leicesterfox86 Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Quick topic to pass a bit of time on a Wednesday afternoon - who do you think has been the best signing in the Premier League this season? Andy Gray has put forward his nominations and although I agree that each of his suggestions have made an impact..... I actually think Tuncay at Stoke has been a superb season and helped them progress. Not been in the spotlight much, but he is the sort of player that will take them to the next level. Along with Huth, he didn't cost too much either. Over to you...
FoxyPV Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Richard Dunne came cheap as chips and with Collison has been superb all season. (Ilan as an outside bet if his goals keep West Ham up)
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Valencia has looked useful for Man United alot of the time, done very well considering the boots he's had to fill.
Fox You Forest Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Lee Chung-Yong, I think he's quality and is definitely wasted at Bolton.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Why does it have to be Carlos Tevez? Last time I looked Darren Bent had scored more goals than Carlos Tevez and Bent is playing in a team that isnt the best, so to score 22 League goals its pretty impressive.
AjcW Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Darren Bent hands down. Then probably one of the two villa centre backs.
Samilktray Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 D Bent & Sol Campbell. And did Pompey sign Kevin Prince Boateng this season? If so him.
lou Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Berbatov.............. well for Chelsea he has been! (yes I know its his 2nd but I wanted to say it)
ScouseFox Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Darren Bent. Not expensive and not playing in a team that create shit loads of chances, yet scored 22 goals. Impressive.
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 What about Charles N'Zogbia? Totally underrated - the impact he's had in Wigan this season, tremendous. Oh, wait - he's been there since the second half of the 2008/09 season. Etherington for Stoke? Same story. Meh. Darren Bent? Could've scored about 30 goals by now, if it hadn't been for all these chances wasted (the two penalties against Spurs, for instance). Tevez profits from playing in a ManCity powerhouse, with proper midfielders doing one half of the delivery. In this case, I'd go for Jamie O'Hara (on loan) to Portsmouth. Either him or Adam Johnson.
Tony Pine Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 aquilani (bent probbers, have to have more of a think)
Bugg Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Darren Bent. Not expensive He was about £10 million, rising to £16.5 million, wouldn't exactly call that a cheap player....
MikeyT Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Although Pompey got relegated what about Jamie O'Hara? Had a great season for them.
