ian_marshall Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Over the past couple of weeks many people have been suggesting that DJ Campbell return to City (Despite the lack of a recall option), but now DJ might actually be able to do us all a favour (Assuming things stay as they are) and score the goals to knock Forest out of the Playoff's. Seeing as Blackpool have beaten Forest both Home and Away this season and DJ's in a good run of form this could be quite an opportunity for City to finally get something out of him. Although it'd be nice to see City beat Forest at Wembley, i'd fancy our chances more against a Blackpool side who we have beaten twice this season and who are missing their in-form striker (I assume DJ can't play against us). Furthermore as much as it would be nice to defeat Forest at Wembley, I actually think it'd be just as great to get one over on Ollie and send his Blackpool side packing in the final. What are your thoughts?

TheStig Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I am actually of the opinion that much to focus is placed on both DJ and whom we should play or not play. It is for the first time in many years down to ourselves to get into the Prem. We cannot and should not rely on anything else than the team and the support we can give them. Let us focus on OUR team and don`t wast more time and speculation on issues beyong our control. The situation is in our own hands which I suppose is what most coaches and players would prefer. We need - in the playoffs - a draw and a win and then another win at Wembley whether oppononents play DJ or anybody else. We have done it before and will do it again - so let us focus on getting 120% behind the team and roll over who ever it may be in the playoffs. :scarf:
dandannieldanok Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Fvck DJ let's just do it our own way! Agreed, although I do also agree with the sentiments of the topic starter. I'm confused.

What are your thoughts? i agree , id rather play a blackpool team without dj than a full strength forest side. Do we know 100% that dj cant play for them against us ??
Daggers Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 How many more fucking threads do we need for this shitarse player?
Corky Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 How many more fucking threads do we need for this shitarse player? We should recall him as his goals could cost us a play-off place
ian_marshall Posted 25 April 2010 Author Posted 25 April 2010 i agree , id rather play a blackpool team without dj than a full strength forest side. Do we know 100% that dj cant play for them against us ?? According to the Blackpool Gazette he can't play against us. "But for strike duo Campbell and Dobbie there is no need. Both are signed until May 31 to allow them to take part in the play-offs, should the Seasiders get that far. However, there is a clause in the deals which means neither could face their parent clubs in the play-offs – Campbell couldn't play against Leicester, Dobbie against Swansea". Link
Guest Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 The sooner his contract is terminated, or he's sold, the better. Perhaps people will eventually shut up about him. Or perhaps not.

flanimal Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Admittedly, Blackpool are probably the weakest team on paper who are involved in the play offs - even more so without DJ Campbell. But, having beaten Blackpool twice this season, were Leicester to face them, they could become complacent. This season, Leicester have played better against better opposition. And regardless, that kind of mentality is a loser's attitude. We have to go in to the play offs with a positive attitude.

I would imagine the fans reaction/involvement might count for something because if the City fans weren't up for that they never ever will be. I still hope it doesn't happen because of the inevitable media circus focussed on Holloway it would drive me nuts.
flanimal Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Let's be honest, DJ isn't all that. He's unlikely to single handedly defeat Nottingham Forest. In the game against Peterborough he missed about three very easy chances, and was lucky with hisgoal. The only reason Blackpool beat Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago is because Forest sent out a weak team. You'd have to fancy that over two legs, Nottingham Forest would win.
Raj Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Everything City have achieved since last season has NOT been because of other teams or players or either any individuals of our own team. Its been a squad of our own players. Really dont understand all this Dj shite. Let him play for whoever he wants and let us do what we do...
The Padster Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 He could do everyone a favour by chuffing off when this seasons done.
Benji Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Have I missed something? Have we already beaten Cardiff over two legs?
BoneDog Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Presuming we get to the final I would love it if DJ has scored the goal/goals that have knocked Forest out of the play-off semi. If we don't make it to the final then I couldn't give a poo because I'll be in a massive sulk for 3 weeks anyway and probably won't react to anything apart from hunger pains, thirst and tiredness.
Houdini Logic Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Yes he could - jump off the pier with his boot laces tied...
unreachable Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 DJ would be a hero and make fans eat their words if scores the winning goal In Claridge style in the Play-Off final if Blackpool get knocked out and his loan expires and he automatically returns to us as the parent club. Would the knives be out for him then? I think not. NP is pragmatic enough to have DJ on the bench for the Play-Off final if he is a player on form.
Aumski Posted 27 April 2010 Posted 27 April 2010 tbh i think he's doing us a greater favor then we realize, he's on loan from us at blackpool, dont forget, if they beat forest in the Play off semi's and we get them in the final, he will be inelligible to play, and 1 of there 2/3 main threats is gone, i would rather have 2 or 3 threats rather then 3 or 4! and hell he's carrying there team most matches! also i like dj, he's the same as james vaughan ablilitywise, great pace, but decent finishing, and poor composure(for us i mean, he's like matty fryatt with nearly a goal every 2 games for them)
Katy Posted 27 April 2010 Posted 27 April 2010 Wow, if we have several threads for the same player now, I cannot wait for the close season
Nick Posted 27 April 2010 Posted 27 April 2010 Wow, if we have several threads for the same player now, I cannot wait for the close season I've heard we're going in again for Edgar Davids.
