he starts the next game and grabs another goal or two!
thybluefox Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 IMO, him and Waghorn could see us through these play-offs if they both keep on form. Vaugn looked good on Saturday, strong and took his goal well. He doesn't need to put in the same workrate as Waggy, as long as he starts there or thereabouts with the last defender.
