Maybes Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Another 90 minutes to make amends. We now have nothing to lose whereas Cardiff have it all to lose with one foot in the final. Fingers crossed for Wednesday!!

Aeropars Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I don't expect 30-yard volleys, but at least if you smack it in, the goalkeeper might fumble then someone might get on the end of it. All this passing outside the box gives defenders time to retreat and adjust, it's just not a good strategy. Spot on. We seem to want to create the perfect goal or want to score form 6 yeards. Have an effort, shoot on spec. It might go in, if not then the keeper might spill and a rebound could be knocked in. At the right time of course. I dont want people taking shots from distance all the time. Just saw this on the os: It is difficult when you are playing a two-legged tie that if you are losing you don't want to be losing two-nil but you still have to be positive. That is key. And now city can simply go for it with nothing to lose. We're behind and have to score. That has to set up for an attacking formation. I think the key thing for Wednseday is that we simply have to get the first goal. If we do then we could do it. It will be so hard but if we do it my living room will not have ceiling.

Bryn Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Gutting result, the formation really was wrong wasn't it. Thought the ref was poor, actually think he favoured us far too much all over the pitch, but not in the box. Think they look better equipped for the big league than we do. Here's to them bottling it in Cardiff, with Leicester going hell for leather to claim a 3-1 win. Future is still bright, we couldn't lose in these playoffs, it's all experience for a young team. Need some wingers and a striker, and to tie up Waghorn and maybe Spearing for another season.
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Cant be arsed to post it but it is 6 yards away from where it should be. No doubt. Post it you bumhole.

Praying we get the first goal and it would put Cardiff under immense pressure as the crowd may get anxious. Comon' Leicester.
Salieri Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I just hope that if we do go out after the second leg we do so with a bang and not a whimper. The pressure is off now in a way, nobody will fancy us to turn this around and that just might work in our favour. Shit or bust now lads, just fecking go for it!
Edmund Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 For everyone asking... I hope C-man doesn't mind It happens in every game of football though. Clutching at straws springs to mind.
Tilley Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Regardless of whether he moved the ball or not, Chris Weale shouldn't be beaten at his near post.
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 We're allowed to clutch at straws when it could cost us! Come on, get off the fence! And considering it hit the post those yards mean everything.
Guest Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 It happens in every game of football though. Clutching at straws springs to mind. Is it though? Fact is he brought it too far forward initially, then continued to try moving it further forward. In that sort of position it can make all the difference
Maybes Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Who the fook is c-man?? Username: Cman Resides: Leicester/Sheffield Christian name: James Happy?
Callabinho Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 It was a shambles, the ref was utter balls ! i was disappointed with King and Dyer today, we played as if we had stevie howard upfront to ! i am hugely disappointed but i suppose stranger things have happened we could go and grab a win at their place, but today did knock the wind out of me ! But big stevie howard he scored against them last time !! s lets get behind them C'mon you blueees !!
Edmund Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 We're allowed to clutch at straws when it could cost us! Come on, get off the fence! And considering it hit the post those yards mean everything. It's nothing new though. Every player moves the ball and when a foul is committed it's not like the ref has a can of white paint to mark the pitch. It's always placed in the general area and not precisely on the spot of the foul. People are going on like it's some sort of hand of god.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 As a Keeper myself I would of had a 2 man wall HOWEVER I would of expected a cross and not a shot so no real complaints Weale just read what Whittingham was going to do wrong.
Aeropars Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 For everyone asking... I hope C-man doesn't mind 2 yards from the closeness of the 2 players to the free kick. IF anyone here can tell me thats the moment of contact i'll dispute it. People are clutching at straws. Thats an understatement! A game is not decided on a single moment. That happens all the time in most matches.
Prospero Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I have no coaching qualifications and feel too humble to criticise Nigel Pearson's tactics when he has been so successful over the last two years. Given the goal scoring threat presented by Cardiff, a defensive approach was not unreasonable, even though we were at home. However, this cautious approach, combined with Cardiff's edge in attack, which kept the midfield busy, meant that Waghorn had little support up front and was stranded up there on his own, outmuscled on the long balls. We had two very good chances at the end: Fryatt's fluffing of a one on one with the goalkeeper and King's shot which was well saved. An earlier change up front would at least have given us longer to win the equaliser. Pearson values and trusts his players and, having selected the team, before he makes changes he wants to give them every opportunity to win the match. This is one way in which he has built team spirit. The tactics worked in the sense that Cardiff were not able to score from free play. We were beaten by a lucky, well taken free kick. It happens. Unfortunately, it happened for them and not for us. On the positive side, despite the goal, our defence was excellent and, in particular, our captain was absolutely commanding in every respect. He has to learn now to play a wider role, if he is to captain the team again, in helping to organise the team on the pitch. In this case helping to encourage the wingers to push further forward into a 4-3-3 formation, if this is what we are playing. I thought that today, on the whole, Weale made one or two good saves and that Bruce, Berner, Wellens and Spearing also played well and that Solano's experience was, as usual, very helpful. Despite the great disappointment, I do not feel negative. I shall go to Cardiff on Wednesday optimistic. As has been said already: it is not yet over and this could yet be a playoff contest of two (different) halves.
samjohnson Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Seriously shocking referee... I honestly can't believe he is of Premiership status if he can miss 3 BLATANT handballs... But its all to play for Wednesday. Keep the faith and the faith will be repayed...
AndyBrew Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I felt very down at the final whistle but after some contemplation time, I genuinely think that this could work in Leicesters favour and will force NP to set his stall out on Wednesday in a positive manner. not all over by a long chalk however I can't help but think another season in the championship might do us some good anyway come on you foxes make a fight of it :appl: my biggest concern will Jack Hobbs still be with us next season?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Yes we should of had penalties, but we can beat cardiff, they dont look that good. The game was crying out for Stevie Howard to rough the defence up.
